If you think about it, that’s absolutely insane! A person giving you $24,000+ for One old penny. My grandmother used to tell me - "A fool and their money soon part" and I can think of no better example than this. But if I had one of those old pennies, I’d be looking for that fool!
There are plenty of "fools" that would buy that penny. You wouldn't have to look very hard.
If you have 1 of these coins who do you contact?
@@me.myself.and.i.007 you would want to send it in to pcgs for coin grading and shipment insurance, then you could auction it off with Heritage Auctions
I think this is all for views, nobody is buying this for that much
@@Downtime_videos they would its called rarity and coin collecting
I watch your vids a lot because they remind me of my childhood. When I was 5 my grandpa taught me about rare coins and literally taught me everything in the red book he had. I love the new life you’ve brought to this hobby by posting your finds on YT and whatnot. Much love to you and your channel, and I wish you the best of luck finding!

We would look for silver in our change, sure Miss those days ❤
I have it.
My grandparents inherited a coin collection from one of their friends who passed away. They then gave the collection to me. I was stunned to see an album with a beautiful ‘55 DDO casually inside. Unfortunately it’s been cleaned, but it’s still a beautiful thing. They had no idea what they had. And that was just one small part of the full collection.
I did that as a kid. I discovered that an eraser can really clean a coin. However, you erase the value! To me they looked brand new, but I just killed any value! What does a kid know??
Even an eraser can lower the value???! I thought it was only chemical based cleaners that can react with the metal?
@@jklfds85me too? Does it really erase the value?
i popped my coin collecting cherry two days ago when i bought a bag of chips from a vending machine at my job... i got a quarter from 1948 and it was absolutely beautiful and shiny... i work about 2 miles from a coin shop and took it there after i got off and the guy offered me 100.00 cash and i knew then i had something special
Wow! The doubling on that coin is crazy. What a beauty.
I have one. Would you like to buy it for $25,000?
Jk lol
There are 2 versions of this doubled cent. The one he showed and one that is only very slightly doubled. That one is only worth a few dollars. I have a bunch of them.
Its an error, doesn't look pretty at all, just ugly. It's only so valuable because it never happens and it's super rare
عندي هل انت تشتري مني ومعي مجموعه كبيرة
Work in fast food or gas stations. Desperate people break into their old piggy banks and coin collections to buy cigarettes or alcohol. Or even fast food.
One of these days I'm going to check my wheat cents hoard. If I can find some errors or varieties. That would be freaking sweet.

When I was a little boy, I was wondering why my father save all those wheat penny?? Didn't know much about this , til I got 12 years old. That when I got one that to me was mess up! Show my father and he gave me a different penny! Was confused about what just happened! He head up to the house fast! From there I was lost in thought! We were poor farmer, and never understood how he brought a washing machine and dryer three days later!!
Be Appreciative of your Father’s Thoughts of Selling that Coin , and the Fact Your Poor Mother Didn’t Have To Walk a Mile to Mud Creek and Beat your Poor Clothes Clean ! Your Lucky your Father Gave You a Penny in exchange !!! Don’t Dwell On Could have Been Monetary wealth or Maybe’s !!!
That also happened to me but we got a maid a real pretty on in fact.
Just found a 1917 wheat penny in my change. Almost went un noticed. But I have a pretty keen eye sometimes. (Not a coin collector) but anyways just felt different in my hand . Looked at the date and was shocked to see a penny in circulation for 106 years! Regardless of what it’s worth or not worth is irrelevant. Just really cool stuff .
Indeed. Half the fun of collecting is the history. I got back a 1943 steel penny in change once.
@@serimus it's surprising how many 43's I found when I was a cashier, quite a few still in circulation
It's a strange UA-cam recommendation.
I don't subscribe to any coin collecting channels, but I just got a wheat penny for the first time in a long time and put it in my coat pocket.
I saw this ad, so I checked the date on the penny.
It is 1955.
But it doesn't look doubled.
Weird internet coincidence?
Drink a 5th of Crown Royal then take another peek.
