Being saved by Jesus from witchcraft, new age, and the occult, I personally dont celebrate or participate in Halloween related things. I don't encourage any other Christ followers to celebrate Halloween. Please be reminded, that only God deserves celebration, not man, not a day, not fleshly pleasures. Not to mention, participating in such events do open doors to the enemy. Please be reminded that since the beginning of time, in the garden, the enemy has always lied, and the way he lies is to put some truth in his lie so it is harmless and fine to the human mind. Please pray to Jesus and ask him what he would want u to do. Do not lean on our own understandings, but lean on the word of God.
How does participating in Halloween open doors to the enemy? Genuinely curious. I have done a lot of research on these topics, and I am willing to listen and have my mind changed, but I don't see how handing out candy to strangers or my son dressing up as a tiger is opening the door up to evil?
Handing out candy does one of two things. 1. You are still taking part in a pagan holiday, no matter the cultural twist on it. Is candy evil? No, of course not. Everything in moderation. 2. You are encouraging children to further take part in a pagan holiday that is apart from God. At the end of the day, it’s a single day out of the year. Not celebrating something that doesn’t glorify God is of no consequence when looking at it through Scripture. “Do all things to the glory of God.”
@@abeautifulmoment2714 it's not the act of handing out candy perse that opens the door to the enemy but whenever we disobey God's word we open the door to the enemy. When we are partakers with them in darkness we are violating God's word. I think you may be thinking about it the wrong way.
@@abeautifulmoment2714 if you would just google “why do people dress up on Halloween,” you would understand that the tradition of dressing up on Halloween is to ward off demons. Christians don’t have to do that stuff, because we have already been given authority over those evil spirits by Jesus Himself, (see Luke 10:19). If Christians would literally just educate themselves on what they worship and WHY they participate in the rituals they do, they would know they are all pagan traditions. We are supposed to BE SEPARATE
I celebrated Halloween with my oldest, even as he attended a Christian school because I bought into the while I'll be depriving him of fun and candy that all the other kids are doing. With my youngest, she was scared of all the ghosts and goblins she would see in the stores and never wanted to go trick or treating. Even as she has grown older, she has no desire to trick or treat. She has decided on her own that it is not something she feels God would want her to do. She doesn't feel she is missing out on anything for ONE day out of the year. I'm proud of her for the decision she has made.
I so applaud you for this video! I grew up not celebrating most major holidays because of my parents convictions and they became my own as I grew and studied the pagan origins for myself. Its easy to feel alone raising our kids this way, but I firmly believe this choice as it is rooted in Scripture. We cant be a very good light while celebrating darkness. Thanks for being brave and sharing this.:)
My child told me he was asked why he doesn't celebrate it and told me he responded: "Because it celebrates death and we celebrate life!" I couldn't have put it better or more simply myself! Out of the mouth of babes... Praise the Lord 🙌🏽
We do not promote Halloween in any way and never have, however in recent years I find myself admiring Christians who use this time to share the gospel.
But narrow is the gate and constricted is the way that leads to life, and few are those who find it. Matt 7:14 It’s not easy to leave your kids out of what the world is doing but we must be the examples of those who live a life constricted according to His word and ways.
I approach this in a much different way. I was in the mental health field for many years and had the opportunity to work with some of the most severely abused teens and adults. The majority of their abuse was connected to this time of year. I interviewed an older man that was ritually abused at a young age. I won't get into the details but it was horrific. He spared me of no detail. He, as an adult was attempting to separate himself from that life. I have numerous accounts of variations of his abuse. Those trying to escape the horrors have no place to go this time of year in order to continue some sort normalcy. I just ask that those who believe this "holiday" is worthy of celebrating take into consideration those who have been traumatized that have no place to hide from this "holiday". To say people have PTSD is an understatement. God has made some born again by His sovereign power but still struggle. Please keep them in prayer. The man I interviewed was the son of a deacon in his church. TO GOD BE THE GLORY FOREVER!! GOD RESCUES THOSE WHO ARE HIS!!
But with that same mentality how are we supposed to celebrate anything or go about anything in our lives if by the very nature of your argument, we're to consider the trauma and PTSD others might affiliate with that event? The term "going postal" stems from a phenomenon where a bunch of postal workers were shooting up post offices. Should I now avoid the postal service in consideration of every victim that might have trauma and PTSD associated with that place? Of course not. Other people are not responsible for your triggers and healing. If you don't want to celebrate Halloween because you have a lot of terrible memories from Halloween, then don't, but to state that no one should celebrate Halloween because you have bad memories is a bit much. Unless I'm misinterpreting your point of view. Then please, correct me.
Jeff buchanan! Wow. The man's father was a deacon in a regular church or in satanic church? My sister was a psych nurse who told me stories from a seminar she attended. I felt traumatized just from the stories. Absolutely heartbreaking and terrifying...
@@moldyvoldy1231 are you okay with celebrating a satanic holiday? Don't twist and manipulate her post. Do your research. Ex Satanist and Satanist have come forward and talked about this. John Ramirez is a awesome example.
@Kesha Smith I'm confused by your comment. I wasn't twisting the OP comment. He literally says everyone should take into consideration those that have PTSD from halloween when celebrating.
This has become a topic of apologetics for my kids, my husband and I…. It has taught us a great deal how important it is to test all things alongside/against scripture.
Please take this as a sincere question, Romans 12 calls us to not be conformed to this world, would celebrating a holiday that is pretty much for everything God is against be wrong?
Compare it to Easter and Christmas. We turned those into something that IS about God and still do in spite of our culture continuing to make it about Bunnies and Santa. We can do the same with Halloween/All Hallows day/Reformation day. But it's still easier to make a list for everyone than allow personal convictions to take place.
@@RachelDee show me ONE verse that says we can add to or take away from God's Word??? I'll wait... You can't Christianize pagan customs and actually think you are pleasing God. You can't add a "Jesus" here and there, then pretend it's ok because it's NOT! Easter and Xmas are more wicked and dangerous because it's so deceptive, however, it's all the same pagan traditions, Fire and Tree worship.
These are the world’s “holi-“days. We are to remember the day of atonement (sabbath) and keep it holy, which we have freedom to observe unto the Lord always. We must be separate. The foundations are full of SRA which are abominable to God. May Holy Spirit guide us into all truth.
@@chrystalgarza Put down your pitchfork. I grew up in tribal missions and you're conflating what I said with something I didn't. Not everything you disagree with is a dog whistle for self love progressive Christianity or twisting the Bible to mean what the person wants. Maybe go read Jude 22-23. I'm not adding or taking away anything. I'm not saying we have to do any particular practices to be saved or that it's a way to manipulate God's emotions. I'm not saying just throw Jesus name in there to make it okay. I'm advocating for taking these secular things and showing the world what it looks like to have an attitude and perspective that is centered on the gospel and worshiping the God that made us. Its not ADDING OR TAKING from God's word. It's one way of APPLYING it while continuing to go out into the world evangelizing, showing them something different, and listen to the Holy Spirit for discernment in how to do that. Oh, but that would be riskier to encourage believers to do that then to dole out more legalism and condemnation...
Wow these comments make me sad. I think at the end of the day we can all agree that this isn’t a salvation issue if you choose to partake in celebrating a “fall harvest” or “autumn” instead of the spooky evil stuff that goes on on Halloween and it’s certainly not a reason to be mean or spiteful towards our fellow brothers and sisters who are genuinely walking with the Lord. Some of the comments from professing christians in this comment section are not okay. I don’t understand how you can assume that a stranger on the internet doesn’t have the fear of the lord because they partake in a holiday that has about a dozen different origins from multiple religious backgrounds and faiths. There’s such an easy answer to this debate: use the discernment that you receive from the Holy Spirit living within you and make a decision that works best for your own personal convictions and your families. No need to yell at people in the comments
Agreed. So long as nobody's motive is to use occult practices to usurp power and authority that belongs to God alone, it's not for me to call out as being objective wrong.
Agree! As soon as anger towards another or self-righteousness looking down on someone else enters one’s heart (in the absence of love, not being Christ-like), one would do good to examine one’s heart and motives….
Big problem is, as soon as you Condone something that you know to be Blatantly evil...the quicker it's accepted. Look around you at all the Blatant Evil that has been known for Generations, yet now via condoning it's now 100% Accepted by the Majority. Evil is Evil & Satan along with his minions are Sneaky & Persistent in getting their way with human sheeples. Stand strong & on guard against all types of invasions into your family!!
Perhaps it isn't a salvation issue, but I believe it is one that can give us insight into the way other Christians think about things. I don't know why you're sad there's nothing here to be sad about. On this page it's an academic discussion, however when played out in real life it shows us where other believers as well as ourselves are or are not in our spiritual walk with the Lord; it's very telling about the way people think about their relationship with Christ and what lengths they are or are not willing to go to to honor Him, or whether it is or isn't an issue with them and why. BUT, please be advised that there are many witches, warlocks and satanists who publicly and gleefully thank parents for giving their children over to them on this day each year. Yes, the spiritual battle wrapped up in this day is very real whether people want to acknowledge it or not.
“Why aren’t I Catholic?” Because I never heard the Gospel in 19 years of being born and raised Roman Catholic. Because all that time, I was under the false impression that, when I died, my good and bad deeds would be weighed against each other, and my eternal destiny - Heaven or Hell - would be determined solely on the basis of my own works. Because at the age of 19, I finally heard the Gospel clearly presented from the Scriptures, and the Holy Spirit caused me to be born again, giving me faith in Jesus Christ. Because Catholicism has only served to confuse and pervert the truth if the Gospel. That’s why.
My mom had a Reformation Day Party for our homeschool group multiple times when I was kid. Everyone dressed up and we had themed games, crafts, and food. A treasured memory now and definitely something I want to do for my kids in the future!
I happened to know I was saved for the first time on Halloween/Reformation day. I love that it's part of my story that of all holidays, that's the day I first knew I had eternal life with God and Jesus.
I appreciate your take on Halloween. I've never celebrated that holiday. As a kid, my family had a family night in which we played table games and made popcorn balls. For my children, we did a similar thing. They never felt left out because I made sure that we had the sweets that they liked. We focused on the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday and made a big celebration then.
