When you think this can't get any better and than you see Joscho live 9 years later and he got even better...unbelievable guitar player and funny guy, too.

I like to think of myself as someone who can spot a musician playing without feel - it doesn't take a genius to see that the way in which Joscho plays has an INCREDIBLE amount of heartfelt emotion devoted into every note. If anyone says he plays without emotion, should even be anywhere near this video - especially the gypsy jazz genre. Intricate detail, mixed with emotion and feel go hand in hand with the gypsy jazz scene.

One special thing about Joscho is every single note, no mater how fast it is, is played perfectly. There is not guess work here, all the notes are where they should be and his right rand is fenomenal. He only get better with time.

This young man is GREAT! I see that some complain about his style or he has no feeling in his music, put your video up and lets see what you can do.I've been playing for 40 + years, I haven't seen anybody that can beat him, some are close, but He's the best. This is my personal opinion so it must be right.,

Most famous art critics aren't artists themselves so this comment fails in its premise. But, nevertheless, I agree. This guy is great!

@SavageArfad i went into this prepared to think the same thing, but i love his vibrato and his phrasing is fantastic, right down to the sense of velocity and attack, and of course, his sense of meter, which is impeccable. I love Django and obviously he wrote the instruction manual for this entire genre, the god father of gyspy jazz, etc, this guy is doing fretboard gymnastics that go so far beyond what Django ever did that he deserves praise. It's really hard to push a genre that is this well-entrenched. I'm sick of players all just doing the same thing and what I appreciate about Joscho's playing is that he's elevating and pushing the genre to knew standards, and doing it with impeccable timing and attack and and incredible sense of feeling and lyricism. Don't be fooled by his stoic face; that's something Django had too, where it looks like he "barely cares" but that's a showman's facade. His brain is working feverishly and his muscle memory is off the charts to be able to pull of these kinds of fretboard acrobatics with such feeling and at times delicateness. I'm looking down at the floor to find my jaw and my heart loves this on equal levels. Let's definitely see the guitar work of those who are posting negatively about him and compare what they have to offer. That's usually where the critics receded back into the swamp of amateurish realities.

I talked to him, it's exactly the tone he wants to come out of his guitar, because he loves it like it is. This guy is badass, no need for advice ;)
And a very funny and friendly person as well:)

Jorim Leclere There's a difference between being a food-taster and being a chef. You can copy every recipe on the planet to perfection, but a chef creating an entirely new brilliant meal will still be the better chef of the two (and get more publicity). So tim BUCHET's point still stands.

Of course he is playing gipsy classics, but he puts his signature on every note. Joscho developed right hand techniques wich i never saw in other players, not even Django or Stochelo. Damn guys even Frank Vignola stares at the guy while he plays his solos.
You can´t Judge a guitar player, just because you think he has no heart.

If you feel nothing for this music it is because you can't understand or follow what is going on. If you could, you would be moved beyond belief. Make no mistake, this guy is revolutionary and will be a big name in the music history books.
Even Django would be amazed by Joscho's complete mastery and blend of melodic interest, subliminal rhythmic phrasing and, most importantly, his originality (his licks are way ahead of anything seen in gypsy jazz and will influence guitarists for a long time to come).
This is not music that you just tune out to and put on in the background. This is music that you stand alert, pay close attention to and realise that you are lucky enough to be witnessing history in action.

It is a 3 note chromatic pattern all on one string. So you have an open string played every 3rd note followed by a two note chromatic passage - pretty common GJ lick - he is sooo perfect and virtuosic in how he plays every lick though, no one can match him, he is just unshakeable.

hey jon, Sorry for the late reply lol, the main progression is basically a i-iv-v in A minor so it goes Amin-Dmin-E7-Amin // Dmin-Amin-E7-Amin(with e7 Turnaround)
So if you hold down a normal Aminor barre chord on the fifth fret and arpeggiate it with the notes of the minor scale on the high E string. Happy to show you if you require - obviously I write only what to figure out... to play it in his speed and accuracy, well this is another story altogether
