  • Next on our trip is the town of Valdez. It's a small town at the end of a road over a pass but it is stunning! It has all the imagery you would imagine that an Alaska town should have. Take a visit!

Salmon berries are soooo good!! Just make sure to open them up to make sure there’s no aphids inside before eating them off the bush. I found out the hard way!😅

Outstanding as usual! Hope you are truly enjoying Alaska. It was a beautiful place to visit on a cruise and a land trip with my daughter last year.

While not as popular to catch and eat as the other salmon species in Alaska, locals do take the pink salmon. I’m not sure about the Chum species. Where I fish I am not aware of a Chum run.

We're looking forward to pink salmon season as well. Supposedly they're still really good when they're nice and silver and not too late into the run. Chum though we haven't heard anybody talk about catching so we'll skip them. After all silvers will be coming soon as well and we can only eat so much salmon. Red numbers are still going up on the Kasilof and Kenai Rivers so we'll try again tomorrow for some more.

BAERSkin is the company name. I'm still wearing it these days even in late June here in Alaska. It's holding up to a lot of use pretty well.

Hi Jay and Tina …. How do they keep the roads so dry and clear if there’s snow melting all the time

They have an absolute ton of huge culverts that go below the roads. Some of the culverts are so large I'm sure I can drive through them and one place we saw had 2 of them. The civil engineers here really did a great job designing them.
