Bernard Hill (17 December 1944 - 5 May 2024) was an English actor. He is known for playing Théoden, King of Rohan, in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, Captain Edward Smith in Titanic, and Luther Plunkitt, the Warden of San Quentin Prison, in the Clint Eastwood film True Crime.

Will always remember him from boys from the black stuff when i was a kid. He played Yosser Hughes and was always fighting and headbutting everyone in it. Was a brilliant show in the early 80s
