Had mine for 2+ yrs now and I have cut some big branches. 10"+ and it eats thru like butter. Battery life is great. Ive cut hardwood, fruit trees and sappy pine. ive use other gas versions and I like this so much better. Im a small guy and I can weild this like its nothing. Keeping the chain lubed and sharp is the key. Having already invested in the Makita platform this was an easy investment to make. Ive paid for it several times over due to midwest storms over the last 2 years. People are shocked when I show up with it and they look down their noses at me. Then after Im done they eat their words and pay me extra for the show. WORTH EVERY PENNY.

Great video and Great battery powered equipment. I have started switching over to makitas battery powered landscape equipment.

We have the 13’ one, it’s a dedicated unit. I believe there an attachment pole saw for the power head and there’s a 10’ dedicated unit as well

XUX01 - power head/split shaft 36v, that can insert a pole saw attachment.
XUX02 - power head, in an 18v platform.
XAU01 - 8 foot fixed length pole with 10 inch chainsaw bar
XAU02 - 9-14 foot telescopic pole with 10 inch chainsaw bar.

How does it compare to an ECHO PPT 2620 extending pole saw balance wise? The ECHO is 17.5 lbs dry, and the MAKITA is 18.1 lbs with both batteries, but the ECHO gets rather too heavy when extended.

It’s heavy man, hedge trimmer end is especially weighty, it’s hard work, using the strap helps but sometimes you need that reach

Put a 12inch bar on it and stick it in a 10inch branch and repeat for hours it won’t cut it the 4 strike makita stand alone polesaw is better for a tree business I reckon but whatever works for each person 👍

I didn't test this for the same work load as a tree company but I would be interested. The equipment is more durable than most people think including myself when I first started using it. We primarily do maintenance services and we have all the same electric hand helds since 2018/2019.

Vegetable oil works just as well and is cheaper.
