My parents bought their land and built their house in Pacific Palisades on iliff Street for 10,000. All six children were born and grew up in that house. Growing up in the 50s 60s and 70' in the Palisades was a wonderful time. It is extremely different now. When me and my friends grew up in there it was a quaint community with more of a small town feeling. Thank you for your

I grew up on the corner of Iliff & Carey. Bought in 1963 for about $32,000, sold for $2.5M in 2021. Things sure did change in 58 years! It was a fantastic place to grow up!

@@TheEdlenTeam_ No. Can't afford to stay. Everyone that I grew up with has moved away unless they inherited their parent's house, save one. Pat returned to the Palisades to a condo 2 years ago. I'm in Carson City now.

My parents bought their lot on Via De La Paz (way of the peace) in 1947 - built, lot & house for $17,000. Sold for about $1.3mil. in 2007. House raised and a very lovely one built by a local builder (-not ostentatious like so many that are redone on the street to this day...) Great memories of the town as it was, back in the 50's/60's when Clearwaters & Browns both owned Palisadian Post. Times have changed I'm afraid...

Yes, sorry to say, times have changed a great deal since those years - even since the ‘70s when activists were still successfully coming together with major achievements.

Thanks, Michael. You helped us sell our home on Bestor Blvd. in 1990 or 1991 for what was a very good price at the time. That house is now one of those that was razed after developer paid $3,200,00 and new home there sold for over $7 million. Amazing!!

My cousins from my father's side were born Clearwaters' , my father's only sister married Jim Clearwater, one of the sons of lou and Patty(Louis and Patricia) Clearwater, their grandpa Lou was the first baby boy born into the first community that what was settled into the Pacific Palisades. I believe there's a small general store/museum dedicated to the Clearwater family and their contributions to settling the Pacific Palisades...im afraid it may have already been liquidated into oblivion by one of the Clearwater siblings, but i could be wrong... hopefully there was an application of better judgement to that idea...anyhow, i suppose it's no secret as to how the family was so successful in real estate, but also equally as humble. The Clearwaters' , all that I've met, everyone of them had a special quality of kindness and endearing charm. Very proud to have been around my Clearwater realtives, the Clearwater grandparents had such rare genuinity, they made extra special children and grandkids...fisherman of grand skill also!! ❤

Yes, so much of the original appeal and draw to the Palisades as a highly desirable community to raise families and be simple in lifestyle has substantially shifted along with the demographics. Only about half of the previous population remains.
