- Finally we head to Liverpool to start the Leeds to Liverpool Canal , 127 miles over 3 days in testing conditions to say the least.
Day one we set off from Liverpool around 11 am and finding a camp spot just after Appley Bridge.
I will be doing it as 3 episodes, as this is much easier to edit. I have so much footage to sift and sort !! But hoping to have next episode out later next week.

You really can't beat a pub crawl with a bit of cycling thrown in! Being half cut, up the cut is definitely my style. Thanks for taking us along.
Great video of the 1st day mate, thanks for filming it and putting it together, lots of unseen work, really nice to look back on⛺️🚲👍🏻
Did this route in two sections, a long way but good route especially over the pennines.
Now I could get on board with a canal ride. Lack of hills and all that. Good trip Dave
I don’t know that area at all, so found the ride fascinating - thank you for sharing. Off to see day 2 now 🙂
Now that's the way to do it - sampling the fayre at the local hospitality houses as you cycle along 😂😂 I like Ian, he's teaching you bad habits lol. It looked like a good trip (apart from losing your waterproofs, I wonder if you'll ever get those leggings back?) but dear me some of those sections were a full on mud bath, I'm surprised no-one skidded in to the canal. Looking forward to the 2nd part of the Leeds - Liverpool special :)
Great adventure it’s on my bucket list my lad did it but stayed at hotels off course 👍🏻🚴
Did this a few years ago but sadly the good pub stops were few and far between. It's more challenging than many assume because you earn every mile (few downhill freebies). A very diverse route in terms of scenery and history and very enjoyable.
A grand start to the trip (apart from dropping the waterproofs) and the big plus so far is the weather, mind nobody likes a headwind. Thats a great wee spot for the first night. 40 miles is good considering you had a few beers on the way, do I see a theme starting here 😅🍺. ATB Big Dave Scotland
Running Horses - Lydiate.......It's really funny, all those pubs are familiar to me, but I've never been in them on a ride.
Fabulous. Walked the LLC and now planning to Bikepack it. Going to watch the rest. I have loads of questions about your choice of camps.
i note the sound clip of "leaning on the everlasting arms". and i'm old enough to remember the sons of the pioneers take.
My kind of trip, stopping at every pub LOL!
great stuff path looks a bit rough but fantastic route .you should tackle the midi canal in france .
weather good ☀️ plenty refreshment stops 🍺then you loose your good overpants so annoying dave 🚴👍
I really detest those grey gate things. I lived close to the canal for years - it's not that far now really. I've done that ride a few times now on different bikes over the years. I've used The Navigator in Blackburn as a pit stop a few times, inn on the Wharf Burnley, The Black Swan in Hebden Bridge. Last outing that way was 2022.
Nice one Dave , shame about the paclites , I’m concerned you weren’t hydrating properly - only 3 pints ? Regards Mick
What is that rear bag at 1.37 brand model cheers
I hope ur still on this ride im 2mins from the canal in Worsley
What was the barge doing at 03.50?
