I had tears in my eyes as you were looking at the dishes that your mom has that were your Grandma's. I love how food and things involving food bring such cherished memories from our past. My mom left this Earth a little over a year ago. She was ready for heaven. Every day I use the same cup she used in her last year with us. Good memories and warm fuzzies. Thanks for sharing.
I lived in VA & moved back home to MO & I miss Wegmans so much! My favorite is their Wegmans White BBQ Marinade...marinade chicken in it & either grill it or cook however you want...amazing!
Precious memories shared with us. Thank you for that. Love the fact your Grammas memory is kept alive by using her platters.I love Pioneer Woman and hope my 3 small Grandaughters cherish my tableware and family traditions one day as well.Have a wonderful visit with your family making more memories.😊
Great video! I love "seeing" you and Ma together. I grew up in Mansfield with a single dad of 4. We always had suppa at the table at 6. Don't be late! We did family style and us kids took turns doing dishes after. Dad cooked every meal. Growing up in MA was the best! Thanks for sharing your memories with us.
I used to love to look through all of mom's old cookbooks. Her Betty Crocker cookbook from the early 60's has totally fallen apart and some of pages are missing but our family lasagna recipe comes from that cookbook and we love it! 😋
Bread on the table, mom buttered ours as we wanted one. So many memories and my sister and I talk about what dinners we loved, when mom blew the pressure cooker (on the stove) full of beans etc. My kids still talk about how she made the best sandwiches. Just regular sandwiches but best when grandma made them . . . with love. Thanks for bringing back even more memories. Love when your mom is on with you. 💜
Isn't it wonderful to take a walk down memory lane with food, dishes and recipes. Every time I use something that belonged to my Heidy or Sittie (grandmothers) it brings back such fond memories. Pretty cool Ma kept those curtains all these years, and they fit!
Finally my store is being posted, come shop with me! I don't have any of the other stores here. I love this store. If you go around the rest f the store and really look, they have many things you can't find in a lot of stores. I am in Western N.Y. and grateful for this store. I know that if you wanted to try a new cheese out that you haven't had before, they would cut you a sample to try, but you have to ask. They also use to have a serve yourself for meals to eat in the store, but with the Covid - 19 thing, I think they had to stop it for now. Just love this store! They even have umbrellas if it starts raining you can use. Just leave them in the cart when done, they will come and get them.
We are just a family of 4 BUT we always eat at the table as a family and I serve everyone their plates. Love your family and love when you and your mom are together. So sweet. ❤️
When I saw this vlog, it brought such fond memories of visiting my grandmother. Putting passover together. She and my mom would do exactly what you and your mom were doing. Looking at old dishware, brick a brac remembering when you were a little girl. The recipes, the tableware, the linens used. It still amazes me how the generations move forward but, yet we still all reminisce the same way. My mom would tell me how her mother and grandmother cooked things. Family staples. Special dishware used. How it was important that family sat and ate together. I remember being told a family that sits together will stay together. It was away of winding down the day and reconnecting with the family. My mom taught me the importance of family. Bless her heart. My children and grandchildren are doing it with me these days. Family recipes still being handed down. Aw, Thank you Kimmy, Bless you, here's to safe and happy vacation. Make more memories.
Your memories about dinner and your mom was precious! Mine was the same. My job was table cloth, napkins, salt and pepper, and a plate of bread and butter with every meal. I heard.””.time to set the table Shirley “”everyday as my brothers put knife, fork and spoon down and I corrected the placement. We had to wash our hands before every meal and you better be home to set the table! Grace was ALWAY said. You never left the table unless you said, “may I be excuse”? We hid disliked foods under our napkin. 🤣🤣 I stood on a chair to watch mom cooking and washing dishes. It was a good time💗
My favorite part of this video was the random assortment of tupperware under the cook book shelf. Not all organized and fancy, just real life in a normal house.
it looks amazing where your mom lives, and Wegmans sure looks good. I am happy you get time with your mom, mums are so special. I spent many hours with my mum here in England up until losing her 4 years ago, Enjoy Kimmy, I too always sat down at the table to eat with my family and now we do most of the time with my family now. occasionally we eat in the living room and sometimes during family parties. Love to all your family. xxx
Wegmans started where I am from (western NY). Best part of everything being fresh is they donate anything that doesn't sell by the sell by date thats still good to food pantries. NO food waste! They do alot for thier communities they are in.