I really respect Dennis Prager, although I don't agree with everything he believes. But I once heard him speak about being careful to not rob children of joy in pursuit of religion. Having a faith should make us a more joyful and celebratory people. In that vein, we do celebrate Halloween with our children and have done it in many ways over the years, from church harvest events to getting together with other believers and creating carnival games for the kids. We put reasonable God-fearing limits on how we celebrate, though. We've never decorated in spooky or scary themes, keeping it harvest or fall related, we don't do scary or immodest costumes. My kids love coming up with the weirdest costume ideas every year and we've done everything from a lobster to a washing machine. We usually do take part of the night to give out candy to our neighbors t get to know them better. We've also had hotdogs and hot cocoa one year so neighbors would linger and we could get to know them.
Where in the Bible does it say to sacrifice the truth for a child's "joy"? I think I missed that one. The Bible tells us to be separate, and love NOT the things of this world? You cannot drink the cup of the LORD, and the cup of devils. You cannot partake of the LORD'S table and the table of devils {1 Cor 10:21}. The LORD condemns turning to the left or right from His commandments {Deut 5:32-33}. The LORD told the apostles to teach us to observe only His commandments {Matt 28:20}. The LORD commands us to separate from and not touch pagan religion {1 Cor 6:14-18}. We are commanded to grow our children up in the LORD. Jesus said, "But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea" {Matt 18:6}. Those are some serious warnings for Jesus himself. God-fearing limits??? This statement above has no fear of God, whatsoever.
This is a meat sacrificed to idols topic in my opinion. I think if the Bible didn’t include that it’s perfectly lawful to eat meat sacrificed to other “gods” because they aren’t actually gods, you would condemn such a thing as “touching pagan religion.” The Bible says nothing about having a fall themed party on October 31st. To treat that day like it belongs exclusively to the devil is ludicrous. Jesus is Lord over every day, and if you don’t feel comfortable doing anything on Halloween then do nothing. But I really think trying to force that on other believers is legalistic.
I came across the truth of halloween last year and was completely disgusted by it’s history and modern-purposes. I threw away all of our decor. I sat and prayed for a long time on whether or not I should take my 3 year old son out trick or treating. In the end, I did take him trick or treating and you know what? I got to meet the whole neighborhood. It was a joyful experience. So yes, we trick or treat. We get into harmless costumes. But everything else about halloween? Forget about it, we won’t be a part of it. Satanists can say trick or treating is devil worship, but that doesn’t make it true! Don’t listen to what they have to say. Don’t give them the time of day! Scripture makes it obvious that this is an area of Christian liberty. I agree with you Allie, thank you so much for speaking up on this! All the legalistic pharisees are coming out to play this year and I can’t stand it. This really isn’t a salvation issue, and the more time we argue over it, the more lives go by not saved by Christ. Preach the gospel to unbelievers and believers alike, but to spend too time arguing over things like this is foolish.
Amen!! I loved this Allie, and completely agree. What other day of the year do we have strangers and unbelievers coming to our door, it’s such a perfect opportunity to be a light to them and be hospitable and kind and share the good news 💕
I became a Christian late in life in 2017. It has been really challenging to tell my kids we are not celebrating this anymore when we stopped trick or treating they were really sad. If there are parties at school I let them participate at school in class but I don’t do anything outside and of that and slowly they have been compromising out of the Halloween phase this year my oldest son did not even wear a costume at school. I tell my kids it’s a celebration of evil things and I don’t want to open my heart to those things and they seem to understand and slowly as they get older the Halloween thing seems to not be so much of an issue.
My parents are Christians. My father a pastor for over 30 years. They had haunted houses, dressed up with us, played games with us, then had camp fires read scripture spoke about how we know God is bigger than any evil in the world and brought many to salvation during this time. Never limit what God can use for His glory. I have wonderful memories of church friends and myself having a fun non satanic Halloween. I believe many Christians approached the holiday in the same fashion and that is why we feel Halloween isn’t a big deal. I do understand as an adult there are many sinister things that are done because of this holiday. It’s really in the presentation to your children that is important.
I completely agree with your stance on this! When I was a kid, my parents would take me to a local nursing home where my grandma was, and we trick or treated to the residents who gave out candy at thier doors, wheelchairs and all. It really made their day handing out candy to little Cinderella.
I like your podcast! Would like to say though Halloween is definitely a time of the most child sacrificeing and the devil loves it ... My belief is that Christians should not celebrate it at all.
Agreed. Thank you all for standing in truth. Christians need to consider the foundations and seek what really happens on those days (and many other on satanic calendars) every year. We need to separate ourselves, expose, and intercede.
This is the first year I do not want to pass out candy....I feel conflicted because I love kids and don't want to be a party pooper but I can't get behind it. I feel convicted about it and especially with how demonic the candy commercials are now....I have no desire to support these companies that are part of a satanic agenda and I feel the same way as you.....I can't help but think of the horrible atrocities that take place on this day....I never celebrated it but now I dont even want to give out candy
"...the only thing I can do is host a podcast." You're wildly underestimating yourself. When stuff gets crazy, you'll rise to the occasion--Jesus will empower you.
October 31st also happens to be the anniversary of the Reformation. Some churches choose to have a celebration for the Reformation as a substitute for Halloween instead.
First plan on the Georgia Guidestones is for 93% of all people to be disappeared. (That includes blacks, whites, Mexicans, Asians, Christians...& Democrats aren't safe either.)
I am Missouri Synod Lutheran and a Boomer. I went to Lutheran school and on October 31st we celebrated Reformation Day with Chapel and then had the day off school. We did also celebrate Halloween as a fall celebration.. not the spooky stuff.
Correct, The European Reformation changed the course of the world when it seemed there was not hope whatsoever. I talk about this here ua-cam.com/video/JM1uQQ2T740/v-deo.html
1 Corinthians 10:21 21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons. Halloween is a satanic holy day in their calendar. Just think about it.
@@user-bn7dg2km2d Amen! Wicked pagan holidays. Glad to see there are more who stand on the Word of God with this issue. @@user-bn7dg2km2d The only place all of these men will be seen together is under a big Christmas tree. It's obviously part of the ecumenical church, the edict of tolerance.
We, as Christians, should not participate/celebrate any pagan holidays. It was hard at first to give up man made holidays like Christmas, Easter, Halloween etc. it’s all rotted in paganism. “God knows my heart” doesn’t cut it.
It’s a Romans 14 issue. Jesus celebrated in secular festivities and weddings. Because we shouldn’t even do anything for birthdays, 4th of July etc. we start looking like Jehovah witnesses
@@Justin_Case702 This. There's nothing wrong with celebrating secular holidays as long as you don't worship pagan Gods. Nvm the fact that its a blatant lie that Christmas is a pagan holiday, but whatever. People will believe what they want to believe.
This trick or treat aspect of all hallows eve was a druid practice. The druid priests would come to people's houses for a human sacrifice and if you gave up one of your family members preferably a child for sacrifice to pagan gods you'd be safe if not your family received a trick which would be a curse. So yeah, the question is... As a Christian is participating in something like that okay? Is a little bit of fecal matter in your water okay? ( Not to be crass) just couldn't think of a more fitting analogy.
My mom and dad always called it Reformation Day (since 1517 happened). Never Trick or Treated in my life: mom considered it barbaric to threaten your neighbors with a "trick" unless given a treat. So far we've come. I add, this was in the 1960's.
Barbaric is right! I don’t believe a true Christian who is obedient to God’s Word would celebrate these wicked pagan rituals, and they certainly would never deny the fact God condemns pagan idol worship or try to justify it by twisting a few scriptures here and there either.
As added info: just found out historically trick or treating started in the 30's evidently, and included some pretty rough behavior by youths toward those who didn't deliver a treat. I know my parents ran out of treats and so endured barsoap smeared on all the house screens, eggs smashed on the house and garage front, garbage strewn over the lawns and pet feces and paint smeared on the sidewalk up to the door. Not just lighthearted kiddie pranks, and hours of hard work to clean up. Maybe why it was considered barbaric.
@@chrystalgarza well, not everyone sees the occult elements of this holiday nor is everyone at the same spiritual maturity level. So, kind education is in order, along with a little Christian grace. You may personally adamantly hate the celebration of the dark side of Halloween and speak against the glorification of that stuff without alienating or judging the validity of another believer's faith. Love the brethren. :) Maturity is a journey.
Growing up we never celebrated. No decor. No costumes. But we did pass out treats to be neighborly and get to know our neighbors and we did attend harvest festivals at church. I would rather be at church on halloween night than at home in the dark. 😅 I take my own kids to harvest festivals and we visit apple and pumpkin farms. We make caramel apples and apple pie. We celebrate fall and the harvest season. Starting in September and ending in November with thanksgiving. The focus is on God and a thankful heart. There is no confusion about what we are celebrating.
As a Missouri Synod Lutheran and an older viewer, I can say that as the years have gone by the celebration of the Reformation has diminished, sadly. I think it’s because the leadership doesn’t want to offend. We do sing the Lutheran Anthem “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God” as least.
I do not like Halloween at all, but my children love the fun of getting candy and dressing up. So what we do is buy some bags of candy and let the kids "trick of treat" at our home on a day in October. We just call it harvest fun. My husband and I go to the front and back doors and let the kids run back and forth collecting candy from us. They LOVE it, and it is purely about fun and candy. I am not comfortable exposing them to the scary costumes and grossness that traditional trick or treating usually comes with. We do not give out candy on Oct 31st. I will not welcome scary costumes and gore at my front door. I respect those who do not have small children and want to use the day as an outreach, but I need to protect my children's hearts and minds.
On a light note: In 1979, after the birth of my first son, my husband and I were convicted that we shouldn't celebrate Halloween in any way, but we were relatively new Christians and had no teaching on it. We decided to "celebrate" All Saints Day, (which also happens to be All Hallow's Day - We knew this from the Catholic Church where we were raised.) I decorated with little angels (having no Saints handy! Lol ), we had candy for dessert, & then had a Christian music concert (which most likely included Keith Green, Phil Keaggy, & Honeytree!) It makes me smile when I think of the jumble it was! Over the years, we took a lot of flak from family & friends for 'being so weird' & not falling in line with the usual & customary view of Halloween!

