I want the chair to Recline but not rock. Is that possible? Why would you take the whole mechanism off? This makes no sense if you still want a recliner.
Could you name what some of the rocking parts are? My chair is not rocking right and I think it's some bushings or bearings that have broke. Its towards the back of the mechanism. They are held in with rivets. Not sure what they are. But now chair rocks bad when it goes into the backwards motion.
Hi Kellie, if you remove the metal rocking mechanism the chair will no longer recline. That metal mechanism actually holds the footrest to the chair so by taking off that part you could no longer attach the footrest. D
Miss Kellie. I will tell you what I am trying out. If it’s a wooden rocker base. I screwed in four couch legs two front two not all way to back, where it is thicker wood. Then I took some books and placed them under front base rite next to footrest. But you can just try some books 📚 first.

Split them into 2 since a while !!! I was pushing them in than out. Phew !!!
Why are you taking off foot rest
Ok....you disassembled it. Now reassemble it and make it a standing recliner! Otherwise, what's the point?
Hi! Please see our other video - "Installing a Rocker Recliner Mechanism" on our channel. Hope this helps!

What do you put on the bottom of the chair after removing the rocker recliner mechanism? Do you attach chair legs?

How do you reattached the back when its mounting point has been removed? The back slides on to the mechanism that you just removed?
If I remove the rocking mechanism will it still recline? My grandpa has difficult getting up because his chair rocks but like to recline.
