@@OLDCHANNEL597 They are indeed, that’s why I love them! Unfortunately I don’t have enough space to own some turtles, but they are one of my dream pets!
On eastern box turtles you can tell by eye color, or if the bottom of the shell has a dip in it if it does it is a male and males have lighter colored eyes
Thank you for the information but I love turtles and my ADD was fixated on their whittle arms just a moving around like in my head they were saying “Dad I think they get it now can we got back to turtling.”😹😹
So the male and female you were showing together, Are those the same age?? 😮😱😱 I knew the females were slightly larger than the males but I didn't know the size difference was that significant! lol So cool, thanks for sharing!! 🐢🫶🏻🐢🫶🏻
OMG i just have to say..... THOSE ARE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL TURTLES I HAVE EVER SEEN BEFORE!!! And I love turtles, I collect them with frogs... Not live of course lol just collectibles!! LOL But SERIOUSLY.... 😮🤯😍 Those 2 turtles with the white body & black spots & that bright yellow shell pattern... Absolutely Stunning!!! 🐢🫶🏻🐢🫶🏻
Dan, I have a perfect idea for a video. Perhaps you could discuss various ways of locating a lost turtle. As you may know I have recently lost Mr. Purple, and I am searching for ways to encourage him to come home. There are woods behind my home and pastures everywhere else. It's seven acres of territory that I have been scouring over the last two days. I think it would be a great idea if you could put out a video helping those of us who have lost our babies and the best ways to have them return home. 😢🐢💜😭
You can also tell by looking at there claws and tail...males have longer one even if the female is absolutely huge....it could just be red eared sliders but it chould be other turtles though...
Hi DanTheGuppyMan!! I've been watching your videos for quite some time but I would like to know how to diffrentiate Red ear slider tortoises, or is it the same way to diffrentiate as your tortoises?
When you say "incubation temp" do you mean the internal or external temp of the egg? So, if you kept your turtles in a warmer incubation, then all the turtles would hatch as females? If that is the case, what role does genetics play?
In quite a few species adult females are much larger than adult males. In certain water species the front nails of the mail will be much longer and in many land or semi-aquatic species the males plastron is concave for a better “fit” while mating.
I dunno if it’s also true for turtles, but another way to determine sex for at least a tortoise is to look at the plastron(bottom shell) and see if it’s curved or more flat. Flat means female, and curved means male, since the males have to mount the females
That big girl at the end was reaching out for that wee lad, like she was trying to grab him! She was saying, "Gibs 'em to mes, peassss, I wants 'em, I wants mah boi friend!?"
I have a baby baby that just popped up on my carport still trying to figure out how it got there but I'm scared to death I'm gonna kill um it very small
They're like "let me go!!!!" 🤣

The fact that they’re just flailing 😭🤣😭🤣

I don't believe that crap

such pretty turtles! i would love to have diamondback terrapins i absolutely love them
turtles: "let me fucking go"
So it's all in the tail. All those turtles are gorgeous, and fun!!
Yes, quite literally.. all in the tail. 😏
I love the air swimming 😂
As a turtle owner, they do it literally any time they get held! My turtle doesn’t just do the air swimming, she does aggressively fast air swimming 💀
@@OLDCHANNEL597
I was wondering why they were doing that lol, I didn’t know air swimming was a thing!
@@AbnormallyOnline when they're in the air being held by the shell, a lot of times they think they're in the water, they're very goofy animals

Heroes in a half shell
Lol such dangly legs on the turtles. They be relaxed

Very interesting information.
I just love watching your content and learning from you Dan!! Happy Holidays to you and yours!!
Thanks for the info very informative to me as a turtle keeper
So you can control what sex your turtles babies are by controlling the temperature?!?! That's so freaking cool

Omg how cute are they!!! ❤❤
Nice dan, love your videos!
Very beautiful turtle you have bro
And the shape of their plastrons! Male turtles have concave plastrons!
Flipper and Pancake look like Dragon Fruit
I have two turtles and they are male and female
Very informative ❤😊
aww so cute
Damn I want some turtles.
I mean I love that
Is this how snapping turtkes ate to
I’m always enjoying your videos 👏
Put me down, sir! 😅
I heard that if a shell is flatter it’s a female and if it was rounder it was a male
Even Turtles prefer their ladies thick 😆
Small turtle/ Big tail= boy
Big turtle/ Small tail = girl
Got it 😂 👍🏻
Does this apply to other turtles like red eared sliders??? I have one and I've never been certain if they were male or female
Yup the same applies to RES.
My red sided glider got so big had to go to the reptile recovery and educational facility....
Also can tell by their nails. Males have long nails.

Oh no how did you lose your turtle. Did you find him yet? Hopefully losing turtles isn’t so common that he would need to make a tutorial 😢
Big body, small tail- female. Small body, big tail- male. Not perfect but a pretty good general rule.
You can also tell by looking at there claws and tail...males have longer one even if the female is absolutely huge....it could just be red eared sliders but it chould be other turtles though...
So very interesting! Thanks!
When they get bigger or just wait till they get bigger so you can tell their gender detail island have yellow belly turtles
damn flipper is huge 0_0
" as roger from American dad once said does anyone else think I have a massive head"
All the males are peeing LMAO 😂😂
Did anybody else see the male turtle poop 💀💀
The turtles
I had to put my male back in the Bay. He bit my female tail off😢
So funny 😂
And also the plastron
Thx for the info

I never saw this breeedof 🐢
Big tail ayo
Thx now u can know what my turtle male or female
I only have one turtle so I can’t compare. Although I haven’t measured my turtle it’s still a baby and it’s like 2-3 inches
I see that bump in plastron that mean male. If there flat surface in plastron mean female
Where can I buy some diamond turtles?
Are there any turtles that can go in a pond with fish and wont eat them?
What about side neck turtle and the breed who doest have a tail ?
still have no idea how to tell which is male or female
Because of the temperature dependence, global warming is a big problem for seaturtle populations. Less and less male turtles are hatching..
My turtle is named pancake
Is this the same rule of thumb with yellow belly sliders? Skinny tail is a girl?
Above 4” or so in shell length yes you can use this method!
That big girl at the end was reaching out for that wee lad, like she was trying to grab him!
She was saying, "Gibs 'em to mes, peassss, I wants 'em, I wants mah boi friend!?"
Guys I don’t recommend messing with a turtles tail too much mainly because it can give them scoliosis not to hate tho
What about an eastern mud turtle?
I want to buy turtel
Now kiss 💀 💀
I thought the girls had no tails. Huh oh okay. I guess girl turtles have tails then
the boy turtle is the one that is concaved on the bottom of their shell girls are flat.
I have a baby baby that just popped up on my carport still trying to figure out how it got there but I'm scared to death I'm gonna kill um it very small
i found my turtle in my cuz driveway and it is a girl and i dont think it is conferdble around me.
Your telling me to look at the size difference of there tails, while I'm over here looking at the size difference of there whole bodies
my turtle can be whatever gender it WANTS TO BE!!!
Wait until the turtles confused and wants a sex change. All the while crying out but all your thinking is it needs food or temperature change 😂