My stepson has been working for Wegmans for almost 2 years. I’m telling you- for a teen- or newly minted college student- they pay very well and have great benefits. Highly recommend
❤️❤️❤️Wegmans....but not cheap! We’re in the Raleigh area with 3 Wegmans...first encountered Wegmans while living in upstate NY. Finally a Wegmans where I live now.
I LOVE Wegmans . I go to the one in Princeton NJ. I live right across the river .... 20 mins away ...... in Bucks County PA. We will be getting our very own Wegmans in the near future. Can’t wait. The rest of the store is pretty comparable to other stores? Uh, NO. Every time I go to Wegmans I am always amazed at the various products that cannot be found anywhere else. Some day I plan on going aisle by aisle , taking my time, just looking at all the unusual items.
Totally loved this video.. brought a tear to my eyes listening to you & your lovely mum looking at grannies old plates.. made me think of my mum whose in heaven & what we used to cook & things we did together... make special memories & plenty of photos so you can both look back on this most treasured family time together. . Also wasn't that a magnificent wonder store , I would have broken the bank in there my hubby would have run out screaming 😂😂 I do hope you are all having an amazing time together. Your mom really really is such a darling. Looking forward to your next video. Stay safe . X x ❤
What a nice video. Relaxing. I love going down memory lane as well. I've never seen a cardinal in person and this was pretty cool to see them at the window. I hope you really enjoyed your vacation. You can just feel the love in your family. Thank you for sharing them with us.
Thank you for sharing your family and memories! That must have been so special to be with your mom in the kitchen. We had buttered bread at the table when I grew up as a child, being raised on a farm is how I cook today. Thanks again. Kim💗
We don't have a Wegmans in our area either but it looked like a really nice grocery store. Those window bird feeders are awesome! How fun to sit and watch the birds. Your parents home seems so peaceful ♥️
I absolutely love watching your videos (especially when your mom is in them) reminds me of home. I’m originally from Massachusetts and it’s nice to hear the home accent. Makes me want to move back.
Hi Kimmy. I cook my broccoli and carrots in a steamer like your mum, but I don't have 2 layers like her. I just put the longer cooking veg on the bottom - eg the carrots and the broccoli on the top. Then both cook at the same time to the right degree. Love love love those 2 veg.
I grew up with my mom using that Farm Journal cookbook and now I have it, as my mom passed away in January :( The pages are falling out just like your mom's book but that makes it even more special to me because I know that was a well loved cookbook of my mom's!
My Dad would go to the day old store and get bread as well, toast it up and you didn’t realize it was a bit stale. We loved when he went to the local Entemanns day old store though 🤣😋 for apple fritters and other yummy baked goods. I’m on Long Island and they had a huge bakery in Brentwood/Bayshore. I love old cookbooks too!! So many memories -
Hi Kimmy! I had the same tablecloth as your mom's from the Christmas Tree Shop way back in 99. I'm from Mass too. Loved getting to see you relive memories with your parents ❤😊
I remember having to eat at the dinner table with meals. I can also rember eating buttered bread a lot at dinner. I can only rember my grandmother making bread a few times but she usually got it cheap some place and frozen it. I am guessing from a bread store. On occasion we would have cinnamon raisin bread and that would be with our oatmeal. Its funny how things remind us of our childhood or how a tradition started. I am so glad you and your mom shared these kind of memories with us.
Great video, Kimmy. Love the memories shared and videos with your mom. We always had buttered bread with dinner also growing up. Forgot all about that. 💕
Where did your mom get the bird feeders for the glass/windows? Love the video and I’ve never been in a Wegmans. Looks like a store I could have a lot of fun in!! Thanks for sharing 😊
I love wegmans. As soon as you walk in you smell the delicious bread baking. The red white and blue bread is amazing and the chocolate chip cookies yummy. Kids get a free cookie at the bakery, not sure about now for safety reasons but the free cookies have been a thing since I was a kid. The subs are also great and the pizza is huge and good too. I think I’m hungry. LOL. Enjoy the day
I really enjoyed this video, Kimmy. Loved listening to the stories your parents told about growing up. I'm so happy for you that you got to spend this time with them ❤️
I live in South Texas, and we have H‑E‑B. It’s a GREAT grocery store. When my mom and sister lived in New York, I spent several summers with them,, and ❤️Wegman’s❤️! I ate my way through the bakery section. 🤣. Mom and I would go to the lunch area every day and try something new.
