PART III: MY Rolex Sports Collection update
Congratulations buddy! Really happy for you. I can totaly relate to your feeling of „relief“. Hope you enjoy the watch in good health and can „relax“ on the hunt for a bit :)
Congratulations! I got the call myself for the very first time yesterday and I found your channel after being so excited. Thanks for the videos and content.
Enjoy your new Rolex!
Many congrats, SC! Beautiful watch. Very happy for you! Enjoy!
Glad you caught this video! (I surely remember you viewed on one of my previous videos)
Very happy for you and congratulations on your successful journey. I hope the Daytona won't mean that we'll lose out on your great videos in the future, they've been a joy to watch each time. Well done and all the best to you!
You guys were a big encouragement. Thanks for keeping me going!
@@sc1 I go bye bye-bye get down hurry up Andrew booty
I'm going to try to keep posting and experimenting with videos. My new Milgauss video went in a slightly different direction...
@@sc1 Your trip commentary videos with the occasional watch talk were some of your best videos.
Congrats on the new aquisition! I'm waiting also for the white dial daytona. Hopefully soon the AD will call. Last week I picked up the same blue skydweller that you have 😍
Whoa, Blue Sky is very difficult to acquire. You should be able to get a Daytona relatively soon.
That’s awesome, congrats! Quick turnaround too. I’m not well versed on Chronographs, but I would always opt to not overwork anything unnecessarily.
I'll stop the Chronograph some of the time, but keep it running while I'm wearing it.
It might seem like a quick acquisition, , but in reality, I've been wanting something like this for 3 years...
Congratulations , enjoy in good health , I feel the same about grey market. I've purchased my time pieces from one AD.
Thanks. The watch feels much more special knowing I got it from the AD.
An absolute masterpiece, Congratulations! this is a beautiful Daytona!!!
Thanks!
Nice watch, I prefer the same watch without the diamonds but wouldn’t turn my nose up for either they are hard to get
With Diamonds 👌🏽🤤 wao! what a great acquisition, and a great owner that loves his pieces. Congrats and enjoy! This one looks collectible and unique
I'm very happy with this. The diamond dial just looks more substantial, and the sub-dials are beefier than the stock dial. Adds more value, and not as common.
I hope you get your Polar Explorer II. I just need the Explorer 36, then I'll take a rest.
Big congrats on this pick up SC! I also like how you talked about the hunt, very interesting. I like the diamond set on this piece, suit very well with the 2 two set up. Enjoy it in good health!
Thanks, I like the diamond dial better than the regular dial.
Alright! Congratulations! That’s exactly the Daytona I would want if I couldn’t get the all black ss one. And I can’t so… what a feeling you must have to finally get one from the AD. I’d like to see how you style it with your outfits.
He was very honest with me about putting me on The List. Great Experience. I wonder how long it would have taken to get a white gold Daytona. But I’m very happy with this one. Two-tone gets an undeserved bad rep. But it’s beautiful and classy, and it’s cheaper than full gold.
If all the black dials were available today my preference would be: white gold > two-tone > steel
(but I already have white gold GMT, so maybe that’s too much overlap)
I love two tone Daytonas! Congratulations!
Thank you. Two Tone is still under-rated, but I think getting more popular.
Congrats!!!
You make really good content. Not only the watch reviews, but the videos, where you take the watches on short trips. I am surprised, that your channel isn't bigger and more popular. Maybe try to add a logo/picture and change the name, because it could be hard to find it. Also some intro music/animation, like the "London Watch Collector". But the content quality is really great, I am excited about your next videos! Greetings, from a watch enthusiast from Vienna.
Appreciate the suggestions and compliments!. I started out with very poor quality videos, but slowly getting better. I haven't really gotten into promoting my channel at all. I'd rather not start on other Social Media platforms just to steer traffic here. Don't like to talk about me personally very much.
I still haven't been able to think of a catchy name for the channel -- since I randomly throw in some other subjects besides Rolex. Logo shouldn't be too hard, so I'll work on that. I do include music in most videos, but yes, it would be smarter to stick with a "theme."
Congrats, sir!
Thank you!
Congratulations, and great video.
Keep the chronographs running. I like the look of the sweeping hand, and it doesn't add additional wear and tear to the watch. It's a Rolex, they're built tough.
Right on
Beautiful Collection 😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Incredible piece. Wear it well, my friend!
Thank you kindly!
Bought it 2 months ago and love it!
Cool.
Congratulations sir!!! however you earned the watch as soon as you had the money to afford it! if you find it close to retail on the grey market then by all means!! That doesn’t mean you are cheating!
Big congratulations, beautiful piece. The video is well done as well and a pleasure to watch. I will have a big reveal soon as well :)!
Cool. I want to see what you have. You need to give us a hint 😘
When will your new reveal video be up? I just posted an update video to my Rolex Milgauss.
