I think this is where Sunshine Mint is ahead of the game with their MintMark SI, and their history with the US mint. Are they the best generic? I think a lot of people would agree.
I only get my generic silver bullion through reputable shops. Even still, I only purchase bars that are sealed, so I don't buy anything secondary market. When my stack gets big enough, I'll explore other avenues for procuring silver. But for now, I'm trying to play it safe.
great video the only problem with some criminals is they aren't smart enough to figure out counterfeiting currency is worse than counterfeiting goods. The ones who do the counterfeiting are, but the ones 3 times down the line are not. And that is the problem eventually it ends up in someones hands who sells it and has done nothing wrong except they bought it from someone else.
I buy whatever is best deal for me in my situation to sell. My two Coin shops near me pay .50 below for generic and 1.00 over for eagles, maples, etc. so I buy whichever covers that spread for me.
Just started stacking. Went to a local jeweler yesterday to see if he had any silver to sell. He told me that the place he deals with will buy government silver no problem. Generic they will smelt and have assayed at sellers expense.
This is a very informative video. Let me ask a question: Do the United States Government Mints produce silver and gold bars, or are they all produced by private mints?
Legal tender only has to be accepted by the government that issues it for the use of paying taxes and government bills. In the US stores do not have to accept US money, or do not have to accept all denomination of said money. But other laws make it more difficult for banks to begin issuing their own currency.
Guido i have to have that 50gram bar!!! I just did a video with the 17&18 cook island 1oz coins with that same design! Is it for sale😬? Or where did you get it?!!!
I stick with reputable online dealers. If I'm buying elsewhere it's only when I can physically see the silver and verify its real. I won't buy from joe schmo sight un seen. Even the stuff I get from a reputable online dealer I still test ping, magnet, specific gravity, which includes weight when you do it. Check your stuff well guys.
In the United States, the secret service gets involved to fight counterfeiting of US coinage. Other sovereign coins are good, but US officials view other world sovereign and generics the same. Only U.S. legal tender coins have an advantage in America.
Paused 10s in. I have 660 oz of generic, and 3 government(Maple leafs, cuz I'm canadian). I bought four 2nd hand 100oz bars, and got 3 JMs and 1 RCM. Generic 4 life! The government doesn't even respect it's own money as money. So why would I pay a premium for it?
What about "hard metal Alliance" I heard from Jim Rickards it is a safe haven to store silver if the country seizes hard metals they will not seize it from them and I am not sure about others.
I agree but i only buy from licened dealers who do direct business with either the Royal Mint or US Mint the Secret Service keeps a close watch on anything comming out of the Mint and insures public trust
Dude you cannot go into a grocery store and pay with silver bullion, not even eagles. The only thing they will accept is constitutional silver. Dimes, quarters and kenndys, or any of those war nickels. There are some states legalizing gold and silver as currency but its slow
Nice video but there are so many more variables when comparing the two, dont you think so my friend. Personally i can think of MANY more..i prefer maple 🍁s ..9999 for around the same cost as most generic rounds. I could write a book on why i choose non-generic silver but both are awesome and well respected!! But anyhow.....keep stacking any and all forms my fellow stacker!!!!! Great video man keep them coming!!
I am much more confident buying on eBay after a few lessons from you guys. I know what to look for now, but you still need to make sure you are getting a good deal and not getting caught up in the "bid wars". Personally I prefer government over generic, but will still stack both for enjoyment.
Think you might be in your own little bubble bro... My local guy took fake Morgans in trade a couple weeks ago. And also a Silver Eagle...His guy in Phoenix took a 1oz Perth sealed fake gold. Showed me so id know whats coming, they are flooding the market in late 2019. Be careful players and play-etts. ✌🙂👍
I am scared all the silver dimes and quarters I have collected over the years might be fake how do I check them and what should I do if I find out if they are fake? I exchanged some half dollars a couple of months ago what if they are not real can I get some real ones aka circulated coinage?
Even if you took a silver eagle to the grocery store (assuming you're in america) I find it highly unlikely they would accept it. (video idea? Try to convince them to take it?)
@@trp2413 I've seen one where a guy uses a gold eagle at a taco bell 😂 The lady at the drive thru asked how much it was worth and he was very quick to just offer cash for his meal lol
Excellent logic and concise. I never realized how vulnerable generics really are. That said you have to admit Chinese Pandas are among the most counterfeited silver coin in the world so some government silver bullion is vulnerable too.
Thank you! You’re absolutely right pandas are heavily counterfeited. Not all government issued bullion is immune to counterfeiters especially coming out of China
also a big factor for govt silver is that its legal tender.... here in canada the silver maple has a $5 worth, so i can take 1999 silver maples across the international border without declading because 1999 silver coins have a legal tender value of $9995...if you have $10,000 or more you must declare. but the actual worth of silver is almost $60,000. BBBUUUTTTT then again 1999 silver ounces would weight a shit ton.... way better to do that with gold.... 199 gold ounces with $50 legal tender valve, you could bring almost $400,000 worth of gold!!!
That's easy, first it doesn't make a damn who in the hell make it as long it's .999 purity, if you want to buy a Silver, Gold coin or bar with a extra mark up in price, because it's made by Uncle Sam or private limited mint maker, then that your business, but warnings to you all, if and when the SHTF, all silver or gold will be valued the same by (Weight)... "Capiche"...again regardless who the hell its made by period...keep stacking...I buy all my from (S.D. Bullion), best in pricing...
I need to buy a magnet. I wonder if I am keeping them the way they should be? I sometimes put them in my tupaware boxes or watch cases or the altoid tin I need to organise my collection already.....
Check out Ali express for fake government coins
So much good info. Thanks man
Small differance, each single bullion 1 oz silver coin contain 31.1 oz of silver no matter the weight above.....
Great information.
What about buying directly from a reputable mint like First Majestic?
To Guido I have the Prospector silver coin because I like the look of it. I dont think its backed by the government but I didn't buy it for the value.
Good point about the punishment for counterfeiting govt issued bullion.
Thank you Sal! 🤘
Nice vid and topic. I love the security features on the Chiwoos. Thanks.

FIRST. I typically buy from reputable online dealers/well-known mints.
Good info to know.
Thank you!
What about the sunshine bars from apmex ?
Those are my favorite bars 👍

Thanks for checking them out! 📚💣
After a while some people can just glance at a bar or round and tell if it's fake, the thickness is a dead give away

😂😂😂 APMEX has them 😬 might put it up for auction not sure 🤔🤔
@@GuidoStackin hmm ill have to go check that out, thanks buddy!
Were did you get that $2.50 bar of silver from can you post the link
I must disagree. EVERY fake I have been stung over have been ASE.
I like poured bars. Then I can play with more of my treasure without as much worry.
Good video and yes I do watch your videos :) I'm off today so I can comment :)
😂😂Thank you SS! Glad you’re back in the loop brother! Enjoy your day off 🤘

Buy Sunshine rounds...reputable mint and the rounds have the SI security feature.
I want it cause it says Coeur D Alene

There are many fake Morgan dollars and ASE out there

Silver rounds are more expensive than government coins here in the UK.

Oh yeah SD Bullion is definitely a reputable company 👍

They are both rounds your holding no difference just one is made and looks better the other.
Somewhat redundant and circular but informative to geometric degree
Also I just searched fake silver on youtube and like 2/3 of the videos are on Gov minted 😄
😂😱

Yeah, silver town is one of the worst when it comes to fakes!! Don’t buy! Stay away! Best to stick to sovereign coins, for sure!
