When you first started this channel I knew you were gonna be one of my favorites, and I was right. Love the content Nate! Great work! Have loved watching every minute of every video. Hopefully some J10 and TJ content next?!
As a Disco 1 owner that hits the AZ rocks HARD and beats it up good, I have to say they're quite a capable vehicle offroad even old and stock. I just installed a 2" lift more so because it was sagging the 'Gansta Rover lean' to the right. Oddly new terriforma kit is still 20mm leaning to the right. Anyhow HATS off to you man! Super awesome build and LOTS of inspiration here! Quality work on a Rover!
Incredible, I watch your Disco videos over and over. I purchased a '97 Discovery 4 years ago for $3k CDN... Haven't done anything other than a few oil changes.. I have no tools, no space, no time, no money and she is running a bit rough now, which makes me sad. Your rig always provides me with "what if" possibility dreams and I thank you for that! Great work!
I had forgotten just how much you had put into this D2 and I love it. Fantastic high quality job as always and especially so even though you had to chop it into 10 mins and miss out so much of what you have done 😎👍👌
Wish we were neighbors. I've had neighbor friends like you, and got the biggest amount of fab work and custom work done together. Without them, my inspiration is none. That's where I'm at now. XJ sitting on 31's with a 3" rough country cheapo lift. It's begging for 33's or 35's and a nice lift with all the goodies. No inspiration. No motivation. Too bad you don't do house visits like Stacey David did for awhile. Kind of like an emergency make over visit. LOL. Luv watching, hope some day I can go on the trips you and Trail Recon go on. Maybe get the whole fab youtube crew together for a trip? You, Trail Recon, Lite Brite, Fab Rats, Matt's offroad, Bleepin Jeep, etc. That would be epic. Hell, that would motivate me to finish the XJ!
Awesome! Happy to have you along for the entire series! This was a long process as you saw lol and I'm glad you decided to stick around for the conclusion
Although I’ve watched every video as they came out it wasn’t until this 10 minute retrospective that I realized how much TIG ( which you claim not to be good at) went into the build. That and the amazing number of fabrication specific tools you’ve amassed and mastered are a tribute to your “get it done” attitude. Years older, and years behind in fab skills, I aspire to build something like you do in my retirement years.
As someone who wants to learn how to fab my own parts for building offroad vehicles and race cars I love your videos. but my engineering degree looks at this build and is defiently in aw of the amount of work you put into it. Hands down an incredible build. I look forward to see your future builds. and maybe one day being able to see them in person.
It is a great pleasure to see all these talents concentrated in this wonderful, unique and very emotional piece of jewelry. well done and all my compliments for your openness.
I have been really impressed with your skills over the past few months, since discovering your channel. Having all these examples of those skill being put to use pulled together into one short video really blew me away.
Nate I am so impressed with your many talents. My son-in-law & I also each have a 2003 Land Rover Discovery SE7. We also love these vehicles & have taken them on numerous off road adventures in the last two years. However, one problem that continues to plague us is overheating. We live in the Phoenix area so we have excessive ambient air temp. in the summer of 105-115 degree for many months. We have both installed Ultra Gauges to monitor our coolant temp. During summer months our coolant temp. run about 195-203 at speeds of 40-45 mph. At stop lights or stop & go traffic we can hit 205-208 degrees. What is the max. temp. of the 4.6 V-8 engine in these vehicle before we can expect damage? Have you had any heating problems with your D2 or have you done anything to address overheating? Your 1,000 mile summer trip is absolutely amazing to us!
I've seen the full series and simply just love it. Nate, when I, subscribed your channel a couples years back, your subs were like 2.5k. Trail recon is one of my favourites overlanding video and I, got into overlanding after watching whole Trail recon videos. Then I, found out 4WD24/7 (Australian) just love it. Australian off-road like hell. Love their canopy system. I, got the latest ISUZU 2021 D-max top variant just when it was released and slowly building up. Trail recon, Dirt lifestyle and 4WD24/7 got me.
I love the craftsmanship! you do not only care about functionality u also care about the end product and how it looks and comes together with the rest of the build... Hands down the most beautiful disco on the road! Well done Nate 👍
🇫🇷 you are the best plumber i know, congratulations Matt 😎👍🏻 I looked at the whole series of construction. Great art, I learned a lot from you. I have been following you since bleeping jeep 😉
you are living my dream, I love that garage! Thank you for doing what you do, this is so much more satisfying that people who just buy and review expensive parts that they didn’t even install themselves.
