Open the Settings menu and look for the option mentioning 'apps' or 'applications'.
anyone out there who is thinking of buying this and doubting it's capability, and performance let me reassure you by saying that I've had this phone for just under two months now and everything has been fantastic. I currently have it on a £7.50 a month contract (250 mins, 5000 texts and 500mb data) on talk mobile (their network coverage is brilliant) and i can honestly say that you wont find a better price for a phone that runs on android 4.0 (ice cream sandwich). This phone is BRILLIANT!!! :D
Yeah! I was going to get the Galaxy Y but now I saw this and it's now the phone I want to buy for Christmas. Since it's not that far away, I have a chance to get my first smartphone.

Got it recently...it's a nice phone if you can live with a 3mpx camera, lower performances and smaller screen, but on the other side my battery holds out rather well and phone looks really sexy which is essentially what I wanted, a cheap good looking android phone :) You have my recommendations ;)

Why do reviewers negatively comment on the small screen?
There needs to be some phones out there for people who want a smaller form factor. If I wanted a bigger screen - I'd just buy a different phone!!
It's definitely better to charge it more often and not to drain it to the bottom. You can constantly charge it, the charger won't charge it above 100% :) .. Btw, manufacturers sometimes recommend to drain the whole battery to "calibrate it". It's important to know that this is **software** calibration, and it might improve **estimating** the battery life, etc., but it won't improve the battery life itself.

I really prefer the way tipo looks, but Galaxy mini 2 runs on older android (which is better for budget phones) the screens are pretty much the same, tipo has a better battery, however android 4 has some cool features like unlocking screen with face, if tipo makes use of them of course, hope that helps !
I own this phone it's not bad it's actually pretty good only bad thing is poor camera and occasional lag
How is the battery life? On how frequent do you charge the phone?
it is also i'm thinking,,but for me i will go for Sony,because sony has uniqueness when it comes to design & have a better performance rather than mini 2,mini 2 is a simple design common in other samsung phones.

Well I charge it everyday when the battery is bellow 70%, but that's just me. It's better for the battery to give it small frequent charges then occasional massive ones. I believe it can hold out for 2-3 days with some average phone usage. My phone is modded atm so it charges out faster...but as I said, with the habit of constantly adding charges to the battery, I don't even think about it anymore ;) I would recommend getting Miro though, bigger screen and camera for a small price difference ;)

Unfortunately, you cant upgrade it to JB, and you have to wait a bit longer in order for Android to fully load all of the libraries/processes

I feel this is a very decent phone for its price. It is small, sturdy and has ICS.

does the touch feel resistive or is it very responsive or sensitive?
Best phone for this money. I prefer the 4.0 android from this phone above the LG L3 which has 2.3 android.

Tipo of course. Explorer is just 600 MHz processor. It means very slow and laggy

why is explorer better than tipo ..i am buying a phone but i can't make a choice between tipo and explorer... explorer got auto-focus camera and v3.0 Bluetooth and twice the downloading bandwidth than tipo ..but non of those matter for me however tipo has got a powerful processor..i am more oriented towards tipo but still want your views on it !!! and how is the speaker sound quality of both phones..

Really? Ah sorry for my bash on Explorer. But it said that Explorer just have 90 MB shared internal memory... Is that right?
best budget phone!, defeated galaxy mini, galaxy y, galaxy pocket, optimus net, optimus one, optimus me, and most specially almost same specs as galaxy mini 2 but tipo has ics and cheaper price!!

It''s not good to continuously charge the phone if the battery is good, it will decrease battery life considerably. I charge mine everytime it hits 15%

What sony phone did you own because they didnt buy off Ericsson that long ago and since then i dont think they released any phones that 'suck'. This is probably the least powerful and cheapest of them all but its still a pretty good budget phone. Surprisingly ots more powerful than the xperia play.

I don't know about Karbonn A9 but I'd rather chose that one. Xperia Tipo is quite buggy from what I've heard.

Don't see the specs on paper, I've both an explorer and a tipo, and other than the fact that tipo has ics out of the box and more internal memory, there is nothing else that is noteworthy about it. My explorer is way better, It runs Android 4.1.2 JellyBean and doesn't lag at all. I've got 106 apps downloaded on it and still 146 mb of the internal memory is free and explorer has also has got one of the largest dev support.

Wrong! Plain wrong. Unless you have a Nokia 3310 with original NiMH battery though :) .. All lithium-based batteries don't like to be discharged. The more you discharge it, the worse. In fact, when your phone runs out of power, it just means that the voltage in battery dropped below a certain level. You could theoretically drain the whole battery, but a circuit protects you from damaging it instantly. This applies not only for phones, but also for laptops, and whatever lithium batteries are in.

This is cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Ace, and looking at the list of specs I don't see how the Samsung is any better. In terms of value for money, the Xperia Tipo is better in my opinion.
