This is my FAVORITE watch channel. I’ve learned so much. Not just regarding watches, but I’ve learned how to be a classy Man. I lost my Father at a very young age, so this channel has been a God send. So much substance. So much charm. Thank you Sir… 🙏
Tristano, you are like fine wine and get better with age. I thoroughly enjoyed the video; especially, for introducing us to Federique Constant and Glashutte Original -- 2 brands that are not hyped and offer spectacular value! Several points to bring up from the video: 1. How does Frederique Constant compare to Raymond Weil? 2. As your tastes change, I can see selling watches to raise funds for new additions to your collection. I would like to "watch" how and where you sell your collection to get the most money for your watches in future videos. 3. You talk about getting your "final grail watch" as if it is a destination. I would argue that once you obtain your grail, and enjoy wearing it, there will be a next grail, and another. It is just the madness of being a watch collector. Keep up the great content!
I'd go for the more FC for its price for a Tourbillion and more simplictic dial. Otherwise A Lange & Sohne for quality, design, detail and high price if you can get one. Good luck!
FC has captured my attention for several years now. Definitely a company to keep an eye on. Glashütte are a favorite of mine. I own several vintage pieces from the 50s and 60s. The model you highlighted is also on my radar.
Good luck with the grail. From personal experience sometimes grails turn out not to be what you expect. Not because of the watch itself, but how it fits into your life. Especially dress pieces. Bought my grail Lange 1 four years ago and just sold it this year. Traded “down” for a JLC Master Geographic world time that actually fits my lifestyle and couldn’t be happier. Still love the Lange, but realized I loved the idea of owning one more than the reality.
Like what every watch enthusiast, collector, connoisseurs, etc. This is a never-ending search for that grail piece. My idea of watch collection at the moment is 3 on ss bracelet sports watch and 3 dressy on leather/gator strap. I recently traded my speedmaster professional and added a bit to acquire the omega ck859 reedition that is already discontinued after 6 months of production. Since my collection only consists of 6 timepieces. So if I want something, 1 should go. If I want an SS model Il look and decide who can go out of my 3 ss watches, then vice versa with my dressy watches. You are totally right. If you can just afford and buy everything, it's gonna be boring. I think 6 is a perfect number for a watch collection well for me. So good luck with your journey, and I hope you can find the right one.
Just on a visual point I have noticed you have changed up your video style recently. A lot more dynamic, and snappy. I really like it! Content has always been great, but I thought I would give a kudos to the hard work you put into the production. Always grateful that we get this for free
Have not had the pleasure of trying the GO in person but l loved the visit to ALS trying on their Lange 1 moonphase. After that visit I looked to see what alternatives there were and I think the GO would never really scratch that itch for me due to it’s thickness which makes it look a bit inelegant compared to the Lange 1. Instead of getting the GO now I’ll save and reward myself with a Lange 1 for retirement.
Can’t wait to see your review of the Glashütte. I’ve been drooling over a couple of watches in the Pano collection and I have a feeling one of them will end up on my grail list.
In Spain, there's a tradition that says you're having a "penúltima" when you want to have the last drink of the evening. You'd never say "última" or "last" because it's like it's the last of your life, which is a sad thought. Here's to your penúltima watch TGV. It'd be hard to top that GO annual calendar.
Thank you so much TGV for such a great video! I love both the Frederique Constant and Glashuette Original especially if it was in steel! I wish you the best of luck in your journey of finding your grail piece! I personally prefer the Glashuette Original over Frédérique Constant! Stay healthy and well as always! I wish you the best of luck again in finding your grail piece! Say hello for me to Hugo! Your fellow watch enthusiast, Nicholas L ❤❤❤👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻⏱️⏱️⏱️🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🦖🦖🦖🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Great to see another video on your channel on German watchmaking, which I think deserves more attention from the watch enthusiast community. Glasshutte also offer a lovely observation watch amongst other beautiful pieces. I'm a big fan of Stowa and have two watches from their collection: a Flieger Classic 40 and Marine Original, the latter also a deck observation watch and significantly less expensive than the Glasshutte offering. And of course, Hanhart offer some fantastic watches too, especially 'that' chronograph!
Wow the F.C. Tourbillion and the Glashutte are really magnificent the 100hr power reserve really is something to behold on the Glashutte really nice either watch as a grail is really spectacular any one would be luck to have either watch in there collection what ever watch you choose as your grail I'm sure well be fantastic. Wow you B-ROLL was exceptional today never fail to impress with you editing skills really enjoyed the video time flew by.
Good evening TGV, great selection you came up with in this video. Pretty difficult to pick a favourite, but being german I like the Glashütte Original. I mean A.Lange & Söhne may be the first watchmaker that comes to mind when thinking Glashütte (the town) but Glashütte Original came up with some really nice watches of lately. Best regards!