Former cradle Catholic, and practicing Protestant, I get the same question all the time "why aren't you catholic?" I think your answer is the best one I've ever heard, "because I'm protestant."
I mean if it started off evil how can you fix it? Just like God doesn't try to fix our old sinful evil nature he gives us a new nature. You can't take an evil holiday with evil beginnings and evil intent and fix it, you have to do away with it.
You mean, how does God take a bad thing and use it for good (redeeming it, instead of just getting rid of it and doing something new)? Well, the greatest example-the devil who thought he was winning by killing God’s Son…. Which God had planned all along and used it to bring about salvation to all through Faith in Christ.
I grew up going to a Lutheran Church and I don’t ever remember my friends mom, who was our pastor, mentioning that the 31st was Reformation Day. That totally blew my mind hearing that for the first time at the age of 40+!!!
I recently saw on another UA-cam video, a former satanist asking this question, and it made me think. How many satanists or witches do you see participating in Easter egg hunts, just for the fun of it?
I actually know of several in my area that do, especially if it's at a Catholic or Seeker Friendly church. One of the benefits of having family that is deep into witchcraft, is knowing who they are and what they do.
I think Halloween is an occasion to bring happiness to a lot of children and I think this is important. Children dont understand the controversy of the holiday, and if we have raised them well as Christians then their faith and love in God will be unaffected. I think as a grown adult it would be strange to celebrate Halloween but for a child it is just harmless fun and we shouldnt deprive them of it. We should pray to God with our children and thank him for the joy and happiness he blesses us with. This is just my own brief opinion. Also, i would look forward to a video on the Reformation Allie, thank you for your videos
We’re opening ourselves up to being affected in the spirit when we partake in darkness. The devil masquerades as an angel of light. These are the world’s “holi-“days and if this is the church is satan’s *third* most important day to celebrate and partake in the festivities, a child of Light should not partake in it. Allowing them to participate in it and leaving them ignorant to the day is not the most spiritually fruitful thing I would suggest either.
Every year protestants have this debate because they’re so far removed from Christian culture and tradition. In 100 years you’re going to be debating whether or not to celebrate Christmas because secular society made the day about consumerism.
@End Censorship! 🤐 the point I was trying to make was that if the secularists corrupt a day with misplaced worship protestants accept their corruption because they have no tradition to point back at to say “no this day is not for demons but for praying for the dead”. All Hallows’ Eve is a Christian celebration. I was pointing to the fact that protestants have no idea about actual Christian culture so that one day they might be so disconnected that they accept the secular definition of Christ’s Mass like they have with All Hallows’ Eve. And celebrating consumerism instead of Christs birth seems pretty demonic but that’s just my opinion.
@@SamuralSabatoge YEEESSSS. Spiritually mature believers understand there's a way to be in the world and not of the world and be the Salt of the earth. Especially if we humble ourselves about our lack of ability to discern on our own and constantly turn to the provision and security from Jesus for guidance.
This is just blatantly wrong. Many Christians (my dad included) ALREADY have a big problem with Christmas and try arguing its a pagan secular holiday that Christians got dragged into. That being said, I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with buying gifts for your kids on Christmas. As long as you don't make Christmas about "Santa Claus" rather than Jesus Christ. As for All Hallow's Eve I'm not really aware, though I have heard the term "All Hallow's Eve" before. I'm just not sure anything about its origins. My big problem with Halloween is the focus on fear, demons, witches, monsters, etc.; I kinda feel like it'd be fine to let your kids participate as long as you stay away from that aspect. I don't even mind involving Santa with Christmas all that much as long as it doesn't override Jesus (despite personally growing up in a home where my family never celebrated Halloween and we never did anything involving Santa Claus).
Remember it can be called whatever you want ... Halloween, fall harvest, candy night... It's still a demonic night for conjuring up evil spirits. It's celebration of fear!
So funny how Christians often try and cherrypick aspects of worldly pagan festivals to feel okay about celebrating it. 🤣🤣 I wonder if Halloween didn’t involve any candy Christians would still be trying to find reasons to celebrate it
Have you ever seen parents letting their kids sitting on Santa's lap making a wish for a gift? The origin of the practice is child sacrifice to Moloch outside of the walls of Jerusalem.
My Lutheran church is having a big reformation celebration for church this Sunday. Afterward we are having a trunk or treat and fall harvest event. I grew up attending Lutheran schools and can recite the story of Martin Luther and the reformation like the back of my hand 😁 My church is very proud to celebrate the reformation.
I like to use this opportunity to pass out to trick or treaters with gospel tracks. When, I was a little kid trick or treating somebody gave me a "little Bible" and it it told me the plan of Salvation. That really touched me.
I would love an episode on the Reformation! We have a little Reformation day party with our kids, we study it all month leading up to it. It’s become such a special part of our family “traditions”.
Halloween is the witches High Sabbath day of the year! Witches like it when Christians celebrate Halloween🤔. If ur a Christian and don't mind playing on both sides of the fence, then celebrate it. However, you CAN'T walk with Yeshua/Jesus and hold hands with the devil👿....🙏😺
2 Corinthians 6:14 “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” That being said Halloween is a demonic holiday. Believers shouldn't be partaking whatsoever in this demonic ceremony. A former witch testified to how they delighted in seeing Christians dressing up. As for the candy with a gospel message, that's like putting a bunch of grapes with the gospel on an alter of Buddha at a nail salon. Christians are not in the mission of rehabbing demonic ceremonies. The color run is a celebration of Holi. Should Christians call it Noahic covenant run and dress up and partake in it as well. Halloween is a give me. Some other Holidays can be Grey are but cmon.

