Love seeing all those perch feeding. I'm taking some days off to take delivery of some hybrid bass and other fish next week. Can't wait to get some fishing in and hopefully catch some more sizeable fish.
That sounds like a good use of time off. I hope that goes well and they transition well. I still haven’t spotted a single HSB from our fall stocking a year and a half ago. Must not’ve made it. I wanted to jump start the perch this spring to increase their food source before all the young bluegill hatch and provide forage. I also know that the spawn is hard on perch, and some are so exhausted afterwards that they end up dying. I’m hoping to help nourish them to prevent exhaustion and loss from the spawn. We’ll see.
Not yet….as it turned out, we ended up getting more SMB in our initial stocking than we planned. So I don’t want to add more mouths to feed yet until I get a better handle on how our ratio of species continue to develop. I’ll consider maybe next spring. I’m also still considering crappie….but I also know the risk this brings. I want to make sure I have plenty of larger predators to keep them in check if I go that route.
Thanks for watching! Camera is the Aqua Vu HD7i. If I had it to do again, I’d get the HDi7 Pro. That model displays the depth and water temp of where the camera is in the water on the screen. That would be handy info to have. I’ve been impressed with the picture quality of this camera. It is heavy to tote around though, mainly because of the 75 foot cable. Just a couple observations I have. But overall I’m happy with the camera!

Out deeper I suspect still. Caught two a week ago. Warm temps this week is going to wake everything up. Started the feeder this week.
