Hey my bad guys. After reading the fine print on the judges' scorecard it appears that round 2 (where Kai pulled ahead) was the posing routine... Oops! Oh well not re-recording at this point :P. Check the official scorecard in the description.

all good man. It seems as though at least to me that Kai won the 2nd posing round. He did make major improvements and to me this is where Kai pulls ahead so you were accurate either though it was a mistake
Kai's torso is so short that he looks like he's had two vertebrae removed.
xanthromera yeap and i can only name two guys with shorter torso than kai, that is william bonac and charles griffin.
Especially in the lat spread.
Similar to ronnie but ronnie compensates with ridiculous width, longer thorax and probably bigger ribcage than kai.
But kai obviously destroys ronnie on everything in the abdomen, maybe minus obliques

Kai just looks absolutley fucking insane in the lower body. At the night show it literraly is just no contest. Even though I love Cedric's overall strucutre.
Cedrick is structualy better but Kai is a better body builder

Cédric: better arms, better V taper, better structure bones, better forearms, shoulders and abs.
Kai: better legs, better glúteos, better calves, better lats and back (the best of him), better peaks of bíceps.

Mohammed al raky he genetically doesn't have separation in his traps. Nothing he really can do to improve that.

I actually prefer the long format videos. I don't even watch most of nick's anymore because they're all like 2 minutes long. The LUI is making some short ones too, but unlike nick, is putting out some worth clicking on. Propah!

2 years have gone and these are the three BB youtuber I follow. The Lui went down not really new content. Although he introduced me in BB, like someone said "Nick is like Lui, but without the down syndrome". Bold statement, but summs up pretty much: Nick talks better. He talks as smooth as Tom. These two have the voice and style, that pleasing to listen. Then Nick became big and started the shallow content. I liked him better with the analysis videos. This is why I stick to Tom. Don't change man!

I'm going off the nightshow because the lighting is superior and the camera angle is better.
FDB - Cedric has better lat flare and taper, and he has a thinner waist. His bicep, tricep, and quad sweeps are worse. Kai's legs destroy Cedric's. Notice the vascularity that Kai has and Cedric doesn't. I give this to Kai, but it's reasonably close.
FLS - Kai's legs obliterate Cedric's legs. Quad sweep, vascularity, separation, size, and even the calfs are superior. Cedric isn't as sharp in the upper body either. Compare Kai's seratus and Cedric's at 10:56. Look at the chests too, Kai's is striated while Cedric's is soft. To me, Kai wins this pose by a landslide.
BDB - See, I don't understand why people say Cedric's back is thick and detailed. Look at the difference in their lat thickness. Kai has a distinct shelf of muscle where his lats start. Cedric doesn't even have a distinct line for when his lats start. Kai's bicep and tricep sweep are crazy, though his forearms and traps have much to be desired. Kai's shoulders are also much smaller than Cedrics. Kai's lower body obviously superior. I give it to Kai by a reasonable margin.
BLS - I agree that Kai's 'flow' in this pose is garbage. The way Kai's posing, it emphasizes is traps. Since they are so weak, it looks like his back is a bunch of soft balloons with a missing spot in the middle. That hurts his proportions badly, so I think Cedric wins this one. I beleive Kai has the potential to win, but he NEEDS spread his lats more like Ronnie or Dorian.
ST - Cedric is picturesque. He wins because of how....awkward Kai is. It's like Kai's emphasizing his tricep when that's the least impressive part of the pose for him. Cedric's tricep sweep is INSANE. It makes him look crazy good here. Cedric is also turning just enough too at 13:21. His lat is making his upper body have a massive Vtaper which is awesome. Cedric wins by a landslide.
SC - I give it to Cedric because Kai's midsection makes his crazy sweeps MUCH less impressive while Cedric's tiny waist makes his muscularity that much more impressive.
A-T - Cedric has a way thinner waist while being taller. Kai is much denser and more conditioned, but he really sacrificed his mid section to make that happen. I give this pose a tie.
MM - This is Cedric all day. Kai's MM sucks, because it emphasizes all the muscles he lacks. Kai's small forearms in particular make his arms look like twigs.
I give it to Cedric, 4-1-3 It was a super close contest. The takeaway from this competition is that posing makes or breaks a bodybuilder, and Kai's posing, as fluid as it is, it doesn't emphasize the best parts of his physique. Kai's SC, BLS, ST, and MM need some serious work in the posing department. He nails the poses, but they aren't accentuating his body well. Kai should mop the floor with Cedric because he's bigger and more conditioned, but he's just not making his strong points known. This is just my two cents though.

Excellent comment, great observations. What you've said about Kai's posing is painful but true. Painful, because Kai is probably the most acrobatic and skilled in a sense in the current roster, he is a top 5 poser in BB history, but only considering the posing routines, not the efficiency of mandatories. He should have a talk with Dorian Yates maybe, who could emphasise his strong points and hide his weaknesses very effectively. I don't know how an intelligent and observant guy like Kai could be such neglectful about his own posing.
I don't know either. Dorian Yates is IMO the most efficient poser of mandatories in history. He was able to turn poses that should have been very weak for him, (His side tricep, Ab and thigh, even his Back double biceps wasn't hampered by a missing bicep. He had crazy efficiency.) into some of his strongest. Kai hasn't done that, which really sucks. Like, it's straight up painful to watch, because he could have beaten Phil in 2014 and 2015 if he had just made a few adjustments on the mandatories.
I'd give ab and thigh to Kai no question.

The only thing Kai has going for him is thickness is the lower back and low lat insertions. Cedric has much more even development throughout back and far superior traps.