At the end of the day, it’s the Holy Spirits job to convict us of righteousness. There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. Would I still be saved if I celebrate Halloween? Yes. But do I want to celebrate a holiday that is the biggest day of the year for satan worship and luciferians? No. We celebrate “Light up the Night” on the 31st instead where we pray, play games, wear fun jammies and eat bbq/treats. We decorate the house with white lights everywhere for fun. Be the light however God is calling you to. But remember, whatever you do, do it unto the Lord. All of these holidays came from pagan traditions. With Halloween, I felt convicted not to participate and to not open myself up to demonic attack. But I don’t condemn others who celebrate; however I worry about them grieving their spirit or opening themselves up to demonic attack. For Christmas, we don’t talk about Santa or go crazy on gifts, but we celebrate the birth of our Lord even if the 25th of December wasn’t His actual birthday. We have freedom in Christ. Whatever you do, do it UNTO THE LORD.
FREEDOM in Christ! Amen! We expose the deeds of darkness, but we are not to condemn. Holy Spirit WILL guide God’s people into all truth. We obey or reject His convictions or error. I love your testimony, and I truly appreciate this word. Praise Yeshua.
John 16:8 says and when he comes he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness and judgement. That's what that whole verse says not just righteousness sin also and judgement.
@@ninafredericks4040 amen. Concerning sin, because we (humanity) didn’t believe Jesus while He was on this earth, concerning righteousness, because He went to the Father and we all not see Him until the appointed time of His return (He showed and told us the way of righteous living, Holy Spirit guides and sanctifies us), and concerning judgment, because the god of this world has already been judged.
I went to a small Christian college, and one of our Bible professors would dress up as Martin Luther every October 31st. Many of us would gather to watch him nail the Ninety-five Theses to his office door, briefly talk about it, and then we would sing "A Mighty Fortress is our God". :) Good memories.
Personally, I would say it’s better to shield one’s child from Halloween considering dressing up on Halloween can plant a seed that will later bloom in their adulthood and potentially lead them to anime expo, comic con, horror movies, adult Halloween parties, etc.
Lots of respect for you. You are classy, intelligent and most of all a Christian. Much like my best friend and wife. Strong and smart Christian woman rock! 👍 keep up the good work.
Deuteronomy 12:1“These are the statutes and judgments which you shall be careful to observe in the land which the Lord God of your fathers is giving you to possess, all the days that you live on the earth. 2 You shall utterly destroy all the places where the nations which you shall dispossess served their gods, on the high mountains and on the hills and under every green tree. 3 And you shall destroy their altars, break their sacred pillars, and burn their wooden images with fire; you shall cut down the carved images of their gods and destroy their names from that place. 4 You shall not worship the Lord your God with such things. 5 “But you shall seek the place where the Lord your God chooses, out of all your tribes, to put His name for His dwelling place; and there you shall go." God redeems _people;_ He doesn't want us to try to redeem pagan _practices._ All pagan practices and places are to be "destroyed" and we are to worship God in a "different place" with different practices.
That was a great comment, I'll just add to this: We are commanded not to keep their customs, not to enquire about how they worship their gods or learn their heathen ways! We are to worship God in spirit and in truth. “Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the LORD your God.”
I spoke to my kids about it and explained how it was celebrating death as well as violence. Since they were in kindergarten they never celebrated it and they never went to school on that day! They never missed it! The bible says we should not conform to the Patterns of this world! It's very simple but many christians want to do the things of the world and therefore they try to sanctify something that is blantlenly dark and unGodly. On the other hand there is nothing wrong with celebrating the harvest because it is because of God that we have been sustained because of the harvest! There is a difference! We are in this world but do not belong to this world. Some Christians need to wake up...with all do respect... I love my brothers and sisters in the faith! Thanks Allie...
There's an old saying in the church that says, "Don't be too heavenly minded to do any earthly good." With that being said, if you're not going to celebrate Halloween in any way, then you should not be celebrating Christmas in any way as it is also a pagan holiday that was not founded on Christ in any way. Personally, I see both sides of the argument and if you're worshipping satan with Halloween or practice witchcraft or whatever then you're obviously not saved anyways but for those that are just having fun playing dressup with their children and they give thanks to the LORD for everything then it's not a big deal. It's all about the heart and intent. What will Christ say about us celebrating Christmas? We'll say, "But LORD we did it unto you. We were not celebrating the original meaning of the holiday." Will he be so unmerciful that he judges us anyway? Just lighten up people. This type of stuff is what pushes people away from the church
I think that's slightly judgemental to tell people who have God-given convictions to lighten up. We should not go against that. I think this is a fine line of Christian freedom and convictions. However we do not have the freedom to run back to the darkness we were saved from. At least as christians we can have patience and understanding of our brothers and sisters without making minimizing statements about each other. So for example my family and I don't celebrate Halloween in any way but I can't 100%say someone who is celebrating it in an "innocent" way is sinning. And I wish others wouldnt tell me to lighten up about my decision and freedom not to celebrate it. I would hope others would see there's a different light in me that would draw them to Christ instead of pushing them away but if I am pushing someone away from the church I would assume it would be due to their own feeling of conviction from the Holy Spirit and that they are looking for someone to tell them what they want to hear.... since I am doing what I believe the Lord wants me to do (or abstaining in this case).
What about when Jesus said that many will say to me in that day Lord, Lord did we not do this in your name and that in your name? And he will say I never knew you depart from me ye workers of iniquity?
It’s that exact statement you made about also not celebrating Christmas that led me and my family on a journey of quitting the church holidays and worldly holidays and going back to what the Bible actually teaches. We are now Torah Observant Christians who are saved by grace through the sacrifice of Yeshua and we obey His Torah as a response to that salvation. I would encourage everyone reading this comment to ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom and discernment about these days and what does the Lord really require of His people? Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 Shalom.
I use Halloween as an excuse to dress up as a cat or bat on a normal work day 😂. In seriousness, bats and black cats need a voice, especially when culture plays into them being bad. I like to use Halloween to spread awareness for them too.
I was living in darkness and sin for many years through college, living as a witch and practicing witchcraft, and I was saved by Jesus. Halloween for a long time was Samhain for me, which is a very occult "holiday" and as such, I will never celebrate it again or allow my family to celebrate it because it's so connected and I would argue inextricable from the occult, which is sinful. It opens the door to sin as well, which I want to avoid at all costs. There's nothing wrong with eating candy or dressing up, but it's the intention behind it. I ate a lot of candy this last week, but I didn't do so to celebrate Halloween, I did it because I have a massive sweet tooth and candy was on sale at the store so I took advantage of that. Remember Genesis 3:1 "Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made." The devil is crafty and smart and he sneaks in temptation in seemingly harmless things. We need to be watchful and mindful of where he is possibly making inroads in our lives, and maybe you think Halloween is harmless, but it opens that door to so much worse, and that's a chance I'm never taking again
So funny Allie! You are a very gifted podcaster for sure. Probably my favorite. If there is a calamity, I hope your voice, wisdom, and unabashed honesty are never diminished. It is your faithfulness to God that shines through that makes you a person with integrity and for me RELATABLE 😉.
I find it fascinating how we pick and choose holidays that are good and quote on quote evil. If Halloween is evil what is Christmas? Everything down to the date, tree, and stockings pulls from pagan tradition in celebration of Baphomet. Just some food for thought. And maybe it's how we place intentions not the holidays we celebrate.
There is a spiritual world.. which people don’t see so they don’t think anything happens during Halloween. Rituals and human sacrifices are done during this night. The founder of the satanic church said “thank you for letting your kids celebrate the devil once a year”. An ex witch who is now in Gods word doesn’t celebrate Halloween because they know the things that go on during these nights. How else would the devil get kids involved if not to make it fun ? We see this with cartoons too.

