I had passionate sex with my wife twice last night to “Plexi Soul” Tom . She absolutely loved it ! If we end up having a kid I’m naming it Tom !
Do you really want to say that in class? Maybe save that for hanging I the crapper with your vaping buddies. (Note: you don't have to vape to hang in the crapper, you can text, order lunch, whatever)
@@dannyriccardo-kornpet4599 grow up Peter Pan
@@brian91145 One: I refuse to grow up. I’ve seen people try it- not for me. Two: If you March into a class of eighty thousand and mention a passionate Plexi double header, you can expect tittering from at least ten thousand of us.
Telling an artist you have sex to their song is crazy 💀
Good choice! I can confirm🫡
Uncle Larry’s knee-jerk disgust at the first sound of the $6k Klon should be posted as mandatory disclaimer on all original Klon listings as a PSA.
While I don’t actually own a Klon, I do have a Jrockett Ikon I keep on my board as a clean boost that really fattens up my clean tone and sounds great with my strat. When I put it after my Timmy it’s amazing. My favorite overdrive tone after my cranked black face champ.
@@smelltheglove2038 thats the trick, I do think pafs into a klon is a bad combo as evidenced here. thats when you start getting those funky mids and the nasally thing
@@smelltheglove2038 thanks. I like to hear. Best combo s I never tried Timmy at all And which Timmy. Thanks
Absolutely!!
I love the Klon with teles, strats, 335s, Les Pauls and sgs played through ac30s, black faced fenders, tweed fenders, and plexis. To me its the best pedal ever made. I remember crying to Bill about the whopping $275 I paid for it. He told me to, “buy two”. I should’ve bought ten.
Tom saying “This kind of sounds like a Kemper” about the only digital pedal in the whole thing absolutely validates everything he’s ever said about digital
not to mention picking out the same flaws in the ATOM blind this time that he found the other day
Any modeler that I've ever played, no matter the cost, sounds like the guitar tone is pressed up against a plate a glass along with a faint layer of fizzle over the top that you cannot dial out. That's the best way I can describe it.
Yes, especially those higher gain sounds are so much flatter and mushier and non inspiring compared to a real head in a real cab
Modeling amps are in the same boat in my mind as pickups on acoustic guitars....still got a LONG way to go
@@bleepblabloop I hear it too. I can tell it’s fake. The only caveat is that I can really only tell if I’m hearing it live. On UA-cam I cannot tell at all. It’s because of the digital compression of UA-cam.
The clean sound through the Princeton was absolutely amazing
Larry - you have the nicest “way” with people! Organized but not bossy or rigid. Direct and clear, but kind and respectful of others feelings. Humorous without being silly. Confident but aware that we’re all limited. Thanks for the example.
Exactly like your best bud
❤ I TRIED to express that just today- perfectly stated by you here
Well said
Homeskoolers are a lucky group, getting to go on these exciting video field trips. 🙂
Too bad the pedals took all my lunch money 😂
I was thinking the same thing! In my normal life I would never get a chance to be with a group like this. What a kick to be included...
This is WAY better than when I do this kind of stuff by myself in my cold-ass garage
Took the words out my mouth.
There is one huge upside (among many) to being separated. All my guitar work is done in heated and spacious comfort...and I can leave my guitar on the couch if I want. I have a workbench and a toolbox in one of my main floor rooms. The garage does not have the wife's car in anymore either. Lots of room for me.
You have probably heard this 500 times already, but Tim Pierce said on his lates feed that he used to think Dan Huff was the best studio guitarist he had ever heard, then he heard you and now he thinks you are the best studio player he has ever heard. What ever you are, you are a guitar genius.
😊q
Amazing! I really hope this does become a series. Uncle Larry’s ears are golden
Outstanding show!! You work with a great group of people, so nice to see the skills presented in such fun atmosphere.
Absolutely amazing episode! Can’t wait for more! Keep ‘em coming!!
Awesome ! Guys, thanx a lot, please do more ! 👍👏💪
One of your best. I watched and listened intently. And learned. Thank you.
Awesome...never thought I'd stay with it the full hour but couldn't stop watching. Thank you
The best hour on UA-cam! Thx Larry and all the guys in this episode! Loved it.
I’m gonna need another 10 years of Homeskollin to pass this class today. Great class. But truly love every class. Thanks Uncle Larry
Best pedal comparison/experiment I've seen. Very nice.
I cannot thank you enough for posting this right when I had to do laundry. ❤ So amped.
Man, that was awesome! Thanks to all the guys for pitching in. It takes a village… 👍
Wonderful insights into the ear of the session man, the Princeton and the fun in friendship. Loved every second
After all the pedal comparison videos I've been subjected to in the algorithm - this is the only one I've ever really WANTED to see. What a treat.
