Y’all seem like great people. Don’t know anything about you and this is my first time watching your videos but I can sense good vibes. Hope all is still well
Very clever, thanks for the video! I'm putting one of these on a flat roof to let some squash go wild up there, out of the way. My barrel had german ginger ale concentrate in it, smells delicious. :)
Thanks for the smile @ 7:33 😊 I was going to say you are wrapping the thread tape the wrong way. It is interesting watching young people doing the same things I did 40 years ago. Well done guys. Happy New Year. Best wishes Bob.
Super helpful! Great video. We don't have water in the barn and we are starting to winterize. I've been trying to figure out the best option to keep water over there because the hose we run to the barn is going to freeze. We've got 2 drums lying around and now I feel confident about using them!
Question do I need a vent for the top of my 56 gallon barrel? I'm going to use it to refill my dog's water but I'll just fill with a water hose when needed.
Awesome I love that bulkhead fitting that looks nice. We can score those barrels for about $5 a piece at a local canning facility. Using them for waterer is a great idea.👍
Timing is everything. Of course after I rock out Heather's Honey Do List and before we plant our orchard in May I am going to have to come up with a solution for watering the trees because we do not have a well yet. We were maybe thinking of pumping from the pond but I worry about it getting clogged so I was thinking of some type of collecting rain water system. You got me thinking. You guys do a great job. You communicated well. We look forward to seeing more videos.~Kevin
We got these drums from a dairy farm, they originally housed iodine teat dip they aren't for us to drink, but they are recyclable and we thoroughly cleaned them out numerous times before using them. :) Look in craigslist too, we got ours near yeehaw junction area west of Vero Beach.

Thanks for the string method, it worked for me!
The caps in the top that unscrew for cleaning out are threaded would spicket not screw into where the cap was installed?
Very clever, thanks for the video!

Great job on the water system guys
Thank you!!!
It's funny how Davus is talking about saving ten dollars on a hole saw bit while using a Milwaukee drill and razor knife.
It's all about the angle of your dangle!

Great information. Im now thinking about putting one on my duck pool now just for easier cleanings.
I've heard ducks can be really messy so I'm sure it would be a huge help!

Ooooo I wonder if I could find a canning facility near us!
@@OurOrganicLife or a bottler. I used to work for Coca-Cola and a lot of times they give them away for free. Especially if it's for water purposes.
Thank you so much for that tip!!!!
Awesome guys, I have one of these sitting in the back yard and I've been wondering how I was going to get the spicket on it.
So happy we could help!!! :D I found some affordable bulkhead fittings on amazon here! amzn.to/2LHRvHx
I woulda reamed it out with the paddle bit
That's what we used.

Thank you so much!!! ^_^ Yeah you could set it up on cement blocks! :)
Nice score for $7! Those are hard to find for that cheap, especially ones that didn't hold something caustic etc in them. Great job on the project!
Right?! Thank you so much!!! ^_^
Where did you get the drums? I've been looking. In Florida big bend area.

Hey, the music is a bit too loud making it hard to hear, although I do really appreciate you making the video!
Thank you! So sorry about that