I feel crazy for saying this but whenever I allow my morbid curiosity to win and watch/view/consume content that’s not good like goths, accidents, deaths, scary things, satanic imagery appearing, etc or even allowing myself to think of those things, I start to feel like there’s evil entities lurking around my apartment. Waiting in the darkness for me to catch a glimpse of them, or leave my bedroom and enter the main living space. I have heard my grandma (who’s still alive but lives 1.5 hours away from me) say my name while I was outside late at night coming home from work. I stopped entertaining even the seemingly harmless stuff, got away from the occult stuff and just went back to Jesus and God. Reminding myself that they love me and that God is the most powerful being to ever exist and he will defeat all evil. After only a short time of consciously doing this as well as praying I wasn’t scared of my apartment at night anymore and didn’t worry. But as soon as I start slipping up the subtle creepy feelings pop up on occasion. Lately I’ve been extremely bad and let my curiosity take over and tonight I’m regretting it. I’m praying hard tonight and trying to stay calm and not even try to acknowledge the negative imagery and fears that are coming up. I’m definitely not participating any more than I already am in Halloween which is very subtle and nothing satanic. Prayers would be greatly appreciated🙏❤️
Growing up in a Assembly of God church and know learning more about the origin of October 31st & what has happened, I stopped celebrating Halloween over all & fine with it. I do admit what my church taught like it was satan’s birthday is not true at all but I do see how there is a lot of evil things celebrated that day & I don’t want to be involved in the darkness that it celebrates. I do admit that were some teachings that were very stirct that the AG church taught that stuck with me as I went to a Christian University & felt very uncomfortable with like seeing the University I attend throw a Harvest Party but decorating it Halloween with scary things involved. I did dress up only 1 time but nothing scary or provocative but did felt the Holy Spirit convicting me not to celebrate it. Having Grace for brothers & sisters that celebrate it was something the Lord has been teaching me over the years and still today. I do acknowledge it exists but not celebrate it & see it as a normal day & nothing special & I’ve been fine with it. Atmy old home church we do a Harvest party no dressing up & fun games for the kids & now attending a non-denominational church I’m glad that the Pastor is not celebrating halloween either knowing it centers around fear. I’m glad he doesn’t put people down if their kids show up dressed up. I do want to give him a fun fact that it is also Reformation Day which I’m totally down to celebrate & told my family about it though we’re not Protestants
We dont do any gory or ghoulish decor. Just simple whole pumpkins which I use to decorate my patio as a symbol of fall harvest. And we dont go trick or treating and no scary costumes for my kids. But, its tough to not allow them to participate at all in their school. So I make sure I send them in non-scary costumes, and they trick or treat in their own class because of the covid restrictions!

