The deception disgrace song will never not have me, like the way they all had that ready and rehearsed the SECOND Kovu messed up is honestly everything
😂😂😂 I’m dead they did have it rehearsed
NO BUT WHY IS THAT SO TRUE???? 😂😂😂
It is hilarious 😂😂
Do they sing it every time someone gets exiled? 🤔
It used to scare me as a child
The idea of a lion being from the hood will FOREVER be hilarious to me 😭
😂 I mean they didn’t give Kovu a daddy
@@christinechewe2067 XD
@@Im_niaxxScar is his daddy tho
@@vodoumyersbut he isn't. He took him in. Zira stole him from Jua
@@Jafuaforlife3246 He looks like him, has the same mane as him, low-key built like him & even has a scar just like him. How can that not be Scar's son when the resemblance is uncanny? And who dafuq is Jua?
alternate title: “Lakia sings the entire Lion King 2 soundtrack”
Lol
Trueeee 😂 and she even passed the vibes onto me I LOVE ITTTT 💃 🥳🥳 IN UPENDIIIIIIIIIIII
another alternative title : “The lion king 2 (cover) by Lakia Jai” lmaooooo
Yeah😂
I love the upendi and love will find a way songs in the lion king. I keep getting the upendi song stuck in my head every time it comes on
I love the original, but uh...yeah, I actually prefer this movie. Not only is its sountrack so freaking good, but it's based on my favorite Shakespear play, Romeo and Juliet. Plus, Kiara and Kovu are just adorable together. :)
I just recorded a reaction to Romeo and Juliet lol I didn’t even realize the connection
@@LakiaJaiTV It took me many years to realize it as well. lol . It wasn't until maybe 2013 when I was 21 that I drew the comparison. Two families at odds, the son of one falls to the daughter of the other, one of the friends/brothers dies because of the conflict, the only thing missing is the death of the lovers.
The first movie is based off of Hamlet as well!
I love the ordinary but yeah but I watch the a lot the movie I watch it on my phone and my computer and I love it so much the movie

FACTS! KOVU IS..... A VERY WELL WRITTEN CHARACTER, ESPECIALLY FOR A DISNEY SEQUEL
like fr! he reminds me of this one boy I met in middle school! we did the lion king play and were in chorus together and he's so nice!
@@thebeckysquad1326 aww that sounds nice
@@memyselfandi7782 it is! :D
Lion King 2 actually had two dark moments cut from it.
- When Nuka was crushed by the logs, his dying words to Zira were "...I finally got your attention... Didn't I?" before Zira shushes him.
- (If you look closely when Zira falls into the rapids, she's smiling) Right as Kira reaches close enough to grab her, Zira looks down at her impending doom and laughs "No...Never.", and lets go.
There's also an entire scene cut where Zira shows the PrideLands to her cubs after Vitani and Nuka tell her they saw Kiara's presantation ceremony. Such a nice scene they cut.
Zira is disneys first suicidal character
@@hassanalkhalaf1115 true
Zira's death scene is edited, as the extended scene is only a few seconds longer but it makes it much more clear that Zira rather kills herself than accept help from Kiara. I think Disney didn't dare to go all the way so they cut it short to make it a bit more ambiguous, even though we can still see Zira smile as she's falling.
Should of kept those. Zira was filled with hate and her song was nothing but murder, and Nuka's definitely was needed since he was Scars son but was always pushed away. He was never given a chance.
“He lives in you” was actually written for the lion king Broadway show but they added it for the movie sequel!
THIS!
It wasn't, it was actually from the Rhythm of the Pridelands album, but it was included in the musical and this movie.
The thing I love about the two openings is the first movie gives off very warm loud sun rising feelings.
The second opening starts out at night and has a very soft moon like feel to the music and then transitions to the morning
I admire how “He Live in You” imbues a sense of relief after having endured the first film’s ordeals and readying for those awaiting the newborn princess’ generation
“Because it soothes my inner kitty…” Lmaooo 💀😂
Zira really be having a way with words. 😂
I was obsessed with this movie as a kid!
You have taste.
Same lol
I loved this movie as a kid also. I loved this movie better than the original
same, my grandma had it at her house and i would watch it all the time :')
Fun Fact: Adult Kiara is Voiced by The Legendary Scream Queen Neve Campbell aka Sidney Prescott from The Scream Trilogy
This made my day so much better
Omfg this >>>> neve is a legend
What! No way?!
holy wow, i've been watching this movie for years and i never realized that!
There is only 1 thing I need to say.
