I changed my lower control arms on 2014 nissan maxima.
If you remove the brake caliper and tie it up high as possible,
    remove the brake disk,
then remove the bolt to the sway bar that is attached to the strut,
remove the brake anti locking sensor and wire from around the strut,
remove the bolts that hold the strut and move the strut end to the left,
Now, the lower control arm comes out and goes back in free and clear, zero hammering needed including hammering the ball joint....I learned this from another video...
I did use a fork to separate the ball joint on the old control arm, but didn't need to hammer the ball joint on the new control arm at all. Also did not need to hammer the lower control arm bolts.
I put the two inner control arm bolts in first didn't tighten the nuts just started them,
    then the ball joint bolt,
then tightened the three....gives a little more wiggle room but probably didn't need it.
Then reattached the strut, sway bar end, anti lock sensor, brake disk and caliper.
Torque is 117 on the two control arm bolts, and 46 on the ball joint bolt.

Just finished this repair, went as you said it would. The one thing I did different that helped me was, when I was lining up the inside bolts, I put my floor jack underneath where it connects to the wheel hub and jacked it up until it was a little more relaxed. It helped a lot. Also finding a socket without those diagonal cuts that let the bolt cam out.

Super job! A little tip, To get those bolts in once started, lower the car to put pressure on the control arm to line up the bushings and they will go right in. Thanks for sharing Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya.

It also helps if you remove both sway bar links to push the away bar up. It'll give you a little extra room

Most people don’t have a lift. Save yourself the trouble of needing to fight with the bushings or use of a pry bar by spending 5 minutes to remove the strut first. Control arm will slide in place will little effort. Don’t believe me, try following how then do it on one side then remove the strut on the other side. 👍

Taking lca off is easy, installing a new one on can be a pain if you don't know what you're doing. Alwaya line up the rear bolt first, then the front one...then finally, the ball joint. You can remove both knuckle bolts and bottom stabilizer link nut for ease of installation. Ask me how I know, took me approx 45 mins to do each side from start to finish.

How would you get the ball joint jam nut out? I can’t get mine to budge. I can get it to spin but not come out. I’ve heated it up. I’ve banged on it. It’ll come out halfway but that’s the best I could do on one side.

Decent video of a not so good mechanic. Instead of beating the first bolt in and damaging the threads (pull it and look if you don't believe me) why didn't you stick a punch or aligning tool in there? By the way that's a funny looking "rubber" hammer. I wouldn't suggest beating on the seal of the ball joint with any hammer. You need to hire a mechanic!!

I would say no, the suspension on the older Nissans/infiniti's are setup differently, mainly the ball joint comes in from the top, so you have to take everything off, caliper, tie rod end, axle etc