I was just thinking today that there's going to be a lot less coins to be found or even used in circulation. That is because more people are going to card purchases rather than using actual cash. I rolled about $50 worth of coins mostly pennies.
I believe that the coins and bills are going to become more scarce. I'm holding on to my coins but I need to learn all about the valuable coins to see if I have any in my collection.
I have several pickles jars full of wheat pennies 😊
Would this coin happen to be a wheat penny. Where can I find the right coindex in order to check the grading myself. Thanks. Stay blessed, be blessed, forever more.
I will be looking at all my pennies from now on. Thanks
I have 1958 penny and two 1955 penny's, so who will buy the penny's
@Pervis Samuels I have rolls and rolls of wheat penny's. They were very common for people to collect.
How do I sell them
I have that penny and would love to sell it as well as a few more rare and valuable coins
Head down to Florida! You will find people in flea markets willing to buy it
"I bought my off grid tiny house for one cent!" 😮 "Really? How did you do that?!" 😊
of course rob’s got a 55 DDO 😭

I enjoy it, something to do and who knows..maybe I'll get lucky.
Anythings possible
I've been looking for one of these since I was 6yrs old. My best friend, a year older, was a coin collector as was his parents. He told me all about this penny back in 1963. Thanks for bringing this up again, I'm still looking for one.
Good luck. Banks, Coin star etc weight coins. Anything pure copper or silver are separated. Even they what theyre worth.
YOU HAVE A PENNY THATS $24,000!!! IM SO JEALOUS I WISH I FOUND THAT COIN. Im gonna look through all my coins today lol
Mine is not worth $24K - it doesn't have a grade on it due to someone cleaning it. Mine is probably more in the $3K range.

Sweet penny
I have collected coins over the years and I have a lot of old coins from wheat pennies/1940 nickels and older/ and old Quarters. My grandfather owned a business and he knew I loved collecting old coins. I'd love to see what these old coins are worth and also have them graded. I also have old coins that are from other countries as well. Id even sell some if the price is right..
55 double die was listed in the books in 1975 at $550. WOW! That's 50x almost up to $24k!
I have a 1919 wheat penny
Hey man how much would a 1947 penny with no mint mark be worth btw your channel is fire 🔥 keep up the good work
1947 is not worth much, about 3 cents.
Legit just went though my grandpa’s 360+ wheat penny collection that he gifted me. Most were from the 30s-50s with some of the oldest being 1912-20s. Took me 4 hrs to put in sleeves and identify each one. Also did not clean any of them. Idk if I have any rare ones like this sadly.
Could I have some please I’m 12 and I love collecting if you see this thanks
You can still sell them for $10 or more
@@ericcarter2020 no you can’t
Just like any collectible you can say it’s worth till your blue in the face but you still have to find the person willing to pay for it
Yep, and that’s easy today with all of the places online to sell!
So true
that's all fine and dandy but where are you going to take it where you're actually going to get $26,000 for one penny?
Certified examples are normally sold via auctions - Stacks Bowers, Heritage, etc. Some will even sell on eBay. You need it to be certified though to fetch a good price.
How long did you work at the mint? Lol. I use to work at the only place that supplies the mint with the penny blank. It was called Jarden when I was there. It's called something else now. But I'm fairly shure they have been producing all penny blanks for the mint since the 70's. We also do alot of work for The Royal Canadian Mint. Mostly anything copper plated. The reason being in Canada they can't use cyanide. All pennies are plated with copper cyanide along with many other copper plated coins.
I can't help but look at my coins..still looking 😊great channel!!
“A man once survived with a penny”
Wait a minute this isnt thecoinchanneltube
It is not. I show coins I own (most of the time). 😬
Can you make a video explaining where to go to auction the pennies? I'm not sure how to go about it.
yo
I just posted mine on ebay it was easy...but no sells as of yet. Only been a few weeks. Lots of "watchers an likes so maybe it will pay off?
@@annabaker322 any update?
I have a penny that has Abe Lincoln on both sides of the penny. One side has the year 1937 on the other side is 1940. Have you seen this before?