Deception
Disgrace
Evil as plain as the scar on his face
Not one of us is the best song and that's a fact
This movie made me fall in love with the outcast/bad boy trope... at like 5 years old 😂
My man Zazu didn’t talk throughout the whole movie. The only time he talked was to warn Simba about the outsiders
Well, he ALSO told Kiara what outsiders. That’s something I guess. I’m guessing it’s cause they couldn’t get Rowan Atkinson back for the voice.
I've always said "Love Will Find A Way" was Superior to "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" PEOPLE CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH! 🤭🤣
It's such an emotional yet amazing ballad!
I agree, it’s just so beautiful 😍
Top Disney villain song
1. Be prepared
2. Poor unfortunate souls
3. I got friend on the other side
One of the things that make this movie so special is the fact that we get to see Simba 'mess up', and be an overly protective father, who makes mistakes, but learns from them. I also love how the lions reunited at the end. & the fact that Kovu had a soft spot for Kiara since the 1st time they met.
I admire how “He Live in You” imbues a sense of relief after having endured the first film’s ordeals and readying for those awaiting the newborn princess’ generation
I am so glad I was not the only who thought Simba was attractive.
I love how both Lion Kings are heavily influenced by Shakespeare. Lion King 1 by Hamlet and then Lion King 2 by Romeo and Juliet. Lion King 2 is so underrated and while I absolutely ADORE LK1, LK2 will always have a special place in my heart
Not one of us and He lives in you are two of my all time favourite Disney songs. This movie has amazing sound tracks. The original movie is also amazing with the villain song. Huge agreement with the sound tracks
Also, He Lives in You is included in the musical adaptation of The Lion King.
Those are literally my top two as well. Circle of life number three I think
You are right. The Lionesses are the ones who hunt, while the male lion is doing nothing.
Simba, don't restrict your daughter from bringing you food. 😭
For real 😂
Dont forget that nala is his half sister because there was only one male (mufasa) in the pride
@@Igenous_129 I got a little worried that the branches are that tree were intertwining more when there was question of whether he was Scar's kid, as ... um, that's Kiara's uncle. And her parents have the same dad... So, while yes I agree the soundtrack in this one is absolutely a winner the best thing is that the love interests aren't related.
@@Igenous_129 In the lion guard (a series about their son; Kion) it explains that Nalas father was a stranger saved by the past lion guard!
She said “Scar wasn’t my daddy.”😂😂😂😭😭😭
3:02 and Baloo and Bagheera, we stand for couples of dads who take care of their cubs😌👏
Fun fact: I actually watched this movie before the first one because I only had this movie as a VHS. I never once realized that this was the SECOND movie. But I adore this one so much, this one honestly speaks to me so much more from a storytelling standpoint than the first one. I just love movies about conflict resolution and people learning to accept each other. And yes, the music 100% better and your performance of each song has me SENDINGGG!!!
Yes! This!
Omg, I literally had the same experience!! I thought that this movie was the "Lion King" that everyone always talked about.
Me too. I loved this moovie so much!
Wow, I’ve never had an original experience, huh?
Same, lol. And I'm more invested in the sequel too. 😁
Even if Kovu WAS the villain, I'd still want him to succeed lmao
My toxic trait is that I like this more than the first one 😂
Same💀
Same
It's not toxic 😞👎 if it's the truth 😢😮 don't let that get to you 😭 lmaooo I like it too more than the original tbh 💕💕😜 the first one I kin of boring to me in my opinion I guess
Same
The original is timeless yes, but I also really loved the second one I watched a LOT as a kid too! the soundtrack is out of this world, i knew every single song as much as the original!!!!
"simba was not a great ruler"
I mean, to be fair, his reactions are somewhat understandable despite being kinda rash sometimes.
He's been tHRU SOME SHIT as a child/young adult, I cant blame the guy for being mildly paranoid/overly cautious... it's the 🌟trauma🌟 🙃
(and considering what happens later, you can't say he was wrong to be worried, y'know?)
God I love this movie..
He was though 😢😮 what do you mean???
'We Are One' always made me emotional as a kid because I'm such a daddy's girl 🥺
Almost everyone calls me crazy when I say that Simba's Pride is the best Disney sequel out there, and I only say that because of the apparent love and care put into it. It's not on the same level as the Lion King 1 (in terms of looking like a full theatrical release like the first movie was) but it's just as pretty and like you said, all the songs are bangers. Plus the characters are written a lot better and it still continues to the story instead of being rehash of the first film or just telling a random one shot story from Simba's childhood serving as a midquel kinda thing. It doesn't "forget" the events of the first movie (lookin' at you, Hunchback of Notre Dame 2).
