Just exquisite! Both you and your mom are consummate artistes. P.S. I would love to see Nichelle Nichols as Lieutenant Uhura from the original Star Trek TV show. See was such a classic Beauty it would be a lovely tribute since she passed away a short time ago.
I was super worried when you said she was going to make a hoop skirt. I was like, Nooo, that dress is a bustle dress, not a hooped dress, but then you mom made an amazing little bustle petticoat. They also used "lobster tails" in that era, that were like a separate set of hoops that tied around the waist. They could have used a lot of tricks to mimic the style of clothing in GWTW, but David Selznick insisted that they have all the correct underpinnings, corsets, petticoats, shifts, etc. that were appropriate to the time. It was a huge undertaking and the costuming department did really amazing job. If costuming had been a category in 1940, it surely would have won the Oscar for it.
Absolutely stunning! One question, why did you opt to not paint her hands and part of her arms to give her the matching gloves? Otherwise, she’s perfect! 👏🏽
Wow! Just wow... To Momma Poppen... what a masterpiece. You are a true artist. I can definitely see where your daughter gets her talent. You make it seem effortless and yet I know there are few people who could create something like that in any scale, let alone for a doll this size. Again... wow!
As someone who used to make historical bustle gowns from this era, it’s really cool to see it all done miniature sized! You and your mom always make such beautiful dolls together, and this dress really shows off your mom’s amazing skills! And your work on that tiny intricate hairstyle: wow!
The most astounding doll. I live in the bustle eras, and bustle gowns are not easy. I am so impressed by your mother's ability to miniaturize ANYTHING and everything. I love your dolls and wish I could afford to collect them.
Oooooh, how exciting! She will look great; have you ever heard of Maureen O'Hara? An Irish rose who I think would fit in with your Hollywood belle collection :-)
Oh, I'm commenting early because I've just finished watching you complete her face and your mom is just now starting her delicate undergarments, but I'm already blown away! You caught Scarlett's expression perfectly, that classic pout and eyebrow... Oh, you have outdone yourself this time, she is perfection!
Your mother's seamstress abilities never ceases to amaze. The talent the two of you have is simply astounding! Gorgeous isn't even enough to give proper description to this masterpiece. I gave you BOTH a standing ovation! ❤❤❤❤
My late mom saw this movie when it originaly played in the movie theater in the 1930's. She was a big fan of Gone with the wind. She just recently passed away at age 96 a couple of years ago. My mom would have loved your creation here.
I love that you made a Scarlett O’Hara doll! “Gone With The Wind” & “The Sound of Music” are two classic movies that inspired me to start sewing clothes for my toys using old materials. ❤️🪡
I really love the new “working music” you used at the beginning of this video. It’s much more friendly, upbeat and fun. And of course your work is fantastic!
I am in awe of you! That looks more like Vivien Leigh than I've ever seen anyone or any company. My mom passed away in 2007 and Gone With the Wind was her absolute favorite movie. A small theater actually had a showing of gone with wind and I got to go and see it with my mom. Making this doll all I could think about as I watched you create Scarlet from a Monster High doll is how much my mom would have loved your beautiful creation. You are truly an amazing talent and I am really thankful that you did Scarlett O'Hara as well as how much you have inspired me to dive back into my art. You are a true blessing❤
Frankly, my dear, you absolutely have to give a damn ! So faithful to the Movie. A lovely tribute to the fiesty Scarlette but oh so delicate Vivian Leigh. Bravo Poppen & Poppens master seamstress mum👏🏼
What you created was phenomenal! Her eyebrow, her hair, the shoes! Mama, you are so fastidious with your costumes, and they are incredible! What immense talent you both possess! The music: chef’s kiss! All of this is perfection! You never cease to amaze me! Magnificent!
I ❤ it! It wasn't the dress I imagined you'd pick, but I ❤what you & your amazing mother have created. It's so cool that you all get to share a similar passion & work together. I'm definitely envious as my mother passed 17yrs ago. I never enjoyed the same hobbies she did while she was alive. She loved to draw & I hated art. I only decided to learn to draw after she passed because I was too sick to leave home & I wanted to honor her memory. To my surprise, I found a new passion in art, I just wish I had discovered my love for it while she was alive. I really enjoyed the Hollywood legends. I'm so impressed with your skill for realism. I'd love to see some African-American legends from Hollywood's golden era would be excellent candidates. Dorothy Dandridge in Carmen & Lena Horne in Stormy Weather, Earth Kitt as Catwoman or just as herself & Josephine Baker in her famous banana skirt would be incredible
Much love to your Mom. Once more she prefectly re-created an iconic outfit in 1/6 th scale. Just wow. Your work is equally steller. The end result is beautiful representation of the elegant Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hare.