I do have a Lincoln penny from 1969
I love, IN GOD WE TRUST & LIBERTY.
Now that's getting your 2 cents in if you come across a doubling penny
You failed to mention that the coin was graded MS66! It is above gem and never in circulation. Never will anyone in the audience ever find one in change.
Is a 1958 no mint mark wheat cent reverse penny worth anything ?
Would have been nicer to tell all the value of the example you showed instead of the highest auction sale of a much higher graded BN example. Love the 1955 DDO!
For sure!
Right on MKRC!!
Good to see you here!
Would have been for sure. Of course I would need to resubmit mine for details grade to get a better idea of it’s value. Had it had a details grade I would have for sure.

Where do sell these there coins to get a good value like some of these men did?
Hey Rob it is 333copper coins.. I had to switch channels to coppercowboy333
I always check my pennies as 1982 and earlier are mostly copper and I collect them for their Cooper content
And copper is hardly worth anything and it's against the law to destroy money.
Cool 😎 📀💿📀💿📀💿💵
And to think mom had tons of these rare coin pennies in a collection. My sister gave t hem to a collector fave value I was told. So that would be about $2-300 and didn't get anymore for the actual value. She gave away our inherentence!
That's an awesome coin to have in your collection.
It's a cent. Not a penny. Technically, a penny is a British coin. I mean it even says "One cent" on it. Just saying
I know this but the vast majority of the population refers to them as Pennies so to keep it easy I use that often. Happy hunting!
I remember seeing one for sale at a coin show, when i was a kid for $100.00. 1963.
gotta love a world that makes a tiny round of copper worth years worth of sustenance.
Of course, he has one. I need a couple of 1943 copper wheat cents, though lol

Omg! I'll have to check my stash. 🙏
The 1955 DDO is the coolest DDO ngl
The point is really wish to see the video when you find a 1955 DDO, I would go nuts if I find one
Another great short!
That's a pretty penny
Your collection is actually incredible, i wouldn't be suprised if he pulled out a 1933 double eagle
Ngl i would be pretty suprised
Then he might go to jail 🤣
Great job brother, beautiful one million times up to your kennel. Question where would I get these coins appraised I am in California and I have many coins.
Could you imagine finding one while coin roll hunting pennies, that would be awesome. The best Doubled Die I have found while coin roll hunting is a 2015 wddo-006 penny. Would also love to find a 1969 S Doubled Die obverse penny.
No way Rob, I didn’t you know you had one of these. That’s mathematical
I have 2, and one I have is probably the best one ever found. It’s flawless. Cannot wait to get it graded! 🙌👊
Are they uncirculated and double dyed? If so I wonder how many are out there ready to be found? Apparently they're more Abundant than thought originally! Lol! It doesn't matter just means more finds and money with them.yah-hoo-oo!🎉🎊🎇🪅!
Them pennies sure do add up!!!
Remember: condition is the largest component of value. The penny that sold for $24,000 was graded MS-66BN by PCGS. The example he showed graded “Genuine” is still worth a considerable sum of money (~$2000) but far short of the finest BN example. In RD the values go much higher approaching $300k for the finest known
I may have one of these. Wld you know who would buy coins I'm new at this. AND SEEMS YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT.
Yes this D-D example is one ,of if not the best , dubbing out there right..... love it and now all I have to do is get out there and find one, two, and hopefully three and then I can sell off two and keep the best example for my collection...... I Love It !!!!
That’s amazing I take 24,000 dollars for a penny.👏👍🇺🇸🍻
I just love collecting old age coins. Silver dimes and quarters🎉
I have a 1943 steel penny no mint ddo on the obverse,it is in rare condition I sent it to a auction and I could not agree with the way I was like being treated and how they wanted to control my money.i put the low amount in as at 250k. I was contacted by the office and I was offered 250k from the auction. That is not what I was looking for . my money is up to me to spend the way I choose to spend money.
I got a ton of wheaties and I'm always looking for this one.
