Great video Cooper, valuable information given by Sal, I really appreciate his truthfulness, integrity and honesty, can't wait to meet you both when I am in Jomtien.
Thanks Cooper and Sal! I come from a similar background as Sal, Retired out of a cold Northeast USA city, My mom had a great saying, "If you lay down with dogs, You get fleas" Nothing good happens after midnight in "Touron" night life areas for me( gave up alcohol in 1986), I am fortunate enough, thru hard work, and great union jobs to have a great Pension and Social Security, this is the first time in my life, where I could save the amount of money I can now, due to the low cost of living here. You have to have a nest egg for any health issues that may come up. I have had medical issues come up where I was able to pay out of pocket here, that would have cost multiple thousands in the USA. Pattaya has a world wide bad reputation for sex tourism, But everywhere else in Pattaya is normality, with great People. I stay here because of the good hospitals mainly, because the two weeks I spent in Bangkok was enough for me.
As far as driving here, I owned a Harley in Boston Mass, I have Big bike and Car licences in Thailand, but do not drive here, because even If a Thai runs into the back of you,And it Will happen! It will be the farangs(Westerners) fault, and you will be paying! Bolt and Grab are so inexpensive here, It's not worth putting yourself at risk, driving here, unless you have a lot of disposable income!
I totally agree! When I first came here my intention was to enjoy Bangkok for a month then come here to Pattaya. I lasted 5 days there and came here right away. That type of big city congestion, pollution and road noise wasn't for me. But some people love it! Thank you for the comment!
I saw Sal on his channel Budgetdreamtravel in January, his honesty on his channel was obvious so I contacted him. I told him I was apprehensive about coming to Thailand because I,m digitally challenged, long story short I'm here I'm loving it and Sal is about the nicest person you will ever meet. His help to me was immeasurable, we had automatic connection I'm from Chicago he is from Detroit. We have the same name and much much more in common. Shout out to you Sal, great interview Coop. PS shout out to his honey Wongduene she's a gem with THEE nicest smile
I liked what Sal said..It all goes back in the box..Alan Watts had said back in the 70’s..“ In the game of life, at the end of the day,the king and the pawn return to the box”..Brilliant
Alan Watts, the voice of logic and reason, common sense and clarity. My life has largely been involved in the study of our true spiritual nature and the reality of our existence. Alan Watts is one of the very few who expressed the truth in it's purest sense! You warmed my heart mentioning him. Everybody would do well to leave the phony man made church system with those charlatan gatekeepers called priest, pastors, Rabbi's and Sheiks behind and take up the truth and spiritual genius of Alan Watts! Their are several others as well!
What a lively guy Sal is . No negativity & just pure positivity . Many of us thinking the same . " The rich get richer & the poor get poorer " . You can neither change or influence it , so it's time to fly . Many jackass's will say you can't live off €1348 monthly but Uk basic pension is approx $1180 & i sure know in TH you would be living & not just surviving. Thanks Sal & Cooper
Natural disaster is rare here too, no tropical storm directly hits Pattaya, no earthquake. Flooding sometimes but not that bad. Please spend time traveling around Thailand and surrounding countries.
I totally agree. Seeing this and the surrounding countries diversity as well as cultural differences is a wealth of experience not to be missed! Such a beautiful part of the world.
Believe it or not, I have been an investigative researcher over 55 years. Early on, I was way ahead of most of the famous people who are promoting the reality of this world. Some of them have used my research. I just never wanted to be famous or make money from telling the truth. Plus, I went where very few of them would ever consider. The breadth and width of what I know would shock most. Waking up humanity was and is my primary motive. Thank you for your generous comment!
Amazing courage from Sal, seems a lovey bloke. My wife and I are making the jump based on your videos copper so I hope it’s as good as you say lol. Sent you and Darleen a DM hope to hear from you soon.
When your back is against the proverbial wall and the choices are slim or none, common sense and the will to survive kicks in. I did what I had to do to persevere. In reality, the best move of my life! Thank you for your kind comment!
Hi Coopers, I have a question now that I have seen this video. Is it not true that you have a certain amount in the bank or have I read that incorrectly? My monthly income is around 1850 euros. Is that enough? Please answer. I am 63 years and stop working next month. as always l and r from Holland, greetings Rick
@@jdshemp Funny you should say that, a very good friend of mine, a former detective sergeant from Chicago was the guy Clint Eastwood studied under for that character/role.
I'm obviously not able to warrant a $300 insurance expenditure on my tiny income, it would vastly limit my quality of life here. I have a simple basic insurance issued by the bank here at no additional cost. The hospitals here are inexpensive and top notch. Most minor things can be addressed without hurting me. If anything major arises (aside from serious emergency) I'll fly back to my home state where I have excellent coverage provided to me at no charge due to my being, as I said, below the poverty line.
That would be a good trick wouldn't it! Allow me to explain... First, 'Jet setting' is a FAR cry from what I'm doing. That would indicate flying anywhere I want to go, the way I want to go. I can't, most places are too unaffordable, unfortunately! Up until a few years ago, for a while, I was able to fly free due to my now deceased wife who was retired from a United Airlines. I obviously do not fly first class nor business class. Even standard coach is typically beyond my affordability. I've done a great deal of due diligence to learn how to fly at the lowest possible fares worldwide, well below 50-60% off. So my choices are limited to countries where the costs are VERY low and the dollar goes a long way. I can't afford to go to Europe, Australia, or for all that matters I can't afford to live any longer in the US! I'm also only able to stay in very inexpensive accommodations. So obviously prime accommodations are out of the question. Thailand and Vietnam are two of the least costly places in the world to live overall. Slow travel is my only option, where I have time to save up just enough to start up in the next location. Of course their are a lot of 'what if's'. I won't stifle my intentions with speculation. I study everything! Their is no such thing as "I can't " it's not in my vocabulary. Theirs always a way! For most people who were afforded a better lifestyle, a financially sound family, a trust, being left money from deceased relative's, and doors were opened to them throughout their life, they couldn't possibly imagine nor want to live and travel like I'm able to do. Nothing was ever given me nor was I lucky enough to have a wonderful upbringing or family that gave a sh*t about me. I learned how to get the most out of life while still being poor. It is what it is! Thanks for your question!

I agree with this gentleman. I have every Cooper’s video, and they are my motive for wanting to come and live in Thailand.

$1300 less $300 for health insurance plus dependent doesn't leave many shekels