Rad!!! A big yes to more shootouts like this! Your commentary of what sounds bad is a great resource for ear training. Especially calling out the offending EQ ranges.
This was amazing! So fun to watch.
What a fun video! And man that SG really intonates well for being vintage.
Man I could watch this shit all day every day. What a treat.
Wish I could like this 1000 times!! Thanks UL & XTS!!
Enjoyed seeing the charisma coming out of Uncle Larry from this angle!
Wow. This was, and _will_ be for future ones, fantastic! Thank you guys for putting all this work in doing those comparisons. Goes to show that surface mount tiny stuff is not necessarily bad. Great one Tom!
Tom, I’d love more of these style videos. Great idea & great execution by you, the XTS guys & pedal shop guys. Man! You’ve got a set of ears on you. Hope Marshall & Leo develop ones just like em. Thanks for sharing so many thoughts, ideas, and music with us.
This should be a monthly thing!!
Tom makes everything sound good !!
Absolute gold dust for these comparisons to be administered by such experts, and via the medium of Uncle Larry's outstanding playing. Every Homeskoolin episode should be committed to the US library archives - as a national treasure never to be lost.
Amazing episodes, so interesting to hear all those awesome pedals 😄
Fantastic , Amazing ,Spectacular ,Incredible episode !!!!!!!!!! Thank you Tom !!!!!!
The best thing is that you are doing this with you friends! It’s even more fun when you play with or for other people!
THANK BUK!!! This was such a fun episode. What a great idea for the show….as if HomeSkoolin class couldn’t get any better… Please do this with all the other types of pedals as you stated, such a great idea..
I like this pedal tone shoot out. I look forward to delay, comp and modulation and whatever other cool stuff on the horizon. Woohoo!!! 🔥
Barry and the guys at XTS are the BEST. Great video . Thanks guys.
I not a guitar player at all, but I have not really ever seen a head to head test and comparison than this video. This was very very cool. It really entertaining!!! Thank you all involved. Great stuff!!!!!
ONCE A MONTH, ONCE A MONTH, ONCE A MONTH...!! Thank you, Unc and all at Guitar Effects Pedals and XTS! This was stellar!! I would love to hear this once a month!🙏🙏🙏
Super cool! What a fun exercise! Looking forward to the next one.
So fun. Love the point about using your ears. Nice seeing you at the guitar last weekend in Franklin. Made my day. Thanks for all you do.
That was just great. Thank you for all the effort. I love amplifiers and tone. It's the only thing that turns me on nowadays.
It's amazing how good your ear is. The speed at which you identified those vintage pedals was impressive.
Great video guys! Good lesson for us home skoolers! Learning to pull back on the gain…clears up the sound in a real good way. Just so much to know with the many variables…thanks to you guys we can learn from folks that know what their talking about. I can not thank y’all enough…total pros guys total pros!!! Thank you!!!
Every time I watch your videos I study guitar for hours, you inspired my friends and me to play and practice every day, THANKS TOM. this channel is an immense legacy for the guitar world. warm regards from Argentina!
Thank you to Uncle Larry, and to the in-house pedal gurus. Fascinating!
What a treat!!!! This was amazing!! Can’t wait for the next ones!!!
This a REAL PEDAL SHOW! Can not wait for the next upload!!!!!
Thanks Uncle Larry!! That was an awesome educational vid!!
Very informative. And self-critical). Thanks, Tom. We look forward to continuing.
This was such a great video. So entertaining. Thanks Tom.
What an awesome episode !
Awesome Tom. That was so worth it and interesting. I'm impressed with your fine tuned ears. This is the best music channel by a long stretch. Thank you brother.
Totally loved this. Thats some amazing set of ears you have there Tom. Great video.
This is an amazing video!!.. Love seeing inquisitive Larry. The search for truth continues!!
“I’d rather go to that party than this party” when you're were at the right party every just came alive, felt and sound right…glorious stuff. great lesson, learnt alot👍🏻
you made all those pedals sound great, now I've gotta decide which to pickup first! seriously great video, thanks!
That was awesome and a lot of fun. Hearing the reasons Tom liked and didn't like certain sounds was very insightful and helpful. Looking forward to more videos like this. Thanks
Best episode yet! So informative! If I learned nothing else it was better language to describe tone. Loved it!
Thanks uncle Larry for this episode. I ordered a nobles pedal after seeing this! As always, you are the man 🎸
I love Ryan Nixon. Seriously I’ve done lots of buying and trading there. Super awesome place and people.
You all Rock for taking the time, great musings, cheers lads.
Very cool UL, thanks! Also, thanks to the panel.
Sold. I just ordered the XTS modded mini No-balls from the very shop you shot your hi-quality edu-tainment. Wish me luck.
