I re-inmlemented my JukiC-AM into a better position, so I thought I go over what I did and then some you some cool PnP footage I captured using it to assemble a panel of my TinyC6 boards.

I have the urge to watch "Ghost in a Shell". Remember that seen when the robot was fixing 'Majors' arm?

Seems like it's doing the large parts in the middle of the job & then going back & doing more small stuff, requiring more nozzle changes - any reason for this?
Re. specular reflections, it might be helpful to put a circular polarising filter on the camera

Hey Mike :) I use air to push the USB connectors into place, and that means small components nearby can get blown out of place, so I place them afterward the USB, and the Juki just happens to also place other large ICs at the same time as the USB.
I'm not in a hurry when making boards - there are quite a few things I could do to make assembly 2x faster or more, but I honestly don't need it - and I'll take 100% reliability over faster assembly every day of the week.

Pretty amazing! I do wonder what the 2018 Seon would think, if seeing the future Seon’s workshop and manufacturing setup. I think there might have been a “yeah right” in there somewhere. 🤔🤓

Past Seon would never have believe he'd have an RS-1R - Current Seon still can't believe it ;)

@@UnexpectedMaker I remember you from the days of the desktop hicharm 2-head hobby PnP mailing list. You certainly have come a long way since then, congratulations!
I have been following you through the years, and kinda making my own path along similar ways. Now I own a Neoden 9 and like you, still a one-man shop.

It is a beast, but most important, it's 100% reliable, every day of the week.

Is there an up-looking camera to check the pickup position of the part on the nozzle? how is that work on this machine?

I'm missing a bit, does it still have an 'up camera' for rotational correction or was that 'so last year' and done differently now please Seon and always amazing to watch that whole assembly move almost too quick to catch at times !.....cheers.

Jukis have always leaned to using laser alignment instead of vision. Actually Jukis had a bad name in the camera vision department (in the old days). The machine does have vision too, and im sure its much better than its predecessors, but laser alignment is the norm for Juki PnP machines.
The way it works is by rotating the part and observing its shadow, thus working out its size and center of gravity.

I do also have the up camera for working with BGA and larger components than the laser alignment can handle, but the laser wall handles way more parts than I expected, and have not needed to use the up camera even once for far.