Evening Heiko! I wouldn't mind visiting one day, I love traveling in Germany. You have great taste what can I say. Thank you as always and have a great weekend. Best regards, TGV
Good luck with the next leg of your journey. Only TGV’s sincerity makes me say, “yeah, you’re right, $15,000 is a bargain!” It’s all perspective I suppose. Thanks for the great video as always.
My gosh - that Glashutte is stunning ! Although I was aware of the make I had never actually looked at one more than in passing. As a wise man once said “ Pure Class” 👏
Hi TGV, You definitely need a Reverso in your collection. It would be perfect for you. I've been very happy with mine for 3 years now. Best regards, John
Longtime subscriber since the early days.. Love how your collection has evolved, T. I’m sure you’ll pick the one that suits you best. And as always, thank you for the amazing content!! Cheers, Matt
I really appreciate the time and care you put into reviewing and just talking about microbrands and mediumbrands(?), instead of just Rolex Rolex Rolex. Not that I have anything against an Explorer II if anyone is interested...... Anyone???
Would be cool if, in the next Yearly SOTC, you went over each sold watch and why you ended up selling it. Excited to see where your collection is going!
Understand that you did consider that option in the past, but I feel like AP for me would be the great Grail watch option)! Thank you for the quality content, as always, Sir TGV! Take care!
That Glashutte is gorgeous. I'd never look at rose gold for a daily piece but my Certina dress watch is made from it and really pulls it off well. It has its place for something special.
That FC is truly cool and a great value, but unless you're laser focused on a Tourbillon, still a very large sum. I'd personally prefer the Panomatic. I hate all gold on watches but that rose gold looked stunning even to my extremely prejudiced eyes. Brilliant video as usual. Small note: I love the way you presented many specs in one frame in this video. Anyone interested can just pause and look longer and to me it was a very practical way of absorbing the usual info quickly. Onwards and upwards!
Am I really enjoying and excited about your new watch journey. To me the market seems awash with diver and sports watches, that, we’ll seem to me same same. Not to,say I enjoy my current and greatly reduced diver collection, but I now am gravitating towards dressier options and am enjoying the heck out of me Oris artelier as my daily. Cheers .
It's Saturday morning in the Scottish Highlands, it's chilly, it's breezy, it's been raining. The heating is on, the house is warm & TGV-UG is on the tablet. Today is a good day
As you purge the collection, I would love to see a deeper exploration into the methodology of reduction, the lessons learned, and insights on redefining the collector/curator to a core collection. It is a fascinating journey when in that phase of the hobby.
TGV, im very sorry to hear your thoughts on Breguet. I remember now you talking about that New York experience in older videos; its the unfortunate part of marketing these days for luxury brands as you know. However I really hope one day you will reconsider. They are my all time favorite watch brand due to not only their hugely extensive heritage and accomplishments, but also the fact that they are one of the few brands in my opinion that has largely stuck to their roots in the watches they put out today, being amongst the most beautiful dress watches out there I fell. I do love a beautifully crafted and complex movement, but honestly, Im a sucker for a good looking watch, and Breguet, especially with their Guilloche dials, are damn near works of art in my opinion. Lastly, contrary to your experience, Breguet is the one brand Ive had the best experience with. I still remember my first time in a Breguet boutique in my early days of collecting. Was only 22, but despite that the dealers at Breguet still treated me phenomenally; offered me drinks, took me to the back and brought out watches to me and even hooked me up with a catalogue, several other of their books, and other goodies they had. They well knew, and I even admitted to them, that I wasnt even close to being able to afford anything there, but I still felt treated like I was one of their regulars. Every time hence ive gone back to a Breguet boutique, ive always had a similar experience, and no other AD or boutique from any other brand ive been to has come close. Im hoping one day you might be willing to give them another chance, because id love to see you do videos on some of their watches and im confident as well you will enjoy them. I think it was in one of your previous videos you mentioned enthusiasts shouldn't hate on a brand for just one bad experience. Now If I remember correctly you were referring mostly in terms of QC, but I feel this also applies. I also understand though that im also making assumptions that that's your only bad experience. Anyways ill stop my rambling haha, and I hope this does reach you somehow.
Hey, I like the new (to me) format where you're cutting in new camera angles, talking to the camera, with different settings…even some "BTS" type shots. Digging the variety! :)
Again great content. The tik tok style watch selling context by others doesn't cut it. I love how you go into the back story and history and a watch before giving a review of the actual watch. It makes you appreciate and understand what you are seeing when the watch review happens so much more, keep it up 👍
3:10 I’m sure you will absolutely love owning a Hublot Classic Fussion, especially in black ceramic. It’s by far the smoothest winding I have ever felt. Is a watch only priced by it’s movement? Absolutely not! This model is worth every penny.
I tried on the Panomatic lunar recently, after lusting after it for some time, and I really didn't like the thickness and slab sides. The FC tourbillon looks gorgeous, and would be my pick.
