- Welcome back to @AutoScholarwithMrB ! Today we are looking at my new car, a 2013 Lexus CT200h. The drivetrain and what we will be discussing today are identical to the 2010-2015 Toyota Prius. I will be posting more content of this car as well so please subscribe for more content!
Many people are afraid of these vehicles due to the high voltage they produce, but there is no need to worry. I show you in this video how to check vital fluids and disable the high voltage system so you can complete repairs.

Hi from Australia. I have run a Gen 2,Gen 3 and a Gen 4 Prius also a Honda CRZ over the last twenty years. None have had any issues beyond normal servicing, all have been very reliable. Only replaced one 12 volt battery and one full set of tyres. Have owned the current Gen 4 Prius for six years. Everything still works, mechanically and electronically so hanging onto it for another couple of years at least. Getting over 50 mpg(us) urban and 54-56 highway. Most reliable car and plenty of acceleration from a rolling start. Going back to a hybrid after having a Civic Type R, Mazda MX30 and a new Mazda 3. Still keeping the Prius. Cheers.
I JDM swapped my CT in about 10 hours. Easy job. These cars are so simple to fix. Love my CT

I have the same car. Just hit 60K on it would love to be able to do as much maintenance as possible myself, but I know nothing. That engine looks so clean wish mine looked like that.

All the lights on the dashboard come on and it won't turn on, it says hybrid error. I open the hood of the car and the fuse box and disconnect the white cable that looks like a mains pipe and wait a few minutes and everything works again. What could be is what I should do. It has that small battery, is it worth putting in a bigger 60 amore?

😀I got the same make, model, year, and color 👍. Owned it for 7.5 years now.. BEST investment in a car I've made YET😉. ONLY recently the CHECK ENGINE light came on, which is a testament to the reliability of this car. I really don't ever want another type of car AGAIN 👎. TOO BAD Lexus stopped production of them about 5 years ago, but I'll certainly be looking into a more recent model in the near future✌️. As long as you keep up with regular maintenance, you'll have the best car experience! I'm so attached to my car 😆

So the 200hnis EXACTLY same as prius line? Interchangeable parts and all? I had a gen 3 prius 1 owner and sold it. Bit hesitant with hybrids but these lexus are neat and a bit premium feel over a prius. Kind of want another.
I hit 222k on the ct200h still running. Although I might purchase a lift kit soon

Yes, same battery. I used the DEKA 9A51P in mine.

I changed battery in my alarm system and recharged 12 battery from different car. Dashboard is showing "Error of hybrid system" write now. Do you know that happened from my car, maybe?

I just got a 2015 with 35k miles and I’m not able to get the mpg to go over 37 or 38 combined would you recommend I take it to the shop?
With that low of miles I would get the hybrid battery checked. You can get a Bluetooth adapter and the Dr. Prius app to do this on your own for less than $50.
idk man, I have 2 priuses with 300k miles on all original parts and all original fluids except oil. No breaks or issues. Am I blessed?

I’ve just bought one with 158000 km with mark levinson.
Same question, I guess it lasts 150-300k km. Depends of is it was cooled enough as I know.
I have question to you. Does it makes some times squeaking sound some times when you realising brake pedal? It lasts 3-4 seconds.

Why does Lexus cover their inverter? Does it make it heat up more? 👍
I think it is just for appearances. Since the inverter is water cooled, I don’t see it causing any problems. Thanks for watching!
Did you clean the engine bay? you should do a video if you cleaned it your self

Isn't there a cooling fan that needs to regularly cleaned to ensure the drive battery does not get too hot ? I believe ther is one in a Prius which if neglected causes the battery to get too hot andgreatly reduces it's life.

I want a ct200h but where I live and my path to work is a little heavy with highway merges where people are going 70 to merge into the same lane I come in. I have heard the 200h is terribly slow merging into high speed traffic.
It is, and probably the thing I like the least about it. I just posted a one year review yesterday and discuss the high and low points after a year of ownership.
@@AutoScholarwithMrB i just need to go find one and test drive it. I figure if I’m going to suffer having an extremely slow car I might as well search for one that has the highest amount of features, Mark Levingston, Soundsystem included.
Twist it into sport mode and you should be fine in those situations
Get caught in Eco mode and you may be toast😂
If you switch it to sport mode it drives like a regular car and you shouldn’t have issues accelerating up to speed.
I’ve owned both of these vehicles in excess of 300000 miles and have had none of the problems he mentioned

Sadly, so many complaints on engine noises..
2014 coming up on 95k, only replaced the 12 volt so far. Don’t drive them hard. Mine looks factory besides a few small paint chips and one door ding from someone