Wegmans is what I grew up with and I still go to today! I'm lucky enough to live in Palmyra, NY just outside of Rochester....the birthplace of Wegmans! ❤️🥰❤️
I live in Northwestern Pennsylvania, about 15 miles from the NY state line....my nearest Wegman’s is in Jamestown, NY....it’s my favorite store, lots of choices and more organic items than nearby Walmart or Aldi’s....even though they were camera shy, it was nice “meeting” your family 🤗 thanks for sharing....

Boy, does this bring me back to my Italian childhood. We had bread and butter always on the table. We had a salad with each meal. My mom said bread was always served with meals to fill you up during the depression when food was scarce. Pecorino cheese was our cheese of choice too. I grew up in the 50s and life was much the same as yours although I am much older.
I live about an hour 1/2 south of the Raleigh area in NC. When Wegmans came to the Raleigh area...I wanted to take a road trip to check it out. Now I most def must go!! This is the only Wegmans in NC right now.
I own the cookbook. Add milk, the bouillon cube : cook until thick and smooth, stirring constantly. Stir in tuna, potatoes, and eggs. Turn into pastry shell. Cover with reserved crust, flute edges and cut steam vents. . Bake in very hot oven, 450 degrees, for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 400 degrees and bake 20 minutes more. Makes 6 servings
You guys should go to water country in Virginia. I live here and me and my family have season passes for bush gardens and water country. We go there often.
Love Wegman’s, it is from my husband’s hometown and has changed greatly since the early 70s. I shop at the Fairfax store. One day they had an overabundance of lobster. I said to the chef, yes chef, that i wasn’t sure how to cook lobster. He explained in detail what to do and said serve it with asparagus and Hollandaise sauce. He walked me to the vegetable department and helped me pick out a bunch of asparagus. Then he took me grocery department and picked out the Hollandaise sauce I should and told me how to prepare it. My cousin worked in the cheese department, she was trained for 3 days on how to cut and serve cheese before she was allowed behind the counter. Currently I live in an area that only has Food Lion. No comparison.
What a sweet time with your family ♥️ I grew up having family dinners too, even when dad had to travel. Cherish these times, I lost both my parents. Dad passed away in November and mom this past March, they would have been married 61 years this May.
We have Wegmans here in Western, NY. It’s head quarters is actually in Rochester, NY. We love them! Starting in November every year they have the BEST orange cranberry bread, it is seriously so good toasted with butter or used for French toast.
You can get a squirrel feeder that goes on your fence and it's so cute!! I loved watching the squirrels eat from the feeder! What is in the bird feeders exactly? Looks like dead meal worms in left one. A sunflower seed maybe and something else in right one?
I had tears in my eyes as you were looking at the dishes that your mom has that were your Grandma's. I love how food and things involving food bring such cherished memories from our past. If you may permit me to make a small correction. The French cookies are macarons. There is only one 'O'. Macaroons are coconut based cookies.
Thought about saying the same thing. Thanks for putting it out there!
Thank you for saying something.
I have always heard Wegmans was fantastic but glad to have a bird's-eye view of it thank you
Love this video. Kimmy, you seem so much more relaxed and at peace. I hope you get to relocate sooner rather than later 💕
We always ate at the table as a family! Ha ha the cardinal looked like he had sunglasses on!
That was so sweet. Reminded me of suppers when I was a kid. Good memories. 😊♥️🇨🇦
I have the same stackable steamer pots. They came with a pot set and I love them!
I live in the Raleigh area of North Carolina and we have a couple of Wegmans in this area. Love them!!

You guys should go to water country in Virginia. I live here and me and my family have season passes for bush gardens and water country. We go there often.
I’m from where Wegmans, originated..... love it, fantastic place to shop!
Yeah we love BG. We have a three day pass for it this summer. We are going to VA beach for a week and will also go to the parks.

What a great store, yummy on dinner.👍🦋
We have Wegmans here in Western, NY. It’s head quarters is actually in Rochester, NY. We love them! Starting in November every year they have the BEST orange cranberry bread, it is seriously so good toasted with butter or used for French toast.
My fave grocery store. Superior products and service!
You can get a squirrel feeder that goes on your fence and it's so cute!!
I loved watching the squirrels eat from the feeder!
What is in the bird feeders exactly?
Looks like dead meal worms in left one.
A sunflower seed maybe and something else in right one?