Get a Patek. Else you will end up spending more since you will eventually acquire a Patek. I’m glad that I went from Longines back in my school days straight to a Patek dress watch as soon as I could afford it
I've been with you almost from the beginning so will follow this next chapter, like your others with eagerness sir. Hopefully there will be some more of your "walk and talks" out and about. Best of luck in your pursuit of your grail haute horology piece. Look forward to you sharing your journey. All the best and have a fandabidozy weekend 👍
I certainly noticed my friend! I always appreciate that kind of loyal support, it speaks volumes. More "out and about" vids coming, well, VERY soon. Have a wonderful weekend too, O&U! Best regards as always, TGV
Can't say any of your choices are anything less than stellar (although - just my opinion, man! - the GO seems rather outsized, even compared to your Panerai), but I seriously believe the FC is The One. An understated delight, and looks damned near perfect on your wrist. In the end, its all about what does it for *you* long-term. Can't argue against JLC, though. Good hunting!
I wish you great fortune in reaching your collection and grail goals my friend. You have been a great influence on my watch collecting and my education of watches. Marc at LIW too. I am not where you are right now......I find it very difficult to bring myself to sell my pieces. Though as I type this I do have a Rolex and a De Witt for sale. Some day I guess I'll get to where you are now. I do have a core I won't sell ever, but I'm not where you are yet. I do again thank you for turning me on to Breitling, and teaching me what to look for in the "higher end" brands. But I also have a love for the micro brand Zelos.....a brand I still think you should look at. But for now, good luck to you sir. Onwards......Upwards........
I think I’ve decided that the FC Manufacture Moonphase will be my wedding watch. I’ve been impressed by the stuff they are putting out. Plus they were founded in 1988, which is my birth year.
My grail for now is a VC Fiftysix with a silver dial. It has the perfect balance between sportiness and elegance, it’s not completely unattainable like similar watches when you save up for a few years too.
Great video and I fully understand your thought process of slimming down the collection. My suggestion is a JLC duo face. Great for travelling as you can have a different time zone on either side of the watch. I bought my duo face second hand at auction some years ago and I still love it. Greetings from the UK.
The Glashutte Original PanomaticLunar with the white dial is one of my favorite watches. Period! It has the feel of Lange without the corresponding price tag. A watch brand that is often unfairly overlooked considering the quality.
I am cheering for that GO, unbelievable how good they use that negative space on the dial. Moonphase complication is always romantic and I really love it. My choice would be GO, white dial 😊
YESSSS!!!!!! Outstanding observation. I look forward to the full review next month, I am going to note down your point. So true about the romance of the moonphase. Thank you so much for sharing that. Best regards, TGV
The Glashutte PanoMaticLunar has a beautiful dial, but I would suggest considering the PanoReserve as well. I recently ordered the PanoMaticLunar, dealer had some trouble with fulfillment, and we had to cancel the order. After that, I went into another local dealer to see both in person and decided on the PanoReserve. The movement, complications, and 1mm saving on the case height for the Reserve put me over the edge.
I find the tooling involved in manufacturing a watch almost as fascinating as the watch itself. Perhaps a video covering these unsung horological heroes will be forthcoming...?
Fair enough, you don't have the same enthusiasm for watches you used to a few years ago. Absolutely no problem with that, though it does tend to show in the more perfunctory videos you make these days.
I'm hoping that the panimatic calendar will be rolled out in other case materials, bc I LOVE the dial layout. It checks all the high horolgy checks (for me). Also 100 power reserve is awesome
A suggestion for a Reverso: The q3908420. For me one of the most modern iterations of the line yet but STILL in the perfect Grand Taille Case which wears essentially like a 36mm round watch size-wise. Two time zones and two mesmerizing dials. It‘s a shame JLC discontinued the grand-taille size for this model. But IF you can get your hands on one - definitely try it on at least! My favorite purchase of all time
Great video bloski, I would go with the Glaus. I been personally in love with that piece for years. It's Slewer by the way, name handle change, still the same channel. Bless up🇬🇧👊🏾
BTW.....I also have a Glashutte PanoMaticCalandar Lunar myself. It was inherited from my late father, among many others. White gold, absolutely gorgeous. Looks very similar to the one you featured here. Its a great watch.....though a bit fragile with respect to the crown winding mechanism. Enjoy it for a while.
@@theurbangentry I wish I could tell you about his collection sir. I think you’d appreciate it. He to me was the definition of style and class. I miss him.
Dear TGV, if I had to pick one watch that suits you best from my perception of your character - gentleman with style and elegance - it would be the JLC Reverso, not a diver. I believe the hype of dive watches will come to an end, and dress watches will become more popular again. Never go with the stream! 😉 Cheers from Germany!
This is my FAVORITE watch channel. I’ve learned so much. Not just regarding watches, but I’ve learned how to be a classy Man. I lost my Father at a very young age, so this channel has been a God send. So much substance. So much charm. Thank you Sir… 🙏