My Lullaby is literally one of the best disney villain songs hands down
i remember watching this movie so manyyyy timesss. the nostalgiaaaa. thank you for reacting to this movie, its one of my favs from disney
Yo why did Disney give the brown lion no dad, they knew what they were doing with giving Kovu daddy issues. 😂
The song in the opening is sung by a very well know South African singer and his background singers are singing in isZulu (Zulu) which is one out of eleven different languages that we have here in South Africa, we are also known as the rainbow nation. 🇿🇦 💚
Hey , a fellow south African
Thanks! I was curious what language it was.
Hi! I'm also South African!🇿🇦💖
I wanna go to South Africa but I heard it's extremely segregated down there
I'm not gone lie, I like this soundtrack and overall film more than the original...and My Lullaby is better musically than Be Prepared. BUT Be Prepared had more effort in the animation so it was more dynamic, but that's to be expected since the 2nd film was straight to DVD.
What I noticed about these sequels is that love interests from the original movie are pushed into the background. Nala, Eric, Esmeralda, Jasmine, Meg, Wendy, Perdita, & Lady
Nala was pretty irrelevant in the lion gaurd too honestly. But like her character wasnt anything special in the original either just love interest who tries to convince the main character to do something they dont want. She was used as a narrative device to push the plot forward more than being her own character therefore her role in a story where she isnt needed is reduced. This is a love story for Kiara and Kovu and a story about Simba getting over his truama and division from the events of the first movie. So again Nala was relegated to narrative device(acting as a voice of reason) rather than being her own character with an arch.
Was always kinda mad that Mufasa was like “good job” to Simba even though it was all Kiara that knocked sense into him lol
OMG I totally agree, Lion King songs are iconic and classic, but this soundtrack slaps 👏 I was straight up singing with you the whole time 😂😅
Ok if your confused about Kovus Adopted siblings they were scars kids but his genes were bad so he told Zira to find a cub and she brought back Kovu who was strong and the reason Fatalene wasn’t chosen was because she was female so Kovu it is
I always thought scar just found him and took him in but the idea that his genes sucked and he was looking for a lion with strength makes alot of sense and very scar like since he moves with ulterior motives.
I will say, of all the Disney sequels, this one is EASILY in my top 5 for best Disney sequels. Right up there with Rescuers Down Under and Bambi II. The animation is gorgeous, the songs are SOO good, and I like the story. Its not just a copy paste of what the protagonist went through the first time. I liked the secret in this movie....that while Kiara IS Simba's daughter and the future Queen of her pride, that's only half of her identity. It was only when she and Kovu fell in love and brought the two prides together that her reflection became whole.
I love both lion king movies with all my heart, literally my favorite Disney animations, but between Mufasa's death and the song disgrace Disney forever traumatized me for real
I love everything about this movie but want to shout out the animation. It’s so freaking crisp and the colors are incredibly beautiful. Also appreciate that the character designs are basically the same.
So many sequels seem to really muck up the character design and the animation is just lacking.
I agree that the soundtrack on this movie is very underrated. We did the opening song for chorus back in middle school. It gives flashbacks
It still shocks me how many people have never heard of The Lion King 2. I draw the characters and listen to the songs from this movie all the time. I'm obsessed with it. I love it more than the first one and that says ALOT.
I like that Lion King is "Hamlet" and The Lion King 2 is Romeo & Juliet 👏👏👏
And Lion King 1 1/2 is "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead" 😄
You and I would have a BLAST belting out Disney songs together when watching them. Hehehe, you're totally right about this movie, songs do SLAP! I loooooved this movie growing up and always use to sing Kovus Lullaby. I always thought the evil lionesses looked cool. xD
I really preferred this movie to the original, especially "My Lullaby". You can still catch me screaming "THATS MY LULLABYYYYYYYY" at the top of my lungs
For a good chunk of my childhood I didn't know the original lion king existed so for like seven straight years the sequel was my life! The songs in it are so good and are so underrated!
This movie deserves more love than it gets. I love your commentary for this movie!
We need full covers of these songs.
