Definitely should add something about galvanic corrosion. When you add salt to a pool always add a zinc anode. This is a great way of protecting your pool equipment especially copper nickel pool heaters. The salt can corrode them in a few years without an anode. Humans have been putting them on boats for a very long time to protect metal in salt water.