In regards to Halloween I think we should apply what your guest Doreen Virtue said about yoga: If it’s rooted in paganism it doesn’t matter if we slap the veneer of Christianity on top of it.
Love the idea of celebrating the Reformation!! If we do this many catholics will begin to understand the differences between catholic christians and reformed christians. This can open doors to salvation for some... I think....who knows?
Watching this for the first time as my views on this day have changed since becoming a Christian recently. I get that the non scary/gory costumes are harmless but you can’t really avoid your kids being around other kids or peoples houses in the neighborhood that do celebrate the blood and the horror side. I almost don’t even want to pass out candy because it feels like I’m saying “ I support this holiday”. I don’t know 🤷🏻♀️ it’s a tough call! I definitely still celebrate the autumn 🍂 season.
We need to pray over our neighborhoods, cities, and country this October and always. There are a lot of dark and wicked things happening behind closed doors, but it's no match for our prayers or our Heavenly Father. Pastor John Ramirez, ex-satanist, talks of how he and other witches were given assignments to use remote viewing/psychic practices to place curses upon neighborhoods, but he realized they could not come near the Christian households who were in prayer due to the power of our Lord Jesus Christ. Keep this in mind and continuously pray over your homes and ask for Him to send legions of angels to protect the radius. All glory to God!
We used to celebrate Halloween but were convicted of it and haven't turned back. If you don't think it's a big deal to celebrate it look up videos of former witches now Christians and learn from them what Halloween is all about. Also, it's a "holiday" that will leave you feeling empty because there's no good that can come from celebrating darkness.
We celebrate Reformation Day and I explain to the kids why we do not do the other. How we do Reformation Day is we look at one of the reformers and eat food they would have eaten in their time.
I was raised in a Christian home. We went to church multiple days a week. However, we allowed Halloween. I was never a fan. I went astray for a couple of years into the new age not even knowing what I was doing. I didn't develop spiritual discernment. Now as a mom, I'm doing my very best to teach my children to have spiritual eyes and sharp discernment to be able to look at something and know if it is pleasing to our Heavenly Father or not. I think if Christians are going to do anything on Halloween, it should be in a fall or harvest festival church type setting where they can invite their friends to share the gospel. If it looks dark, if it doesn't look like something of the Lord, then it isn't.
@@nparksntx exactly because that's the spirit of this 'holiday'. The spirit of Samhain. We can't white wash things of the devil and give it to God. When most Christian churches don't even know the depths of the holy feasts, we shouldn't even be wasting our time with Halloween.
@@nparksntx and honestly, churches could do fall festival type gatherings because they're are two Holy Feast days in the fall where Halloween doesn't even have to be a part of it and yet here we Christians are.... doing Halloween. Why?

