The initial noise sound like electrical pulse. Noise blanker would take that out...but I will say, the DNR on the 1200 is great. Hardly any watery sound at all. 1200 is probably the best bang for buck radio ever.
Good morning, my friend, could you please help me? I have an FTDX1200 and I'm having trouble putting the messages in CW in menu 027/031. How do I put the messages? It was easy on the FT897, but I can't do it on the FTDX, the manual isn't helping. Thank you.
Hi, could you or someone else tell me if the DNR algorithms are exactly the same as implemented into the FTDX3000 ? Or, maybe Yaesu took back the 15 algorithms that was (not so) effective into the "old" FT2000 rig ? Tnx, 73 de ON6CV.
+buzzsah great receiver and DSP, the built in tuner has a limited range of tuning, anything over 3~1 SWR, it will not tune. So you may need an external tuner. I wish it had a USB connector and a live scope, but other than that, and for the price; yes, I would buy it again. Thanks and good luck.
es un exelente radio el 1200 especial en sus filtros, estoy sastifecho. Javier H. HONDURAS. villanueva cortes 73... saludos.
One of our local hams have one of these radios and I got to operate it. Very nice low noise floor even without any filters.
Yaesu FTdx1200 is a fine rig with many useful features. But I have
to say at the beginning you have to be careful until you know for
sure what you do.
I agree!
Thanks very much for making this video. I am sold.

@@marcoa.v8021 I’m sorry for the delay, regrettably I no longer have this radio and unable to assist at this point.
The results are impressive. May I ask what DNR setting you used in the main menu please? The default setting is “3”.
Have you tried the DNR during lightning crash noise? I'm curious how that would work. The demonstration you showed is very impressive!
marsradio ... good point, not sure about that and locally, we rarely get lightning down here... thanks for your kind comment.
Turn your digital notch filter on it will help

It is the same as the FTDX 3000.
I am thinking of buying a 1200 this week. How has it been working? how is the antenna built in tuner? Would you buy it again? Thanks

+N1CY Thanks, I have been off the air for 30+ years and find it has changed. I just installed the 400 2/70 in the van but need a good HF. Thanks again
Yup
Hi,
I think u never have heard how the DNR works in PicaStar, I`m afraid...