Brutally honest? This video was like that....by far! Loved every minute. Thanks to all the guys who made this possible: Ryan, Brett, Barry and Greg. And kudos to Uncle Larry who is not too proud to like the little green one after all ;-)
Can't wait to hear other pedal shootouts.
Great video Tom… informative and entertaining…two thumbs up.
Great video! If anything, this shows that finding your perfect tone takes time. The idea of testing different versions of the same pedal was intriguing. Thanks UL.
You are so amazingly generous with us Uncle Larry. This is has been great....i am simply "green with envy" for a certain green pedal that isn't a TS. For sure i don't have your ears, but i can really hear that "amp" sound you talk about. What a blast this has been.
I have been wondering about that great overdrive sound you always get. So great to see the Nobels ODR being compared between each other. Thanks Uncle Larry!
The chances of me being able to witness what was on display here from Tom, Ryan, Brett, Barry & Greg, without this channel, are nil. I never take it for granted. Amazing stuff. Thanks, guys. Thanks, Tom. 😎
Awesome vid guys, this series could go on for a long while and we are all learning something.
Amazing as always. I love amps and guitar tone . I am by no means tuned in with my ears as someone like tom. Amazing to hear all his comments on what is good and not so good . awesome video..
Great episode! Like seeing/hearing all the different pedals and amps
I'm one lucky person that I follow you Tom, this was such an eye opener for me on drive pedals, just crazy good stuff!!
Thank you very much. This was brillant. Very helpful.
This was my favorite klass to date!!! And you validated my taste….I have a regular and mini Noballs and I always come back to the small balls. You rock 🤘🏼…thanks!
This is class. Loved it. I’m a big fan of the Nobels I have a few of them. Killer!!
Loved this video, especially the No Balls shoot out, great content!
Loved it can’t wait for more to come
This is So Cool, Thankyou. Very interesting to see how you 'reacted' to pedals. Cheers
Love Ryan and those dudes up there! I’ve gotten a lot of my gear from them over the years! They always have some of the best gear in town, especially pedals, and they are great to work with! Good stuff!
Buk!!! Killing it as always bro! This was a great episode we love you!
Another great show uncle Larry👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The first truly entertaining pedal video I ever saw :)
Larry… this was absolutely one of the best pedal demos I’ve ever seen. Thank you for your immense help. I feel like I completely understand what each pedal would do, and it would certainly be reasonably repeatable on my end. Of course the organic side would differ but. Man, so awesome. Love your chops bro!!
Thank You.
This was such a great video.
That was awesome! Cant wait for the next one!
Tom, I purchased a Noballs based on this video. Received it today and I CAN NOT be happier! The tone is great and I love the touch sensitivity. Thanks Bro!
That mini no balls stole the show, devastating episode Tom, excellent camera work…
No balls minis going for 500$ next week. Better jump job it boys 😂
He hated it at first too
@@SSStinger6 Not quite dialed in.
I bought an ODR mini about 3-4 mos ago to dip my toes into the Nobels water and really liked what I heard. But, like a hostage with Stockholm syndrome, I’ve keep my TS-9 (and even the JHS Bonsai which I super dig). The Nobels are the 2nd gain stage after my compressor, before the Bonsai and ending w/ a Boss GE-7 with high mids boosted along w/ level. Add to that an Xotic EP Booster and I’ve got all the gain I need - slamming the front end of the amp just right to make it sing a little.
🙏🎸🤘🎶 Thank you tone gods!
One hell of a show Tom!👌
Thank you gentlemen for the focus on detail with honest feedback. Even the reverse pot pedal was able to be fine tuned, just needed some extra time.
I thought I was the only one who gets instantly irritated with the clean sound ringing through on an effect. 🤣
I feel better now.
The Randy Rhodes Crazy Train dis was hilarious because its so accurate.
So much information in this one Tom, hopefully people are listening to your comments and reactions rather than comparing the sound of the pedals.🍻🤙
Electro-Harmonix day!! Love just about everything they’ve ever made!! Thanks for sharing!!
Great fun Larry, an awesome bunch of guys in the room with you - so glad i could be virtually there dude!
Hands down the most tasteful guitar player , tom playing just has it all! Love this channel !
Awesome! We want more of this! And now I’m going out to buy a mini ODR 😉
Please do this once a month! This is awesome!
just awesome man...thanks again Uncle.....😊
That Princeton is killer, as is basically everything. Great playing as usual
Thanks for this Tom! It might be your most interesting video so far.
Fantastic! Thanks Tom. 🤘
Great video....
Thanks for sharing, buddy!
🙋♂️
One of my favorite spots! Cheers Uncle Larry 🍻
And I thought the little sweet Danny Huff was my favorite video.
There's so much garbage out there nowadays that you really can't find anything worth while .......they're out there but far and few.
Thanks man for another solid one 🤙
Ps: this would be hugely helpful for your schoolers on a regular basis in my opinion. 🙏