Congratulations from Sydney.
Welcome back! I stuck with conventional the AD process here -- purchase history, building trust, wait-listing -- however difficult and time-consuming, it seemed to pay off.
That watch is absolutely gorgeous. Rolex has the unique absolutely to make extremely bright and shiny, which normally appears as lacking in true quality, seem of the highest quality. But they really made you kiss the feet for that watch.
Congratulations it’s difficult to get the exact piece you want the diamonds are a bonus it’s a beautiful piece wear it in good health thanks for sharing this with us 👌🏻
Diamonds are a positive for me. I was originally on the list for the White Gold with Diamonds. When they called, I though for a second if should wait for the White Gold, but I'm very happy with this one.
Forgot to mention in the video, but About two years ago, I was offered a white gold Daytona on Oysterflex, but I declined and held out for the full white gold -- but that never came. Now I learned to take what is offered.
Beautiful, thanks for sharing. The newer 2023 model diamond dial not sure I like it compared to this. I’m not a diamonds guy but this looks fantastic. The new TT black dial non diamond could be an option for me but not sure I’ll like the thinner sub dials.
I’m not a diamond fanatic either, but my version diamond dial Daytona works well with me. It adds some extra sparkle and spinazz, but it’s never in your face. it works well as an everyday piece.
Congratulations.
Thanks!
Congrats! I am still waiting for a white exp 2 after 16mos.
I was losing hope on this one, but now I know these things are possible. If they truly put you on their ‘List’ or ‘Register’, I think they will eventually call. Good luck!
I’ve got a 116505 Everose Daytona black dial and a 116503 like yours, 0011 black diamond dial.
It’s a great watch to wear every day.
Sometimes I wonder if they are too similar and whether to sell one of them -- then I slap myself back into reality. They were so difficult to get new from the AD!
@@sc1 they are similar but at the same time very different.
For instance the two tones is easy to wear every day. The Everose gold Daytona is a watch to wear every now and then.
I bought a rolesor Daytona with gold dial with diamonds in 2010 for $13500 AUD. They were so easy to buy back then, no waiting list.
Those were the days... I bought a Submariner Date in 2005 for $5K, just a 4 week wait to order it.
@@sc1 I don’t think we’ll see days like those ever again
Welcome to the Daytona with diamonds! I call mine "Lucy in the sky with diamonds".
Congrats on your beautiful piece brother, wear it in good health 🙏🏼🙏🏼 I’m currently lusting over the panda Daytona and an Oyster flex Rose or yellow gold 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I know the feeling. Pandas are unicorns. Chances are better to get an Oysterflex. They look awesome too. Best of luck!
@@sc1 hey bro hope everything is good with you, I see you’re on a roll buying so many nice pieces, just wanted to tell you that I received my Daytona 🐼 today. I’m super hype 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
awesome, congratulations! I was beginning to think the panda was a mythical creature.
@@sc1 thanks 🙏🏼
I got one it’s a gourgues watch very nice
Daytona look best with the Denzel dial. You made a good choice
The diamonds seem to add extra value to this one.
Love the Daytona design, but this design is to garish for me with the jewels and gold combo. For me something more subdued and subtle is preferable. But congrats on your purchase! An incredible purchase indeed!
Thanks, it is great size and shape to the case. I have enough subdued Rolex (Sub, Exp, Exp II, black OP) so I wanted this one to be blinging.
Great choice , i love the two tone Daytona . Well done and enjoy ❤
I love the two-tone also. A great value for the money, and a nice mix between steel and gold.
Btw, check out the ym2, even if you don't boat race, it's a great egg timer! But if you do boat racing, get the all ss version, gold is just a waste because you will scratch the bracelet (gold is a soft metal compared to ss).
I tried on the YM2 a few years ago. it was too massive for my skinny wrist. if it came in 40mm, I would get it.
Congratulations man!! Question, how are you getting these watches? I live in Washington DC and have about 7-8 different ADs within 20miles and have been waitlisted for over 2 years… still nothing smh
Good question. I should have addressed this in the video, but I was already going long. I live in Pennsylvania, and I still needed to drive 2 hours to find this AD that has more stock in display, and friendly and willing enough to take my request. This area is less populated, less affluent… so that might be key.
I totally understand the struggle in big cities, but maybe smaller AD’s might be the answer.
@@sc1 You make a great point. Guess i’ll have to do the same. Love your vids, thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work!!
Where did you buy this Rolex 116503 from
Don’t stop making videos your collection is amazing you should make an Instagram
Thank you, I will hopefully keep making additional videos.
Thats what we may call ……. ALL !!!! ….. i may not be able to afford even a datejust sir … can’t imagine just wearing one … if i do , then i can call myself COMPLETE … very inspiring video sir !!!! Salute
They are very aspirational pieces. They are not necessary, but any one of them is enough to make you feel like a million bucks.
