If I recall correctly, there was a dance floor off to one or both sides of the band stand where dancers could take advantage of this great music. However, this particular festival didn't seem to have nearly as many folks interested in dancing as the ones I've attended out on the west coast and in Kalispell, Montana. Lots of dancers there!

I dunno - I kinda like the more up-tempo 1930 version. Probably because it's the version I first heard (and fell in love with).

I love dancing, it's just that this particular festival has few if any dancers. It's not my fault as I was merely an attendee. I choose to go to festivals where there is more dancing, but this one didn't fit the category very well.
    Thanks for watching.

Nothing compared to the Benny Goodman version, but who can match him? :P Awesome playing.

bob boscarato they're both good but I prefer Dippermouth by Oliver, especially the cornet solo in that 1923 recording.

What's your issue with dancing, Sir? This kind of music was made for dancing, back in the Roaring Twenties! You are not one of yon anti-dancing purists, or puritans rather, are ye, by chance? Spoilsports, the whole lot - just won't spit out the broomstick they've swallowed...
