Think this is 85' ? Shes a beauty Ken. I had a red,white and blue 87' in 89'. Tank was white and metal. Kick start only with compression release to get it top dead center. Bike was a monster 😊

Now that's my kind of bike. Needs a supertrapp or Baja megaphone on that exhaust. Also the drum rear needs to go. Change out to a disc brake. That's a fun competitive bike for any one that can ride good enough. Or just take it to the woods and ride with friends you can't find a better bike that will last for years. I had a 89 the last year with the rear drum brake. Love them and always will. If I could swing it I would buy a new to me one. Maybe that very one. She looks sweet
That is one fine vintage XR 600. The only thing different that I would do with it is to put Gold Rims on it. The new owner of this bike will be very happy.
I forget, can the XR 650s be registered in Connecticut as is? I see the headlight and the tail light but no signals. I don't think in Connecticut we have to have signals, do we? Also a horn. I know for a fact that I had a 1985 or some year XR 200 (I'm old and memory is shot) and I was able to register it. That I know for a fact.

Had the XL 600 fully modified but wish I'd had the XR. Was a fun bike with a ton of power especially after all the mods. Loved it

If your tank was metal, you has a XL600, all XR's went full on plastic tanks after 1981..

xr650r same problem no kick n not a dual sport. atk is dual. the l has 42 this 48 .the 650r n atk w pipe r close in hp 60 engine
and you been thinking on 2 stroke working it out told lazzer 999 also hidrogen motorcross conversion your the though
kick only. if elec wud be heavier. atk is same weight
5:50 "raced against 250 two strokes". So why not 500cc two strokes? Is it because two strokes are just faster/more horsepower than 4 strokes? 😊
