Just can't find your humour in France.. Thankfully haha!! Lived in Bolton/Kearsley/Chorley ish for most of my life and miss the northern accent, and of course the glorious weather!! Take care, I'm watching out for the bell ring to tell me you've another scintillating story to tell :)
Good blend there I think. As you say, the good stuff would stick out like the proverbial thumb. Never considered the saw method, always used an old bread or carving knife. I'm sure you would sell a few DHLC shirts and sweaters if you launched them! 😁
Good to see I’m not the only gardener out there in January! Great advice! Saw is a good one. Have used edging shears before but blunts then so old saw great! Cheers buddy
Great video. This turf looks like the shite ive just received and layed only a few weeks ago. Which in turn has led me to your channel The “get a life” made me lol😂
‘Seeded on a motorway verge’ 😂😂😂 love it. Yeah I too have a secret bread knife and that’s not Cockney rhyming slang . Love the videos Dan. Keep up the good work 👍
But funnily enough it would work if collected, i used get a fertiliser in 2005 which had iron in it and it was dredged from the bottom of a tank which had sulphuric acid in it and was used to clean rusty steel gates, so the iron oxide (rust) mixes with the sulphur and creates Iron Sulphate, its dried out and added to fertiliser
Great video! I took on a relandscaoing job for a neighbor who wants to do sod now instead of grass seed. I'm a lot more confident now than i was 20 minutes ago. After that final step, do you just have to water in once in the evening or is there more to do? Thanks.
@DanielHibbertLawnExpert thank you. And around how long before the first cut usually? It's late, Summer where I am. And is there anything to spray down before the sod? I tore out 250 sq ft of overgrowth and weeds and it's all flat dirt now and soft. Just double checking my steps before we get this sod ordered! I appreciate the advice.
Fiskars one, but wouldn’t recommend it for soil it was all i had on me, came unprepared as was asked the day before to do it, b n q magnusson do a better one its not as wide but its stiffer
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert thanks Danny! Got 2 tree circles to turf as 2 apple trees are passed it and the clients want it turfed. Got a right angled metal rake but like the lightweight ones more. Will look for a magnussen one or similar!
@@mattavalon just use a straight edge of wood to screed it if it only small but cut out the depth of the turf out of each end of the wood thus creating a recess in the new soil then you can get perfectly level
Superb dry personality Dan. Get a life Jedi LOL
You need another haircut Mr Hibbert. 😀Another great video
No chance
Watching you work reminds me of John Wayne. He was a cowboy too!😂😂😂

Ha - don't be so hard on yourself, entertaining at least, put a smile on my face
Hi Dan. Glad to see you back. The winter sunshine is getting my juices going and can't wait to get re seeding come mid march.
You and me both
Looked good in the end.
Question: Can you slowly raise the level of a lawn that’s sunk by adding top dressing over a number of years?
Yes definately but like you say over many years doing it to quick you could smother the existing lawn to much
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert cheers Dan 👍🏻

If hot more than once an evening, just dont let it get out of hand before cutting,
It blended in really well this too was really pleased 6 month later

By the way Dan, which flat leaf rake did you use in the levelling soil bit?