How I wish I could hug you and your lovely mother! Thank you for creating this lovely doll, she is perfect. Vivien Leigh, Scarlett, this dress, this moment in the movie, and that eyebrow are EVERYTHING. As you were describing and putting it all together I was saying "Yes! Yes! Yes!" 😂 Wonderful job, ladies 💙
She’s too perfect! As you began, I wondered if you would pay attention to the eye color, but I should have known you’d get every detail right. Her eyes are so spot on and so beautiful! You and your mom are geniuses!
Your mom’s sewing talent continues to astound and amaze me! Absolutely stunning dress, like always. The breadth of your ability to create dolls, shoes, and accessories is mind blowing. So much talent in this family!
That dress is an utter work of art. I always think these dolls are incredible and the outfits amazing but this one in particular with the detail to the hoops underneath is breathtaking. Amazing.
This was one of my mom’s most favorite movies, and I’ve been missing her sooo much lately. This popped up on my main page today, and I just love it! I know my mom would too if she were here.
She's beautiful & like so many have said super sassy! Your mum is a wonder! (Hello Mum!) absolutely gorgeous dress ❤️ wonderful outfits your mum is so talented - I love how you work together with your creativity - you are both so inspiring with your individual & shared skills.
You mother is a magical seamstress, Scarlett that dress is Gorgeous! The way you did her hair & makeup I started to tear up it took my breath away, plus that music is so moving.Keep up the Brilliant work, with Mom🤗
I have a collectionable Barbie Scarlett in the green curtains dress, I first saw the doll as a child and I fell in love. Many years after I managed to track it down and buy the doll, I love her! It’s hard to believe that you could transform the Monster High doll so much. The dress is spectacular.
Thank you for making Scarlett doll! She’s one of my favorite movie characters and i’m surprised how this doll represents her individuality. I’m so sure that your mom’s fantastic work also adds value for it!!
She turned out absolutely gorgeous 😍 I'd definitely love to see more Golden Age of Hollywood dolls I think Katherine Hepburn would be great as well as Brigdette Bardot
Your moms ability to do such complicated dresses in doll size always leaves me in awe! The sassy eyebrow is so great. I love seeing dolls with more expression than just a neutral smile.
I am so happy to see another old Hollywood doll on your channel! I really look forward to projects like these and I think you did a wonderful job with Scarlett here! I feel like Rita Hayworth's "Gilda" look would be a great addition to this series. That black dress she wears with the black opera gloves, totally fabulous!
That doll dress looks gorgeous! Your mom did a fabulous job. as for the dowel it's done along with miniature color pencils, I used toothpicks and paint to make them. the dowel I only used card stock paper only make three shaped dowel, use box cutter knife to cut the hole & used scissors to cut out three dowel then glue one by one. paint over it then made the paint from Rapunzel's paint's. The paintbrush, me and my art teach will have to work together to make it I also want to make a magical staff that looks like a paintbrush.
Such an education, watching your mother's recreation of that gown! Beautiful work, and the technique is probably very much as such a gown would have been done in the period. Lots of love to your mom, and to you. Wonderful work on the hairstyle. A piece of art, beginning to end.
She is perfect.. all of your dolls are stunning.. and your mom is a true artist as well... She should definitely teach a class on sewing dog clothing because she is the best I've ever seen
Just finished watching. The dress is simply gorgeous. Watching mom work on this tiny fantastic gown was truly enchanting. Those little pantaloons (bloomers?) are adorable.
You're mom is a miracle worker! The dress is beautiful. Also, I really admire the way you styled her hair, that's a really tricky style to pull off, even on a normaly sized head. You did amazing!
I am blown away! This is a doll character I didn’t realize I needed. Her beautiful dress, and the research on her eyes, and that fabulous hair! This is a doll repaint I will rewatch! Thank you so so much!
I’m so glad you did that collab with Novympia! I don’t think I would have come across your channel otherwise and now I’ve been mesmerized for hours watching your talent at work.