Girl why did you say everything I feel about this movie?? And why were we harmonizing during Deception??😭
I LOVE this movie! Its by far the best disney sequel. Also I’m singing and dancing to all the songs with you, girl!
fun fact Zira in Swahili is translated to Hatred also ziras alternate death was diffrent like when kiara asked to help her back up zira said "...no....never" and with a smile she falls to her death
The “He Lives in You” song took quite a bit to finally get to animated form. It first appeared in an album of original songs based on the movie, then going to the Broadway movie, and finally arriving in this one
Lakia just proved that there needs to be a Disney Karaoke bar made somewhere😎🎶🎤
I've always loved this movie more than the first one because I saw it first lol. The music is BOMB. Kovu is FINE 😍🤣. And "He Lives in You" definitely just ministered to my spirit lmbo.
I've always loved this movie! We had this soundtrack on CD when I was little and I listened to it all the time. Most of the disney sequels I've seen don't come anywhere close to the first, but for me this and the first lion king just feel like a duology and they are both fantastic.
Kiara being voiced by scream queen sidney prescott aka neve Campbell is just fantastic 👏
I mean to be fair, the first one wasn't meant to be about romance. It was about getting Simba to take his rightful place and the romance just happened meanwhile with this one, the forbidden romance is front and center
Final someone that has good taste, I loved this movie as a kid :)
I love The Lion King 2 better than the first one
You think so 🤔
@@LakiaJaiTV Yes
Same here. I vibe with this one way more than the first.
It could probably also be because this was the first Lion King I watched and I didn't see Part One till I was a bit older...lol
Same here!
This movie did not hesitate to call me single 😭😭😭 they're so stinking cute, I can only wish😩
Proof sequels can still slap when done right 🙏🏼🙌🏼
ok but the Tina Turner version of 'He lives in You' is *chefs kiss*
The funny part about Kovo saying "Bet you do. Bet you're daddy's little girl" is that he was stolen from his family by Zira and Scar
Disney is thinking of doing a live action of The Lion King 2 but they say it focuses more on Mufasa's and Scar's past.
Fun fact: In the original script, instead of Zira falling off the cliff she commited suicide after Kira offered help. That's why you can see her smile as she falls. Pretty dark shit lmao.
This is one of my absolute favourite Disney movies and it’s such a good sequel which I don’t say about sequels very often
Also the animation was really good for a sequel!
I grew up watching this along with the first one, they're honestly a couple of my most favourite Disney movies because of the stories and how beautifully animated both movies are. 💕
My middle name is Kiara. 😌💜 This movie made me appreciate it and also made me act like a lion because I really thought I was one inside 😂
I have the same life story except my middle name is Ariel. And i did consider myself a mermaid with legs as a child bc of it🤣
The first one is my favorite Disney animated movie (yeah I'm not the kind of girl that likes the princess ones lol ). This is definitely one of one of best sequels Disney ever did (National Treasure 2 did just for the first)
Simba is an attractive lion 😂 I think the voice actor has everything to do with it lol. Billy Joel as a voice for Oliver and Company is 👌
I'm pretty sure its the same original actor Matthew Broderick
Just so you know, you can say you like one type of movie without putting down another. It just came off as a bit misogynistic.
I agree that this is great for a Disney sequel, but just sayin.. it's literally a princess movie lol (technically)
i really want a live action version of this film!!! I'd love to see what Zira and Kovu would look like realistic
I'm more of a fan of The Lion King 1 1/2 it's a definite childhood classic for me
I remember loving that movie as a kid I just don’t remember the plot at all now
@@LakiaJaiTV it's pretty much Timon and pumbaa's side of the story during the first movie
It was so funny.
@@Shaunmizer 1 emulated _Hamlet,_ 2 emulated _Romeo & Juliet,_ and 1.5 emulated _Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead_ (a 1966 play from the POV of 2 _Hamlet_ side characters during the main story’s events)

I always say the same thing. Forget being Queen, I’m a princess lol
Right lol
The music is definitely underrated. They do hit differently.
He lives in you has a more ethereal and calming presence to it.
Will always love Elton john and the first movie’s songs.
My lullaby is not as iconic as “be prepared”, but I think the singing is better.
I know this is a Romeo and Juliet story, but “One of us” is a neat interpretation of how you cannot judge someone so quickly and reinterpret what being a traitor is.
I love how Kovu (at least by Disney standards) is one of the first misunderstood good characters and heroes. I always resinated with characters who are seen by almost everyone they encounter as bad even though they never were. At least, Kovu never gave up and earned the trust of “Simba’s pride” and Kiarra.
I always thought it was weird they had to state in the movie that Kovu wasn't Scar's son... but now that I think about it as an adult, it makes sense they'd want to try and remove any possible incest vibes between Kovu and Kiara, as they would have been uncle/niece? Still, Simba and Nala are siblings, having the same father according to the lion kingdom.
