In this video we install a fresh Vortex ECU into a 2014 Yamaha YFZ 450R. This particular ATV already had an MSD Blaster installed, so we show you the difference between these two products as well when it comes to the infamous "throttle bog". I’m kinda lost here I just rebuilt my 2011 Yfz450r I changed the cylinder to Athena 95mm stock bore and a CP 12:5.1 high comp piston polished the head and changed the stock valves + springs to kibblewhite titanium’s valves & springs ,, but I’m really worried about the programming thing do you think I should run Vortex cuz mine is still stock
sorry, late reply. I think one of the aggressive fueling maps should work well enough...(map 7 or 9) But a custom tune might work even better for a quad with that much work done.
Just buy vortex for my 2020 yfz450r I have rossier r5 exhaust ais delete and stock filter with no lid what maps u guy recommend I have stock engine
Try map 7. Used 5 lo 5 mid and 5 hi to start and go from there :)

Probably map 1 or 7… try them both and see which one you prefer. Im guessing map 7 will treat you best. (Might want to remove the airbox lid though) also: thanks for the sub!!

What settings do you recommend for a 2020 yfz with Dasa shorty, FCI and the vortex
Map 7: 7 lo, 7 mid, 5 hi. (Play with the trim as needed, these settings work great at 1k above sea level) Let us know how it runs :)

What map are you using in the video with the quad stock ?
We left it on the default map and settings (map 1, 5 lo, 5 mid, 5hi) until we added an aftermarket exhaust. Map 1 is for stock engines.
Can you run 91 at all with the vortex
Yes, we run premium in all our bikes
What are those two tabs on the Vortex for?
The 2 wires coming from the vortex are for further tuning and sensors add on. Only for super serious riders usually.

@@efrenrodriguez741 Dirt Unlimited nailed it! The tabs are for connecting to a laptop for additional tuning. Unless you have a VERY specific application, the factory maps should work great! :)
Is it useable for a 2021?
I need an answer to this question as well! Just bought a 21 two weeks ago and cannot stand riding it stock anymore.
yes, it should work fine with a 2021 model.
So my vortex off my 14 should work with a new 21 with no problems?
