The wireless charging complaint is so ridiculous on a OnePlus device when they give you ACTUAL fast charging AND the CHARGER IN THE BOX. Wireless charging is far less efficient and more damaging to long term battery health. UA-cam reviewers make the same complaints all the time about OnePlus but don’t complain that Apple, Samsung and Google took chargers out of the box and didn’t complain when Apple took away the headphone jack. Wha about those folks who bought nice wired headphones or earbuds? Please keep the same energy for these other OEMs that everyone always seems to have for OnePlus. Other than that, good review. But the wireless charging thing is so irrelevant given everything else that OnePlus has on offer here

Plenty of UA-cam reviews complained at the removal of the charging plug but it's pointless to keep complaining about it, it's been removed. Wireless charging isn't being removed as a feature. I still agree Fast Wired charging is more useful.

I've had OnePlus over the years - Oneplus One, Plus 3T, Oneplus 5, Oneplus 10. Their UI has been mostly stock android with a light UI skin on top (similar to how Sony does their phones). It's pretty good. Not cartoon'ish like Xiaomi's UI

I personally dont get how anyone uses wireless charging. I think OnePlus is just sticking their foot down and saying its pointless which it is. Wireless charge it for 1 hour to get the amount you can get in 5 min plugged.

    • @phandroid
      @phandroid  Рік тому

You obviously don't use wireless charging as it's intended to be used. Put a wireless charger on your desk and you just set your phone down on it after you use it each time. Your phone will have a full charge all the time without having to plug it in.

My story. I had the 15 pro max. Loved it. I had the fold 5. It was cool. Just used my iPhone for many more things. as far as emulators I used Samsung. Then I bought the one plus open. Sold my fold 5. Went to att store to try a fold 6. I liked the sharp edges but one plus is so much better. Wireless charging. I don’t care about. I always use a cable

I had the z fold 4 and I liked using it for watching videos , playing Roblox with my kids lol. I just didn’t like the skinny screen of the front display. It was too narrow for me. So I traded it for an s23 ultra. But now thinking of trading that for a one plus open. Initially wanted that one over the z fold but it was obviously more expensive. I like the wider front display and I always wanted a phone with IR blaster. Only thing I’m hesitant about is the software. I’ve always only used iOS and Samsung phones. So it would be different trying this OS

Great review there! I've recently changed to a OnePlus Open from a Pixel Fold (which I was pleased with) but this is on another planet. It resllys like a mini tablet when open, thanks to the lack of crease. Like yiu said, camera is very impressive. I tried the zoom module at 6x, then was just as impressed at 10x. Then I took a photo of a Robin at nearly 400mm full frame equivalent, it was still sharp with good detail. Certainly one of the best phones I've ever owned. Also, I must be one of the few without any wireless chargers. I do like the fast charging though.

I drive a moto with a 68 watt charger and it charges in like 10 minutes from halfway to full. Take a shower and it's charged. Why would I ever want a 15W wireless that would take an eternity. Only thing I disagree with here is your comments on wireless charging.
    1. Wireless charging hasn't changed much since its inception, the only real change is that Apple jumped on board and brought magsafe to the table.
    2. Speeds are tragically slow
    3. The device is basically unusable while charging, as soon as you pick it up you break the cycle.
Years ago I thought it was great but as time went on my wireless chargers went in a drawer due to the convenience of wired charging. One Plus takes that convenience factor to a completely different level.
I think we need to start letting go of the wireless narrative until the tech starts to catch-up; a 3+ hour charge just aint it!!

amazing foldable yes but the best no fold 5 is still the best but i will say the one plus open is the second best foldable the best 3 things the fold 5 offers is best software, samsung dex , and best s pen support, and features. what the one plus open offers faster charging, better front screen, 2800 nits but for some reason the fold 5 looks brighter

A phone review should be about the phone, not some guy's face.

Whats funny and hilarious is that Google and Samsung claimed their hinge on the Google pixel fold on the z fold 4 and 5 have the best and strongest hinge but many customers have reported that their foldable phones have broken due to the hinge problems. I thought both Google and Samsung said their hinges were strong enough, but both companies have completely failed

These out of touch reviewers need to realize not a single real, human being gives a damn about wireless charging. Never have, never will - especially on Android. Magsafe wireless charging was the biggest push wireless charging has ever had and even that is diminutive.

    • @phandroid

No. OnePlus is a sub-brand of Oppo now with BBK sitting one step higher.