Congratulations. So beautiful.
Did you have a two tone white dial Daytona before? I recall that you sold it a while back. I might have mistaken.
Shhh! I cut that out of this video, but I did have a white dial TT. Somehow, for some reason, I didn't connect with it. The white dial and yellow gold didn't seem to work well together -- maybe too low contrast. Maybe it didn't mesh with the rest of my collection.
But anyway, after that, I always knew I wanted a black dial Daytona. This video was just focused on my Black Dial Daytona hunt.
@@sc1 now I got you :-)
I’m glad you got the black dial one and enjoying it.
Thanks for still following my videos. I haven't heard from you for a while.
@@sc1 Still watching your videos. You could see how they have improved over time. Keep up the good work...
Am 8 months on a wait list for this watch without the diamonds. One of your commenterss below mentioned that ADs are dumping this model on people. I wish they'd dump a little faster!!
People are clamoring more and more for any Daytona. The last one I saw available in a display case was 3 years ago (a full yellow gold). Now they are all selling before they hit the case.
But it's worth it to wait on the list. They always want to be sure you won't flip the watch. I'm glad I didn't fall for the temptation to buy on the gray market (I was close). Much more satisfaction to get it from the AD.
i got mine after 8 months on the list was a bit suprised at first got told it was a 5 plus year wait
@@ahussain853 Every AD is different. One AD told me they expect it to be a 6 month wait, but I was still waiting after 18 months. Then this AD told me I could get one very soon, and it came in 7 weeks later.
@@sc1 Just got mine today. SOOOOO GLORIOUS!!!!!
@@structurescience AWESOME! Congrats!
Very nice 👍👍👍
Thanks for the visitk
Congrats! Finally picking this one up with the champagne dial for champagne papi. Cheating though. Had to go grey market. Just. Can't. Find. One.
yeah, I was trying for about 2 years before I got this
I would keep trying for the gold Daytona. It will come eventually
i acquired the yellow Gold Daytona after this one, so I don’t feel the need for a white Gold anymore. I’ll focus more on the steel black dial from now on.
Congrats with the purchase. Are you planning to wear it?
Of course. Wearing it now.
@@sc1 wear it in good health inside and outside 👍
Congratulations. I’ve been a bit disappointed with Rolex recently. My DayDate gains just under 4 seconds a day. How are yours keeping time?
My wife's Datejust is running 10 seconds/day slow, after 4 years of wearing. I just sent it in for regulation. I haven't noticed any problems with mine. Maybe you could take it to a Rolex AD, some of them have a watchmaker in-house that might be able to regulate it back to specs.
I’m pretty sure the exhibition watches don’t have movements in them
I think some of the very early exhibition examples were empty of movements, but the current ones are fully functional Rolex.
Man sell that blue skydweller to me
Just moved it over to a different box! 😉
how did you get so rich?
Why is it so hard to get a steel ceramic daytona?? I just want the black dial
everyone still wants a steel daytona. AD’s are only going to give it to their favorite customers.
What is the retail price?
19.9 in the US
how much was the Daytona at retail?
$19,900 when I got it
What was the retail price??
$19,900 (last year)
stopped. power reserve goes decreases etc etc etc
I don’t understand
Ad definitely dumped that one on you and got out of a bad situation for them…two tones are getting easier to get now days especially anything diamonds dealers wanna dump as fast as they can
I hope God hears you 🙏🏽, because I would love for them to dump a Daytona Two tone on me 🤣
@@frankv7068 I’m sure if you ask you can have one in one to two months with minimum purchase history…I got offered one in white dial with diamonds I declined it….months later another dealer called me up for bluesy.
@@bigmeech8715 I live in NYC and in Miami FL, these ADs are saturated with requests. I bought a Tag and a Panerai and I been on the wait list for a simple Polar Explorer 2 for over 3 years no one calls me.
@@frankv7068 fair enough…in your defense new York is a harder battle to conquer regardless of brand…LA I hear is a lot more lenient…here in Minnesota supply is steady with undesirable models such diamond watches, dj or 2 tone dj, solid gold pieces in certain models [example YM2 or full gold root beer]…..if your not afraid to travel you could get something for sure
Current Rolex catalogue has no Daytona in white dial configurable with diamonds (if so please mention reference number). Diamonds are only available with black dial, in PM or TT. I was solely interested in the black dial Daytona. I actually like two-tone, and diamonds are an extra bonus for me -- adds more value at a minor cost.
In my area, there are no Daytonas (in any variety) available for the asking (even within 12 months), let alone put out in the display case. My ADs are not hurting, they can call up any waitlisted client for an Any TT diamond Daytona, and sell it within 2 days. I wouldn't call that a bad situation for them.
congrats SC
Thanks!
