- Gilbert Arenas is absolutely right about SGA, but the NBA will pick Nikola Jokic for MVP. SGA is having an outstanding year for the Oklahoma City Thunder. The OKC Thunder are atop the Western Conference and have been led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Gilbert Arenas had some high praise about SGA that gives him the edge over Nikola Jokic for the MVP race. Jokic is better than SGA, GSA, AGS, ASG etc
The better player doesn’t equal MVP. If so how come Lebron or curry don’t have more MVP’s? It’s a narrative award. Jokic lost last year even though he was a better player but Embiid had the narrative along with the numbers to prove his mvp case. MVP was never the best player award

@@accordingtodrew7302Sorry but Lebron lost 2011 against Rose who was a Clear MVP. Same for Harden the year he won or Giannis etc.. on top of that let’s forget about everything. If at the end of the season I ask you to pick one player for your team just base on this season clearly it will be Jokic and if it’s not it will be Luka or Giannis or even (maybe) A.E and that’s the difference. Maybe one more year but this year it’s not enough for Shai..

His next best players are a red shirt rookie and a second year player. He is leading such a young team to top spot in the west. Ant has a nice veteran cast along with a multiple time DPOY and perenial all star in KAT. Tell me who on OKC is as tenured as any of those guys. Y’all let these highlight players fool you into thinking that they’re better. Ant is great but shai is the better player right now and the clear MVP ahead of him and any other player you wanna name. MVP means Most Valuable Player!!! Jokic is better, no denying that. BUT!!I’d argue that Shai is just as valuable to his team if not more than jokic is to Denver this season. Sga has young guys and jokic has seasoned vets yet the thunder have a better record and won the season series against them. This is pretty clear.