I enjoyed this episode as I do most. I believe there’d be a mass separation of Christians from the world’s holi-days if they realized children, adults, and animals are all sacrificed in blood and sexually all throughout the year, under our noses in darkness. They start abductions October 13 up through the 30th. Daily sacrifices are already going on as we speak. We can not have part in both the table of the Lord and the table of demons. Brothers and sisters, please stop feeding the flesh and having “fun” and sow into the Spirit and pray!! Innocent lives are being taken and too any are gratifying their own desires. We do not need to condemn those who are not yet aware, however once what was dark is made visible, it becomes a light. May we all see and choose God’s desire over our own.
How we see Christ and Culture pretty much predicts our response to the observation of Halloween. The Church has responded to pagan holidays in different ways depending on the observance. I used to teach the pagan origin and also the Christian redemption of the Holiday.
What would you (and the #CultishPodcast guys, if you can have them on again??) advise for reclaiming All Saints Day? It would be fantastic to hear a talk w/ you, Cultish, and someone like John Ramirez, about what Christians can be doing to celebrate good, God-honoring things, and not participate in darkness.

Amen; as another person that the Lord has saved from darkness and the occult; I concur with your comment.
I get it but there is a time and season for everything as the Bible says...I just completely stay out of it!
@@elizabethrodriguez7363 Well said; I didn't think of that.
Most Christians dont
But narrow is the gate and constricted is the way that leads to life, and few are those who find it. Matt 7:14
It’s not easy to leave your kids out of what the world is doing but we must be the examples of those who live a life constricted according to His word and ways.