I don’t often watch your videos however when I do take the time to sit down I marvel at the work you put in to each one. You are a class act
TGV you truly are an inspiration to me. Thank you for your classy yet fresh view on editing and of course your fine taste in watches.
🙏🙏🙏 I am honored and flattered sir! Thank you, O&U!
The very best of regards,
TGV
Well done tgv I admire your discipline when it comes to you scaling down your collection 😂👍
I've had a couple of FCs and am always blown away by the quality for the cash. So many beautiful watches. I hope you get your keeper.😊
👏👏👏👏
Thank you Jimmy,
Best regards,
TGV
Great video and beautiful watches. That Glashutte is stunning! Can't go wrong with either one. Cheers my friend!
I'd go for the more FC for its price for a Tourbillion and more simplictic dial. Otherwise A Lange & Sohne for quality, design, detail and high price if you can get one. Good luck!
Following TGV since the NYC days. I’ve grown and learned much from following his journey. Truly a gem!
🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 Thank you my friend, always deeply appreciated.
Onwards, upwards and the very best regards,
TGV
Always walk away impressed with your video quality and substance of your commentary. Other you tubers could learn much from you. Let the hunt begin….🥂
Another winning segment TGV. You're cutting down while my collection grows exponentially. What an insane hobby! All the best.
Thank you, we gotta love the madness, enjoy!
Best regards,
TGV
Wow the Glashutte was amazing! all of the watches are just beautiful pieces of art and heritage.
FC has captured my attention for several years now. Definitely a company to keep an eye on. Glashütte are a favorite of mine. I own several vintage pieces from the 50s and 60s. The model you highlighted is also on my radar.
Loving the Glashutte ... definitely giving me A. Lange and Sohn vibes.
I love where you’re heading with cull… same journey on a third of your budget 😂🙏… pure class TGV
stunning Glashutte
I can’t tell you how much of a sucker I am for F.P. Journe. I already had them on my radar when the went for retail prices… such stunning pieces!
Would love a video on watches you decide to let go and thoughts around that as you condense your collection. Great vid as always!
Some really exciting watches to look forward to TGV. I shall though be grieving for the watches that leave your collection.
Good luck with the grail. From personal experience sometimes grails turn out not to be what you expect. Not because of the watch itself, but how it fits into your life. Especially dress pieces. 🙌🙌🙌🙌 I love that, that makes me happy to hear.
Thank you for the inspiring comment, onwards, upwards and best regards!

