great!!!
I bought the sv191 zoom for only 27 pounds on eBay great value!
Bought a SVBony 30mm guide scope, its better built than the ZWO equivalent and optically the same and cheaper, this company is getting very competitive with the big guys.
Yes, I have noticed an improvement in the quality of their products as well.
Thankyou for sharing. Is that one you reviewed a parfocal?
It actually looks like it might be a worth while eyepiece on my old Dob. I have seen this Svbony lense featured on other UA-cam channels and it seems to be the consensus that it works well in the night sky. They say that it is not as good as a prime eyepiece, but is very handy/nice when you do not want to swap out filters and eye pieces when doing visual astronomy.
I was very pleased with its performance and I think for the price it’s a heck of a value.
I just bought one for $75. Hoping to enjoy it soon!
I have one of those. Pretty good eyepiece! I like it.
Yeah not bad for the price for sure!
Great video
Thank you sir!
I have this zoom lens and Omegon 90/1000 .mm telescope but when I zoom in the image is getting darker. It is only clear at 24 mm. What else do I need to get sharper images after 100x zoom? Do I need a better diagonal?
Great video! I was purchase SVBONY zoom eyepiece (SVBONY SV135 - 7-21 mm) as well :-) but I can´t use yet on the Moon :-( but I believe, that will be nice sharp view on my 10" Dobsonian :-)
Thanks and clear skies!
It turns out that SvBONY produces 5 zoom eyepieces. A $150 3-8mm 6 element zoom eyepiece SV215 with a 56 degree field of view (FOV) and 10mm eye relief. A $40 7-21mm 6 element zoom eyepiece SV135 with a 57-40 degree FOV and 18-16.3mm eye relief. A $40 10-30mm 5 element zoom eyepiece SV170 with a 51-33 FOV and 17-18.5mm eye relief. A $64 8-24mm 7 element zoom eyepiece SV171 with a 56-38 degree FOV and 18-19.5mm eye relief (this is the one you tested). And a $80 7.2-21.6mm 7 element zoom eyepiece SV191 with a 65-42 degree FOV and 18-20mm eye relief (this is the one I bought).
Do you know the eye relief of it? It looks much more substantial than my celestron zoom 8-24x, almost like a Xcel line (60° fov)
Svbony states 18-19.5mm long eye relief which is pretty good.
@@AVAstronomy that’s excellent. Sold.
Is it possible to fit this on top of a monocular without replacing the eyepiece? I'd like to have this zoom functionality on my monocular
Not sure that would work out but you may be able to rig it up that way. Clear skies!
@@AVAstronomy Thanks a lot!
Do filters fit good on this?
I already own the svbony 7-21 is there any excuse for buying this one too?
I'd say you're probably good to go already
I'd say you're probably good to go already
@@AVAstronomy I can’t honestly see much difference in their practical usage…..
is this product good?
absolutely. It performs very well and I can see no false color in the view it provides.
appropriate for DSLR photography?
You can do what’s called eyepiece projection photography using a dslr. This will be better suited for daytime use but you may get some decent lunar shots this way too.
Would be good to know if this zoom eyepiece has thread under the rubber . If it helps to you to know, I currently have a zoom 8-24 from Quasar brand (Skywatcher) and it has the thread which I can attach to my dslr , one of my favotite for photo and video !!. Tremendous clarity
@@fugomaye396 great question, unfortunately it does not. The only threads on this eyepiece are at the smaller end for filters. Would have been a nice feature though.
Price?
$49 US dollars.
I've got £100-£200 camera lenses that have much, MUCH worse chromatic aberration than that eyepiece...
I know right! Me too! I was totally surprised by the quality of this zoom Eyepiece. It’s definitely a keeper. Clear skies and God bless!
Hows it compare to celestron ?
