Hi Guys. What Oasis song would you like me to do a lesson on next? Cheers, Ben
Ben Wright Uhm....The Masterplan?
Lesson for the Masterplan is up now Tom. Thanks for the request! - ua-cam.com/video/VB7Q8Gx2Su4/v-deo.html
I've been trying the full solo on a perfectly tuned acoustic guitar but when I get to the bend on the 15th fret it sounds completely different, anyone know any reasons for this?
It's probably because the strings are too tight on acoustic so you're not getting the full step bend. If you slide to the 17th does it get to the right note?
It does! I'd been experimenting with it and thought it sounded better and you're completely right, thanks a lot!
No problem mate
Can I ask why for the first 3 licks of the solo, you move from the 7th fret area to the 12th fret and back again, instead of just playing the whole phrase in the same part of the fretboard? Is there some benefit for all that movement?
intro goes: am - em - am - em - am - em -am - E - am... and then am for the verse...
That's not how Gem plays the solo ..... there's plenty of visa on UA-cam of him doing it to refer to
Its the same notes as the record and how he plays it in this video - ua-cam.com/video/iJSIT2UzD8c/v-deo.html - if you want to play it somewhere else, just work out where the same notes can be played in a different position. It's usually possible to play this things in more than one place
I suggest you play it through a few times before you start talking and breaking it down. Way too much detail.
