I love my DEs, but if I'm honest, I think the Injectors are superior. I like them all, but I prefer the later ones with their longer handles and slightly less aggressive heads. Never had a bad Injector shave.
+Mark Evans I had no idea what to expect, and I got excellent shaves from that single blade for two weeks. No trouble, no tugging, no irritation, and so easy to use... as I pointed out, this razor feels very safe on the face. Recommended!
I dragged out my M34 Injector adjustable (1968/1972) today after seeing this viddie. I set it to '5' , injected a Chinese Schick blade ('Chick' blade) and, lathered with some Stirling Soaps 'Red Delicious' soap. OUTSTANDING shave. A little 'Alt Innsbruck' cologne to finish was icing on the cake I have to agree with you Michael, the Schick injectors give up a marvelous comfortable shave and are extremely agile with it. I think this might get moved up the roster :-) Thanks for your great vid!
No worries, I am late to the game with regards to the Injector, but very happy with the razor and another thank you "shout out" to the very kind person who so generously passed it on to me!
I like this Schick Injector, Michael. Razor nice depth and singing! Excellent shave as usual. And say hello to North Carolina! Hello from Italy! :) mauro
+Dismont DeSire such a simple design, and so effective! Very clean, comfortable shave. I wonder if the real issue was the actual blade replacement method? It certainly was not the quality of the shave!
i was given a type m i think adjustable schick injector that was my dads. i use it on setting 3 love it. i just bought a type g that should be here in a few days can not wait to try it. i like them over de persoanlly
When I joined the Navy 1968, I was issued a Schick L-1, even though I didn't have anything but "peach fuzz". Still have it. I graduated to the Gillette Atra when it came out.
I wanted to ask you where did you Buy That vintage Schick injector from 1955-1958 plus I'm going to Buy an off branded Schick injector which is a replica of the Type L which was between 1967-1984 plus I shave against the grain with My Schick Xtreme 3 cartridge Razor would I Be able to Shave against The grain with The Schick injector off branded That I want to Buy on eBay plus I Like to shave against the grain Because it takes off The Beard hair
I was about to ask if you had an injector razor Michael. Like you I have found them very comfortable, easy shavers. However, I still prefer DE razors for the choice of blades and typical metal construction. Some injectors can give a very efficient shave though.
It is an expensive soap, which some people love (including some excellent scents) and which does not work well for some. If you underlather, or do not use enough water, the lather can feel dry and not slick, but that is easily fixed. I like the soap a lot, but there are others I would absolutely choose over LPL.
+mel inDC Tough one, because they all have been so good! Haslinger is right at the top, as is the Meißner Tremonia, followed by the Lainess and Van Yulay (pretty much a tie), and the Volcan. They are all really good though, so see which ones you should get based on availability and price. You will not be disappointed by any of these soaps.
Maybe just go with the grain on your neck, or very gently go across the grain? Try again, perhaps, because the razor is really surprisingly good and your neck may well thank you later (grin)!
I have no idea, sorry, I have never shaved with the Hawk, but I will say that the Injector is a really EASY razor to use and can give you an excellent shave with little work. It feels a great deal like shaving with a cartridge, in a good way, and I would highly recommend one if you have not yet tried it. Perhaps somebody else can comment on the Hawk?
8:15 - no it's not like a cartridge razor. Many people compare injector to a cartridge which is wrong. I think that this misconception comes from a shape of injector razor. Because in shape it looks like a fixed head cartridge. But in function injector totally different. First, injector uses much thicker blades compared to cartridge. Thicker blades cut whiskers totally different. Thick blades have no wobble compared to thin cartridge blades. Second, you have to find the angle on the injector, usually you hold injector head flat against the skin and adjust to 45 degrees angle. Where on cartridge - blade angle build in the head. Third, build quality of the injector razors surpass almost any modern cartridge. Forth is subjective, but it's videly accepted that injector blades lasts a lot longer than de blades. I would assume that it would last longer than cartridge. Injectors have more qualities with a straight razor. Because how rigid blades are. It's should be handled accordingly. No pressure, keep the 45 degrees angle, change the blades as soon as they become uncomfortable or dull.
Has anyone ever told you that you look like actor Ben Cross who played Maleagant in First Knight (1995) opposite Sean Connery, Richard Gere, and Julia Ormond?
Buffing= cheap cartridge effect. Not joking.....I really am convinced those 5,6 or 7 blade carts were designed and made for buffers..... I am all for long strokes...... buffing=ruined sensitive skin....
I like the combination of both, I like long strokes for some parts of the shave, and buffing for others! Buffing helps me get a closer shave on the ATG pass, for example, but not with every razor (no buffing with the R41, for example).

Yep.. a very generous gift . Nice when you get a gift you really really dig!
Another fine video, Michael. I love that Schick, I have the cream/gold version. The longevity of those blades is fantastic. Happy father's day to you.
+Dallas Sutherland and to you as well, assuming you are a dad too!

I like this Schick Injector, Michael.
Razor nice depth and singing!
Excellent shave as usual.
And say hello to North Carolina!
Hello from Italy! :)
mauro
I forgot to shout out "Allora, miei amici, cominciamo!"
Next time, not to worry!
Ahahahah
Ciao Michael! :)
I've always wanted to try an injector, but that's just another rabbit hole I don't want to go down lol. Nice video.
Impressing engineering of very famous razor. This is actually a prototype of cartridge razors. And it's shave pretty good.
+Dismont DeSire such a simple design, and so effective! Very clean, comfortable shave.

+Donald Navygoat23 Great job hanging on to that!
Ha! I still have my navy issue shower kit from the early 90's. Wonder why we save that stuff?
I think I have a schick injector somewhere, this made me what to use it. Great shave, thanks
+Rob G once you have a go, let us know how it went!

happy fathers day
+Booraad Gaming thanks, and same to you if you are a dad as well!
I live in NC also and get injector blades and PAL blades for my gem at Lowe’s foods still today
+Ryan Badgett what brand are the injector blades?
Michael Freedberg they are Schick
Any chance you'd be willing to part ways with this injector been dying to find one in that color

+zec668 choice of blades is indeed a big deal. I am going to order some of the Pella Injector blades so I can compare to the Schick blades.
Personally, I find the Schick blades to be better (more smooth and sharp), but I don't mind the Pellas either (they are actually Personna blades).
Having Le Pere Lucien is it worth buying this soap? What about performance?
It is 17.50 euros per 100gr. Not cheap.

Donkey milk candy. sounds tasty!
+Paul Iq I hope to get some if and when I place an order for this soap, may just have to eat one of these candies in a future video!
Awesome!
Nice video. Will you rank the milk-based soaps in terms of their post-shave feel? That would help me decide which of these soaps to purchase.Thx.

Another great video. I had that razor, unfortunately I butchered my neck with it.

Michael, any thoughts to how this might compare to something like the Razorock Hawk razors?
I have no idea, sorry, I have never shaved with the Hawk, but I will say that the Injector is a really EASY razor to use and can give you an excellent shave with little work. You said it was the first time shaving with that razor. How is it that you shaved so many times with that blade??🤔

You know, I don't think so!! I usually get Harold Ramis :-)