That first song sounded like a badass anime intro. I'm more of a detailed build guy. But a recap video is still fun to watch. Beautiful looking rig man.
i love your channel but i do really miss the building thats way i come to love your channel so much but keep up the good work man i will still watch no mater what you but out much love man
Thanks buddy, More builds are on the way. Between long lead times on parts and being busy traveling this summer the builds got slow. But I'm building my wifes gladiator, my Taco and my J10 all in the next 6-8 months. The gladiator will be mostly bolt on, the taco will be half bolt on and my J10 will be 100% custom fab work. This winter I will have a little something for everyone 👍
Very Damn Cool!! I have a 99 Disco 2 - purchased in 01 - always envisioned overlanding with it. 20+ yrs later, just retired- maybe now I can do something to it. Only 125k miles on it. Lol. Need to at least toss a rooftop tent on it so I can go camping with my 7 yr old son. Thanks for some cool ideas! No way could I ever do all those things - I don’t have that skill set. The pull out drawer systems would be a good project to start with though.
Building this wonderful truck in 10 minutes, waw. No kidding, I know you've put much sweat and effort into the whole build and took the time to film and explain the whole process. Congratulations and a big "thank you" mate. Best Regards from Belgium (where is that on the map? 🇧🇪😎), David

It was great meeting with you at CES-thanks for taking the time to speak with me about the Discovery build. I finally found a 2004 Discovery for a project build late last month so here we go….my third LR build is on. Can’t thank you enough for this series. As we discussed, I have been working on Rovers for about 20 years and I have never seen anyone document a build as comprehensively as you have with this Discovery. It’s really hard to find this level of detail on a Rover project. You will help a lot of people who are interested in this very unique vehicle. By the way, what was the name of that additive you were putting in the vehicle to stop the “alleged” slipped cylinder sleeve problem (I may have the same problem…)?
Really appreciate the time and effort you put into making these videos. I can't imagine filming/explaining everything WHILE building all this stuff. Looking forward to more! Cheers from B.C.
Such an amazing build! I am thoroughly impressed in all with all of the skill you possess to make such a fantastic vehicle. It truly is a one of a kind machine!!
Watching from NZ and really enjoy your videos and style of building! Although Im nowhere near your level of fabrication you've really inspired me to give things a go I normally wouldnt have!
Lol I feel you. And yes you can build an offroad rig for less but if you want all these features, capabilities and durability it's gonna cost some money. The TJ is one of the better value for dollar spent in my opinion because the low weight high reliability is pretty damn Good right out of the box. And I've been saying this for years but a TJ on 35s will do 99% of the trails in America 🇺🇸 You got a great platform to start with
I've really enjoyed watching the progress of this truck over the past year. Amazing how it transformed immediate with the axle, wheels, and tires. Looks mean as hell. I know you say "it's done" but we all know that's a lie. 😂 Can't wait to see future projects!
That's bad ass! If you ever feel like going on an overland trip through Washington with a SAS'd, triple locked H3 on 37s with 1 ton parts, Let me know!
Nate, no clip of you pulling off the 37 and tire swing all in one shot!? When I saw that I was like, dude don't throw out your back. But impressive AF.
I never saw the cook top/table on the door before. How did I miss that?! I've often thought of making my own stove that folded out. I've got a coleman, but I dislike how close together the burners are. I can barely put two decent sized pans on there (like when cooking eggs and bacon/hash browns). Now I'm thinking I'll get one of those old stoves, rip it apart and build my own. Just need a little more width that how they come from the store. BTW - you probably know this, but you can get a hose that has one end that matches the tread of the 1lb propane cylinders and the other end matches the threads to the 5lb cylinders (like for your grill). I dislike using those little ones due to the waste. And yes, I know you can refill them.
Hey Nate, love the build. I think I've watched the entire build series, including the section about the whole air system. However, I was hoping you could provide some more detail on the rear air-bag setup. I have a long-arm WJ that I tow a small off-road camping trailer with. The WJ is setup soft and flexy, so even with the minimal tongue weight of my trailer it sags a bit more than I'd like with the trailer. A weight-distribution hitch isn't really an option with the Max Coupler. I'd like to just add air bags, but I don't want to have to limit my travel/articulation to do it. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks, TJ
I'm going to say what we're all thinking - your breadth of skill and knowledge is absolutely incredible. Amazing work 🏆🏆