Normally I'd probably agree but Kai didn't quite look his best here from the back. It just has no balance between his upper and lower back. His lower lats are crazy thick, sure, but his traps are tiny and his delts are getting over-shadowed by Cedric as well. Cedric is also more conditioned. Combined with Cedric's smaller waste and I honestly think his back is better in this show. Mind you, Kai makes up for it in the wheels
@@herculssatan5883 First of all, we're talking about back, shoulders have nothing to do with your back, secondly, lats make up most of your back, Cedric is way more aesthetic and I'd rather have his body, but he's much inferior in that department, no thickness going on.
Lastly, Kai is way more conditioned than Cedric here, are you kidding me? Look at the ab n thigh. Cedric is full of water while Kai has dry muscle everywhere. Same goes for the side chest side tricep front double and everything in between. Cedric is holding water, Kai's obviously too, but to a way lesser extent.

i think kais back lat spread looks so weird because of how incredibly developed and thick they are. its ironic that if maybe they were smaller his traps would seem larger and more separated.

I agree. Kai's lower lats are just ridiculous, they stick out like a shelf! But Cedric's overall detail (especially through the traps/upper back) and taper is better
That, and Kai's lats and legs overpower his other body parts in his back poses. His shoulders, forearms, and Traps look non existent because of how overwhelming his other body parts are. That lack of complete development really hurts him imo.

Kai is overrated imo, he's a Blockbuster with a head like the Predator, his legs & lower lats are fully developed but I think he would have been better suited to the 212 division which would have imposed limitations that would have prevented him from looking so stunted.
Both of them looked great Cedric wins pose for pose this was an awesome battle both of them could have won

Kai has an awkward physique imo. Cedric had better structure but both have a lot of flaws. Cedric has a decent back but it’s not amazing, plus asymmetry.

There is no such thing as better aesthetics.
The sense of aesthetics is very subjective and immeasurable.
For me, Kai Green looks more aesthetic.
He is also much more muscular.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but so far I have not seen a vacuum pose done by Cedric.
He's abs is also extended and additionally split.
I would rather prefer looks like Kai than Cedric.
But this is only my subjective opinion.

I think many people (including Arnold himself) would've picked Ced as the winner if it weren't for the posing routine. In fact, if you look at the scores, Cedric WOULD have won according to the judges if the posing wasn't counted

That's a tough one! I don't even know what it would be off the top of my head. Conditioning-wise probably 2012 but then again he was a little smaller and flatter that year

I feel Kai was given the 2016 Arnold Classic title since he wasn't competing in the Mr Olympia. Kai was riding on his popularity and Arnold used that to promote his show..

I think this was a very bias review. We all love Cedric, but Kai smoked him in the night show and in the posing round.
I said he pretty much smoked him in the night round didn't I? And yeah I was wrong about the posing round... thought it was close because usually they have the routines at the end and even Weinberger in the interview was saying several of the judges voted in favour of Cedric because they're Europeans and they prefer that classical style... but apparently those judges votes were just the outliers that got cut! lol

I'm on to agree with Cedric's look if I was ever to go beyond 230-235 lbs I would love to be a monster with the lines and flow of Cedric just beautiful, bodybuilding done right.

I might bust it out on occasion in the future since I do see quite a few of you missing it but not every time. #1 it's gotten kinda boring for me and #2 it got a lot of negative feedback so that's why I mostly stopped doing it

I think that the front lat is taken by Ced. His lats are more full (more dorian style) and kai looks always with the straight delt trap situation (no separation) plus ced's quads look more defined. Just my opinion.

Kai's gut was just too much for me in the SC and he's not showcasing his chest very well. He has the potential to whoop Cedric in that one with all his extra thickness but loses because he doesn't hit the pose well.
Yeah, Cedric has quite an overall presence in the side chest. How elegant and balanced he is (on top of his muscle quality)

I think that the IFBB needs to mandate that the front double biceps pose should be performed with no torso twisting or bending.
It's hard to compare development when Kai hits it so asymmetrically! Why is he doing this, and what deficiency is he hiding?
I don't think he looks good the way he hits it. He twists his body and holds his arms so high that his lats are diminished and his waist then looks wider!! It just doesn't look right. I think Kai's posing is bad, and that includes his free posing which is more of a dance routine and he doesn't hold any pose long enough to appreciate it!

It's conditioning plain and simple. He's got the mass structure muscle bellies and complete development to hang with the best of them. But Cedric is notoriously bad when it comes to consistently nailing his conditioning

@@pierrebenites2115 he doesn't do it because it sucks lol. Very short biceps and triceps insertions, weak forearms, mediocre shoulders and chest and a blocky waist. Don't you dare put Kai in the same sentence with the great Kevin Levrone in the most muscular. Kai always looks thin and weird in this pose and Cedric smokes him. Also you can't "not care" about it, it's a mandatory pose and has the same weight as every other mandatory pose.
Kai is too thick for Cedric, especially in the legs. Cedric in prejudging cuz Kai was so off but Kai beats him easily on the night show. The right man won.

Actually Arnold was right! I made a mistake assuming Round 2 was the night show when really it was the posing routines. That's where Kai really pulled ahead and it's the only reason he won because if the routines weren't scored, Cedric would've prevailed.
But im not sure Kai got the nod because he was a better poser (isnt that what Arnold stated or implied), it just turned out Kai's physique improved dramatically at the night show which is the posing round.
No the posing round (round 2) is the routines. The night show is the confirmation round (round 3). I got it mixed up so apologies about the confusion!
