  • Owning and managing a pond has its share of challenges, but the benefits far outweigh the work and maintenance involved. From aeration maintenance, vegetation control and water treatment there's always work to be done. Fish management, habitat building and dock infrastructure, these are just a few of the fun projects we have going on at the pond.

Finally relative weights! So important to truly understand how healthy your fishery is. Will help determine what to harvest when needed

I know…it takes some effort. I’ve thought about pit tags, but I just haven’t had the time to dedicate to that. I know I’m bluegill heavy already and need to get to work on culling the 7-8”ers. With no largemouth in our pond, they grow bigger than the smallmouth can handle quickly. I’m hoping the perch will forage heavy on the bluegill fry before they get too big. It’s a fun experiment and learning journey.

Really enjoy your videos. Would like to see more underwater shots of the fish. But really just more videos of the pond and everything related. Keep it up!

Thanks for the feedback. I love the underwater shots too. i almost have just as much fun watching them on camera as I do catching them with rod and reel…..Almost! I have considered hanging the camera under the dock and just let it run. Thanks for watching and the encouragement.

All your content is great in my opinion, especially fishing and pond maintenance.

As far as what I would like to see on a future video, anything pond related but some more fishing videos from the underwater camera! Love watching them think about biting the lures!

I love that too! Thanks for the feedback. You can really learn a lot about the fish behavior and how they react to different jigging patterns.

Pond looks awesome, I guess leak repair still doing great? Its because of your suggestion on seek leak, we've now repaired three leaking ponds, 1st one probably 3+ months ago and still holding, just finished other two and waiting on rain. Polymer has been a true blessing. Never seen anything like it. Thanks again for making videos. And keep giving Jesus full credit.

Thanks! Yes, pond leak repair is holding well! That’s awesome that you have had success with it as well. It has been a game changer for us, and while it takes some work and patience, it has changed our whole outlook on the pond. Worth every penny! I am going to do a polymer compilation follow up video on our story. I get questions on whether it worked or not. It was my goal with the channel to help others who have shared interests as me….and do so in a God honoring way that points others to Jesus. For from him and through him and for him are all things! All glory to Him! Blessings to you brother in your faith walk…and in your pond projects!

Indeed it is! The fish bite the most off the end of the dock!

Those are some nice looking fish. I'm planning on keeping some of our bluegill and crappie the next few weekends to reduce the amount of competition for our perch. My hybrid striped bass seem to be doing good. We have caught quite a few of them already. They seem to stick together because when you catch one, you catch a bunch.

Thanks. I am bluegill heavy right now from what I can tell. I need to harvest bluegill. Not having largemouth in our pond will be something I’ll have to account for. That’s awesome about your HSB! Super fun to see them develop.

@@newnatureadventures I unfortunately was only able to harvest 4 bluegill and 1 crappie this weekend, but I'm hoping to get a bunch more over the holiday weekend if it doesn't rain too much.

I like the underwater footage , I don’t get as good results with my aqua view , I have perch and walleye and I put 600 perch in and haven’t saw 1 all year on a rod or camera ?? Anyway your videos have helped me along the way I’ve just completed a pond similar to yours in Illinois . Where can I buy seek leak? I’ve tried dammit but want to use something else ,
    Thanks

Thanks for the feedback. Sorry about the perch. That’s odd that you haven’t seen any. How big were they when they were stocked? For the Seek leak, you’ll need to contact TJ Hudson at tj@hudlandmgmt.com and he’ll hook you up. He helped me through our treatment strategy. You can also give him a call at (402) 730-4897. Thanks for watching…let me know if I can help in any way.

@jamestanas1466 One would sure think that would be plenty to get established. Weird you haven’t seen any. Perch are the most willing biters in my pond. We stocked 50 HSB and I don’t think they made it. Haven’t seen one.