Congratulations on the slimming down of the collection.
A Glashütte will be mine one day 😍
Like what every watch enthusiast, collector, connoisseurs, etc. This is a never-ending search for that grail piece. Another sublime video Tristano. Thank you so much for taking us on this horological journey with yourself. Grazie Grazie mate.
Thank you so much!!! O&U!!! Here's to you my friend 🥂😎
Best regards,
TGV
O&U indeed!!! 🧐🍸🥂🍻💪👍
First time seeing one of your videos. Very much enjoyed the experience and like your approach 👍
So many amazing watches in this video! But forgive me TGV, when I hear you say "last grail watch" I can't help but feel skeptical 😂
🤣🤣🤣 Thank you Alex, what can I say, it's a difficult habit to kick.
Best regards,
TGV
For the new subscribers, he's done this before. A couple years ago.
Think of “Last grail watch” as less a material thing and more an ideological concept. 😉
Just on a visual point I have noticed you have changed up your video style recently. A lot more dynamic, and snappy. I really like it! Content has always been great, but I thought I would give a kudos to the hard work you put into the production. Always grateful that we get this for free

Oh my, that blue FC is pure class, indeed ❤️
Watchsnobs approval going down, video quality going up ! Love it !
Say hello for me to Hugo!

i love FC! Nice dress design....
Great to see another video on your channel on German watchmaking, which I think deserves more attention from the watch enthusiast community. Thank you Dave, in that case has a great weekend head, chin chin 😎🥂

Chin chin, and topically one of my grails arrived this week a Heritage BB in black 👌
Congrats my friend, a very worth grail!!!! Enjoy. 👏👏👏
This was a great video in its flow and style. Watches dope too. ✌🏽

Hell yes a new TGV video this will be great as always!
The Glasshütte PanoMaticLunar is the bomb. Best bang for the buck, striking, and my grail watch.
Would be a JLC Reverso for me: undestated long lasting quality and daily functionality, from a brand with an amazing history.

Glasshutte looks amazing 🤩 great watch 👌🏻
16:11 - That's the money shot right there. Either of those two are winners for me.
Would love to see (and hear) a JLC Memovox! My own personal grail...
Hi TGV, You definitely need a Reverso in your collection. It would be perfect for you. I've been very happy with mine for 3 years now. Best regards, John

Love how your collection has evolved, T.

Excited to see where your collection is going!
State of collection this year is going to be an exciting watch.
That JLC tour was the greatest!!!
Good old times :)
TGV, You have come a long way since the days of the Flighty. Onwards and upwards on all of your future endeavors.
Understand that you did consider that option in the past, but I feel like AP for me would be the great Grail watch option)! Thank you for the quality content, as always, Sir TGV! Take care!
That Glashutte has to be one of the most gorgeous watches I’ve ever seen
11:50. I 100% agree with you about Patek. They have fallen off my list too!
That Glashutte is gorgeous. I'd never look at rose gold for a daily piece but my Certina dress watch is made from it and really pulls it off well. It has its place for something special.
I've salivated over the Glashutte Original in rose gold for quite a while. One of the rare watches I would desire in gold.
That FC is truly cool and a great value, but unless you're laser focused on a Tourbillon, still a very large sum. I'd personally prefer the Panomatic. The Panomaticlunar is one of my favorites. Simply beautiful.

It makes you appreciate and understand what you are seeing when the watch review happens so much more, keep it up 👍
I saw you wearing that Squale. I'm totally getting one of those... Ohhh, yes.
Ooo yes, I have to he black COSC, and I’m really lusting for the blue, but COSC or no COSC 🤯
@@wonderwatch2239for me it'll be the blue COSC or the titanium master x. Islander may have a few of those left.
Best regards as always,
TGV
Fantastic video TGV.
The Glashutte Original panoreserve is my grail watch as I'll never afford the AL&S Lange 1.
The Glashutte was the best. No question. You have my permission to pull the trigger on this one.
I have the Green dial Panomatic Lunar, I love it.... such a beautiful watch...
You know what I am going to say, pure class! They do moon-shades especially well.
Thank you and congrats in advance.
Best regards,
TGV
Not on the subject of watches at all, but... I love your a la James Bond intro music so much, I had to Shazam it!
Anyway... I must be dreaming ☺️
My grail for now is a VC Fiftysix with a silver dial. It has the perfect balance between sportiness and elegance, it’s not completely unattainable like similar watches when you save up for a few years too.
Great video! I'm intrigued as to how bad that Breguet event was now though.
Best regards,
TGV
@@theurbangentry really really looking forward for that review 😊👍
You work hard , very good montage
That intro is killer!
Mr. Gentry…
You’ve taught me that you don’t have to be ACTUALLY wealthy to BE wealthy…
Thank you Brother…
From the VERY bottom of my heart.
Thank you.
I'm hoping that the panimatic calendar will be rolled out in other case materials, bc I LOVE the dial layout. It checks all the high horolgy checks (for me). Also 100 power reserve is awesome
The panomatic lunar is one of my grails, such a beautiful piece!
WOW, your late father had style and taste. What a cool way to remember him
Thank you my friend. O&U.
T.
If you can afford it a JLC Reverso (for me a duoface) is almost a must have in a high end collection.
Wehay first comment. Awesome TGV!
Ahhh second :(
You must follow through with the Japan trip, micro artists studio, Grand Seiko, Ginza and Credor.