Exactly
Compare it to Easter and Christmas. We turned those into something that IS about God and still do in spite of our culture continuing to make it about Bunnies and Santa. We can do the same with Halloween/All Hallows day/Reformation day. But it's still easier to make a list for everyone than allow personal convictions to take place.
@@RachelDee show me ONE verse that says we can add to or take away from God's Word??? I'll wait... You can't Christianize pagan customs and actually think you are pleasing God.
Finally some common sense
“Why aren’t I Catholic?”
Because I never heard the Gospel in 19 years of being born and raised Roman Catholic.
Thank you for calling it Reformation Day. :)
I am firmly in the don't participate camp but I don't despise those who feel differently.
2 Corinth 6:14-18. Come out from among them. Christmas, Easter, Halloween. All the same.
@@chrystalgarza the fear of GOD is far from them
This is a meat sacrificed to idols topic in my opinion.
1 Corinthians 8 is the reference for dealing with food sacrificed to idols. *
Thanks!
I completely agree, it's sad to see so many Christians in the comments say that it's ok when it really isn't
Child sacrificing?? What culture does that?

October 31st also happens to be the anniversary of the Reformation. Some churches choose to have a celebration for the Reformation as a substitute for Halloween instead.
First plan on the Georgia Guidestones is for 93% of all people to be disappeared. (That includes blacks, whites, Mexicans, Asians, Christians...& Democrats aren't safe either.)
Yeah, dressing up like Luther, Tetsel, the Pope...
I am Missouri Synod Lutheran and a Boomer. I went to Lutheran school and on October 31st we celebrated Reformation Day with Chapel and then had the day off school. We did also celebrate Halloween as a fall celebration.. not the spooky stuff.

The only place all of these men will be seen together is under a big Christmas tree.
Ally, AMEN!
💯💯💯. Especially with all the info accessible to using the internet why be ignored these facts. People love their sin
My mom and dad always called it Reformation Day (since 1517 happened). Never Trick or Treated in my life: mom considered it barbaric to threaten your neighbors with a "trick" unless given a treat. So far we've come. I add, this was in the 1960's.
Barbaric lol no one sees it as such. It's become like a noise lol treacortree is what I hear. But I don't celebrates that crap
Please tell me what's the difference in a church hosting a trunk or treat. Same thing, kids dress up and get candy. Read Romans 14.
Consider that "usual and customary view" that happens to be Biblical is far better than compromise with the world.
I still have my Honeytree piano music!
Be set apart from the dark/The World. Have no part of things that border on evil.

Hello! Could you share a link to photos of your mom’s signs? I’d like to share them with my church and have some made for this coming year. Thank you!
Nah bro, Jesus wouldn't want us celebrating Halloween, how is that bringing him honor? How is that glorifying God? It isn't

That being said Halloween is a demonic holiday.

As a Christian I have never celebrated Halloween. The celebration is anathema to Christianity.

5 “But you shall seek the place where the Lord your God chooses, out of all your tribes, to put His name for His dwelling place; and there you shall go."
God redeems _people;_ He doesn't want us to try to redeem pagan _practices._ All pagan practices and places are to be "destroyed" and we are to worship God in a "different place" with different practices.
I would SO love to hear about your reformation day celebrations-and how that played out for you guys!
There's an old saying in the church that says, "Don't be too heavenly minded to do any earthly good."
With that being said, if you're not going to celebrate Halloween in any way, then you should not be celebrating Christmas in any way as it is also a pagan holiday that was not founded on Christ in any way.
We were not celebrating the original meaning of the holiday."
Will he be so unmerciful that he judges us anyway?
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
Shalom.
Totally on board with a celebrated Reformation Day!!! 🙋🏻♀️✝️

The bible doesn't talk about Halloween. What we need is a LIVING PROPHET to tell us whether Halloween is good or not

There is a local Catholic Church here that I went to a funeral at and when we went in to their fellowship hall and it was decorated with witches, and all kinds of evil nasty things, I walked right back out the door, I was disgusted
That seems put of character for Catholic church
I give out candy with Bible tracts attached!✝️🍭💜
That is a great idea. Thanks.

You’re still partaking in the action and celebration of Halloween
@@TheBestLife2184 who said those choices were safe? Lmao
I didn’t even know this was an issue till you brought it up Allie. In any case, Happy Halloween! 👻

Should it not be HOW does God view Halloween? 🤔 why is it always our view towards things and not how God views things?
We used to celebrate Halloween but were convicted of it and haven't turned back. If you don't think it's a big deal to celebrate it look up videos of former witches now Christians and learn from them what Halloween is all about. Also, it's a "holiday" that will leave you feeling empty because there's no good that can come from celebrating darkness.
I grew up trick or treating and never felt empty. It was a lot of fond memories actually. As an adult I don’t care for it.
Halloween actually has very different origins than people think.
Churches seem to do trunk or treat where I am but neighborhood kids show up dressed up as serial killers still.
Why?
@@rebeccatexaschick7621 what is the spirit of Samhain?
In reference to the second view, if I dressed up as Captain America like I did when I was 11, am I “worshiping Satan” and glorying death and despair?
Still, if the world can't see you different than the world then why should they consider conversion? Unless your heart is still sold out to the world and you don't care about other's getting saved, then you do what GOD says : Matt 28:19-20.
@@mikedickison244 I’ll take that as “yes”.
@@lieutenantflyboy dress up like Spiderman any of 364 days of the year. . eccentric and maybe silly. Dress up like Spiderman and go door to door trick or treating on October 31 where you are known and if you are born again, you lose any chance to be a godly witness to an unsaved world.
I realize you said Captain America. Doesn't matter which super hero. It's like going surfing to a beach and when you arrive it's closed due to great white sharks. Can you surf? Certainly. Should you surf anyway? Probably not. Your choice.
Jesus said there were two great commandments. Love GOD with all your heart , soul, mind and strength. The second was to love your neighbor as yourself. Matt 22:37-39
If you claim to be a Christian and can't find it within you to care for your neighbor enough to want them saved, then go ahead and dress as Santa, Easter bunny and captain America and hand out bags of candy. It's all the same. Such as you have, give to them. Acts 3:1-16.
My church does celebrate Reformation Day! We have food and fireworks after an evening service :)
Its just a fun day.
Yay! I am one of the Relatable listeners who got some Good Ranchers! The first time I ordered it got lost but eventually got to me. The steaks were not cold though!! Had to throw them away!