(Saw on the wiki Nala has an "unnamed father" but that's incorrect, as she would have been killed if she was fathered by a different male lion.)
Rest easy knowing that they're actually cousins :D
I wish that it was more clear that Kovu wasn’t the son of Scar, at least dialogue wise. As a kid I was struggling to see that they weren’t related and was like “umm they’re cousins, but like lions too so like” just wish it had been more clear. Originally they were going to make it be that Kovu was Scar’s heir but didn’t want to promote marrying into the family, I feel like they could’ve said that Scar was just adopted or something to make it seem more impactful that Kovu didn’t want to be in his shadow but still good :)
My aunt had this movie on DVD and I remember watching it every time I stay over at her house
THANK YOU! All these years I've been saying the soundtrack for this movie is better.
Your singing to "He Lives In You" (and the others too) gave me joy.
That last line in the movie is what I hope God our Heavenly Father with say to me (and everyone) at the end “well done my daughter” (or son).
When I first listened to one of us as a child, I was scarred for a while. Until I found out that the love story had to do with Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala. And Kovu, son of zira, and heir to scar’s pride. When I saw zira scratch Kovu, I was so mad, I destroyed a plastic water bottle, a milk jug, and a pencil. During the whole movie, I felt so bad for Kovu. In my opinion, with Kiara’s comfort and her by his side, he can achieve anything with Kiara by his side. Forever and always. I’m happy those two are together. I even thought of a ship name. Let me know what you think. Kiovu
Kivu? Kovara? Ki-Ko, Ko-Ki? KK?👀
@@lioness.goddess I like your selections, but Kivu and Kovara make more sense in my opinion
I swear the character design for Kovu and Simba is criminal, why did you gotta make this lions so fine?! ✋️😭 I love this movie, Upendi is such a vibe fr 😍
I absolutely love this movie. It's definitely the best of the older Disney sequels, and arguably it's almost on the level of the original Lion King. I love the franchise, it's literally my life, so I love to see more people spreading the word about how good this movie is.

19:36 NO WAIT LAST ONE SERIOUSLY HOW COULD I NOT???? THIS WAS SO CUTE AND FUNNY AT THE SAME TIME😭💞
I love every single one of these songs. And I 1000% agree, better sound track than the original. I prefer this movie overall more than the original (but I still absolutely love both). He Lives In You is gorgeous and haunting, much better than Circle of Life imo. We Are One was my childhood favorite, I would always sing it. Though now, grown up and looking back on it, rewatching this movie, I can't not tear up on Simba's line "Even those who are gone are with us as we go on." Losing someone extremely close to me... It hurts, but it helps. My Lullaby and Not One Of Us...Come on, do I even need to explain those? Love Will Find A Way and Upendi are my least favorite, but they're alright. I like the less happy ones lol
Yes I tear up on We are One as well I actually learned how to play it on piano years ago
I’m sorry nala and simba have NOTHING on kovu and kiara and I will take that to my grave.
Thank you!! I’ve always felt biased towards this movie because my mother decided to name me after the main (she through in an “H” for flavor). It’s nice to see I’m not the only one in love with it!
Imagine having the sequel to an amazing film still hold it’s on, Disney y’all did that. Lion king best Disney movie I don’t accept constructive criticism.
Love the this movie, love the first one but I do find myself watching the second one at least twice more than the first one. Plus Kovu was a fan favorite let's be honest this movie
Lebo M is an AMAZING song writer. Rhythm of the Pride Lands was the best Lion King soundtrack.
"y'all just so hostile, y'all ain't smile in 15 years..." "Dang do y'all have joy?" Took me out😭😂🔥
Fun fact: Cam Clark, the voice of Leonardo from the original animated TMNT series, and the voice of Lancer in the original Voltron series, is the singing voice of Simba in this.
Yup!
As a South African I have you agree with you that He Lives In You hits different. Circle of life will always be a classic but HLIY hits home especially the Zulu part( even though I myself am Tswana)
Great reaction my the way, I love your channel 👍🏾
The 1st soundtrack is more iconic, the second is more spiritual
This movie is so underrated. Literally my favorite. I actually listen to the soundtrack at night. And I’m pretty sure they did use some of this soundtrack during the plays. Fun fact I named my kitten after kovu, and it upsets me that when I tell people his name vary few recognize where it’s from. Definitely an underrated movie and it makes me so upset. Scar is my favorite Disney villain ever. I dressed up as scar for Halloween 🥲 obsessed much maybe
Melodically speaking My lullaby is a lot stronger and I remember it more than be prepared which is mumbling most of the time..