True story when I was a little boy, I tried to buy a roll of pennies off my friend who is six years old. The roll of pennies was completely full all 50 pennies of that same double struck 1955 Penny no lie I don’t know whatever happened to them after that and that time I offered him a lot of money for it. I had a two dollar bill and the way you think kids stink you know two dollars for $.50 I would’ve kept them that would’ve made me pretty rich today and it is a true story I was there.
I have two 1955 wheat pennies, but they are not double struck. I have 20 wheat pennies of different Dates.
Thanks!
Thank you!
I got a buffalo head nickel !! It has no Date , it worn away , and got hundreds of silver nickels. Got some pennies too ..
I’ve got a 1936 wheat penny with no mint mark on it. Took it to the coin shop and was told it’s only worth a penny. Yeah, right. I also recently found a 1943 nickel and a 1946 penny in my change. IMO, getting change in old coins is a sign of hard times-people are spending their stash of possible collectibles.
I remember looking for this coin in the 70s. I see it's still coming around the news once in awhile.
WORTH HUNDREDS OF TENS OF THOUSANDS OF MILLIONS OF BILLIONS.
I had a 1955 double die penny when I was a teenager but had no idea it was worth anything. Kept it for years then put it back in circulation.
I could just imagine how many of those weat pennies must be laying around in landfills throughout the United States? That right readers and viewers. Even pennies adds up to money.
And I thought Rob's hunt videos were great. The shorts are just as good. I bought a scale... Santa's bringing me a scope, too!
I got one now yup and the date is 1953 it's legit true it's worth 24gs hustla baller😊
The only one I found so far is a 1946 Philadelphia wheat penny it's worn and circulated but for me just starting it was a awesome find
Mine has a strange story I believe..when I was a kid I received a penny in change. I remember looking at it and I thought it was my eyes crossing. Move ahead 20 years, my wife’s grandfather collected coins and would get 10.00 in pennies weekly to look through. We all lived in the same small town, one bank. Long story short she received his collection and it had a 55 double die. At least he knew what to look for. I always thought this could be that penny from so many years prior.
Holy Smokes!!! I sure am glad I ate my Wheaties! ;P I'll have to check my stash sometime and see whether I can retire.
i have that 1955 double die obverse it's in better than good condition I have alot of coins can't afford to get graded but if anyone wants to buy let me know
much LOVE from Philly
I'm saving my pennies cause someday they will be of value, maybe my Childrens days, my grand Childrens days, or maybe even grant grand Childrens days, but someday they will ne worth good money. The US mint has already closed production of pennies
Just a side note here, maybe try a short vidjya on a 3xpensive ddo penny on down the line from the 55 ddo wheatie, that bad boy was 🍒 picked hard since 1955 cuz u can see the doubling easier than any other penny. Be cool to see some I've forgot or didn't know about other than the "king" of ddo's, litteraly called that out the top 3 diff ddo penny's. Luv the coin vids tho👍
Beautiful !
When Dad downsized out of his condo, he gave me a glass jar with maybe 1000 pennies inside. *looks at jar" I think I know what I'm doing this weekend....
I have a 1944 like that and a 1951. I collect coins and i have been looking to sell my collection
I literally found two of these in my grandmas stuff after she passed away a couple of months ago as well as a LOT of silver coins
I have that penny along with several other's, I have no idea who to take em to so I can get em appraised..I see so many coins that I have but no idea who buys em...They are worthless to me cause nobody seems to know who's interested in em. When I do kinda find a buyer they low ball me and want em for 25cts or sometimes they say they're not valuable at all...
I noticed your voice I believe you sound like Shawn Michaels from WWE
Talk about the 1909- S - VDB . Rare coin!
I found a Sacagawea dollar in the coin return at a car wash. People today probably think it's a token for a car wash or a quarter that didn't work. 😊
I have so many pennies from as early as the 1850s I wonder how much value they will be
I have about 30 lbs and one day I poured them all out and started looking up some and it’s insane. Remember also some of the quarters from every state and flaws that are worth cash !!!!! Fact ✅
