After I watched your green to blue video I used what I learned and am extremely grateful for the time you have spent on your videos. This year was the first year I have attempted to run a swimming pool and was ready to just drain it and give up. However after I took the tips you gave in the video and applied them to my pool I was happy that I decided to turn to you tube and got the answers from your video. Thank-You so much!

I don’t have one but that solar powered floating device has a copper rod that puts Cu into the pool not ozone. As for the lights I did find some really nice led ones for cheap that do a fine job. If I ever buy a new house that i need to build a pool i’d definitely add permanent lights but as a retrofit we do what we have to.
Skim around basket WILL cause air to get into the pump. Had to diagnose this at a warranty call, and made them put in the original basket to stop the issue. Love your channel. You do things the way they are suppose to be done, and provide honest info. These crap products increase my pool school time and i want to charge them for the extra time spent. Thanks man keep um coming! Maybe explain to the nice folks out there the advantages and disadvantages between sand, DE, and cartridge filters? Thanks again!

Pool junky and 40 years old. 1st time pool owner, bought property for beautiful land, not pool. Husband complains about how much I spend on pool chemicals, filters, 2 motors, accessories etc. So looking for OTC pool hacks for everyday products. Liked your use of bleach, everyday bleach.
Buying tablets at Sam's Club 1/2 price of Leslie's Pool Supply and exact same container, and size of large 3 inch tablets. But with Covid-19, accidentally bought pool pellets not realizing was such an item. When I tried to put in my floating tab holders, they just spill out immediately. So asked Leslie's store manager what to do with pellets, the size of large sidewalk salt. Ours is chlorine pool. He said just toss it in pool, as it was same as "shock". I didn't like his idea, as it just sits on bottom of pool, and when brushing fills up 4 pool filters (Ours can't backwash). Ideas?
And my pool needs reglazed, as some of the concrete is in chunks and causes issues cleaning. Also tiles falling or fell off already, spa leaking, and can't run pool as indicated. Running 1/2 pool filter >1/2 skimmer basket causes spa to empty in to yard. So add extra chlorine to spa, and forced to buy pool basket with socks works well. With pool nearly all on floor drain, we have to manipulate a.vortex with replacement item. In hottest part of S. Texas and pool will green fast without chemicals. Bought SkimDoctor for skim basket w/socks does pretty good due to our circumstances. Saw video last year a man put in a Quad Drain (upside-down in basket) to cause immediate vortex. I wanted one but Husband said we can't use both, as it will cause too much air in system stopping pool circulation. We've been learning last 5 years. Married 36 years and never argued until we bought this house with pool.
Watching your videos, can't watch all as keep missing my grocery shopping. But want to ask, how do we find our pool impeller that chops up leaves? It doesn't look like one in video you did. Cut down 6 Sega Palms never recommend around pool. Has stickers and thorns had to get surgery 2 years in foot, harbor wasps and insects, and has long 2 foot spaghetti size leaves always got sucked down into drain. Plants to stay away from also cut down 3 Palm Trees. Same reasons as Sega Palms.
Also, a couple videos you mentioned under skimmer basket a weer or wier door? What's that? How do I find it? Should it be open or closed? The main flapper door is missing between pool side (tiled section) and skimmer basket. So figured the weer door you mentioned was where you plug in hoses under skim basket? We have 15,000 gallon pool and 2 holes there. Not sure what each does as one seems to not have suction.
I'm 61 and disabled, and am the "pool pro" in my house. Saying nothing of my lack of knowledge. But it is hard and I do my best to keep in good shape myself. So any great tip or hacks you can toss back to me would be great. Blessings to you. Yours is only I subscribed to, so after grocery shopping and making dinner, hope to learn more.
I didn't see so far your use of pool shock. So you recommend instead or in place of...? And how to get rid of brown stains? Hopefully didn't bombard you with too much. This pool mama is melting in hot Texas sun, and going broke, listening to Husband complain how much I'm spending on chemicals. Thanks again. 😊
P.S. items I mentioned I am not giving personal recommendations. But would like to know of good electronic scrubber for old cement pool like ours. Bought one from Ryobi you use with your poles. The $200 battery had a heat stroke and died. So any decent robotic crawlers or swimmers you don't have to attach with tubing to pool (pool skimmer area)?

Not from a facebook ad but from searching on getting better skimming on my surface, I ended up getting a Poolskim. I have two skimmers which work well but still would have to skim the surface a lot (of course) so I hooked this up to one of my return lines and it actually works amazingly well.

Curious about baking soda in swimming pool? Binging on your videos this morning, just found your site. So, how about use of baking soda, advertised as secret or miracle type item? Saw that post by person, then read back of my A&H baking soda, and entire bag was about this in pools.
Baking soda is just the household name for sodium bicarbonate. Pool stores call it Alkalinity. It’s not magic - but it is part of basic pool chemistry. But A&H in bulk at Sam’s Club is about 1/3 price of magic alkalinity in pool store

They try to claim all these products are the answer to all your pool problems. My problems aren’t necessarily with the products themselves, it’s with the false advertising. We tested the skim a round over the weekend and it actually works alright if you don’t already have a skimmer weir
Can you use a Intex sand filter pump on a in ground pool
My wife “surprised” me with a skim around.
I don’t think it’s hurting the pool but it most definitely isn’t creating a miracle tornado funnel of skimming magic.

Juggling the kids, work, and a home remodel has made it tough to keep up! Oh yeah and both my laptop AND my phone that I rely on heavily to make these videos both succumbed to water damage within a week of each other. We’re back up and running now though!

I’ve been super pleased with it! Ridden it all over AZ, Colorado, and New Mexico on XC trails, DH, and everything in between. It ain’t fast on the flats or up hill but it’s a comfortable bike to ride all day no matter what type of trail you’re riding. What are you riding?

Ya know, we kind of checked them out a couple years ago and they might work ok in the pool that never has leaves, dirt, debris or high bather loads. other than that situation, I wouldn't waste the money.
Why do tablets not go in skimmers?
tricolor (the form of chlorine tablets are made from) is EXTREMELY acidic. like a pH near 2.0. Over time that acidity can build up in your plumbing and damage it as well as your pump and filter. it is NOT cheap to replace a skimmer or fix an underground leak.
@@SwimmingPoolAZ-SPS oh wow, I would put a couple of tablets in my skimmer thinking it would errode the tablets and chlorinate faster, thanks for the info.
what about Borax? Heard it is the ‘bee’s knees’ (i.e. a true winder drug)
