I discovered him 2017 when S.O.S. Went viral. I’m still listening to him over and over every day. I also flew from U.K. to his concert in Latvia, and I’m 75 year old lady. Dimash has no morals. He lets you listen to him once and knows he has got you trapped forever. But I’m happy to be caged by him.

Dimash didn’t know his dad was there and said in an interview that he wouldn’t have been so cheeky, ha ha. So sweet. Don’t worry about him coming second in the comp. he gained international recognition so was a winner really.

Oh, no... he can still go higher and you should do his Vocalize from Kiev..... oh my goodness. It is absolutely incredible. Yes, I went to his New York concert and it was the most amazing experience you can imagine. Dimash can control the audience. There were times when there was silence because he expected it. There were times we were in tears, because Dimash was, times we were dancing... because Dimash was. We sang in English, Mandarin, French, Russian and even Kazakh to the best of our ability because it makes him happy. The entire concert is on his you tube page. He was just beautiful inside and out.

So far you've heard neither the bottom of his range nor the top. The thing is, as you become more familiar with his voice, you learn that he can choose a song that uses only two octaves of any of his registers (baritone, tenor, alto, soprano), and what he can do using only that register is beautiful, flawless and masterful.
These are NOT whistle notes, these are proper soprano range notes. Whistle is produced in a different way and sound like a dog whistle. Check out the video for Unforgettable Day , Gakku version.

No, Dimash did not win the I am Singer Competition; but he achieved something much greater... Dimash won the hearts of Millions of Fans (Dears) Around the World. After over three years of being a Dimash fan, I continue to be amazed and entertained by his ever expanding skill-set as a vocalist, composer and performer.
I love the playfulness of Dimash’s performance here, and the way he flirts with the audience with his eyes and smile. It’s too bad you didn’t have the extended video showing the moment that Dimash sees his father is there, which he hadn’t known before. He literally stops in mid-thank you and this joyous smile simply lights up his face. It’s one of the most touching moments ever! When he finishes he goes straight to his dad and gives him a huge hug! Greetings from Florida. BTW, all the performers in Singer 2017 were very good!
His dad came to China to surprise him. He was homesick and was shocked and afterward asked his dad if he did well, he did not win. He had 13 songs to this competition. He does whistle notes but the best one is Unforgettable Day at Gakuu. It’s off the piano

Hi, I think everyone in the audience knew about the song, as the original singer, Vitas, went higher only one time but Dimash went three times higher. That's why the guy said " Will he go higher" after the first change.😊😊😊😊 BTW why don't you check his concerts from his official UA-cam channel, I recommend the New York City concert from his channel. And nope, this is not his highest note 😀😀😀

You are so much fun to watch.. The Singer performances are amazing and I thought many times during 2017 and into 2018, that I wanted to be in the audience.. While watching Dimash reaction videos, I read in the comments that he was performing in London.. After a year of following his performances on UA-cam, I was beside myself with excitement... Every second of his O2 concert was breathtaking, but his vocalisation to the start of Autumn Strong was new and blew me away.. I could see his mum, Svetlana looking at him from the balcony above me.. I have never known an artists family before, let alone felt their love and respect for each other... I left that concert with love in every cell in my body even in my soul.. My next gift from the Dear's family was a complete video of the concert.. Autumn Strong has its own video which takes me back to having him perform only meters away... PRICELESS.. I am now looking forward to seeing him again in Prague, March 2021.. You will enjoy every performance that he does in whichever order you enjoy them.. Can't take your eyes off him, exactly‼️ And that is what is so frustrating about big stadium concerts, not everyone can get close enough. Like you I was spellbound and within days of discovering Dimash I decided I simply had to go to a concert, which I did. 3 hours flew like 3 minutes it felt unreal. It was total magic.🔮🌎🇺🇲 I flew from NZ to NY🌏🇳🇿 I'm 70

"The amount of swagger!" "He doesn't waste a single moment on stage" - your comments are spot on. I think the high operatic notes are in line with the lyrics about painful memories all gathered tonight and about weeping winds. However, this is probably his only performance, where he has chosen not to follow the mood of the lyrics, but to have fun and to entertain the audience with the acrobatic vocals.
I haven't been to his concerts, but there are whole concerts on his channel and on fan channels. They are a lot of pleasure and fun to watch.
These are still not his whistle notes. His whistles are in the 7th octave (like in Diva Dance+Drunken Concubine in duet with Li Yugang) and in the 8th octave (D8 in "Unforgettable day", Gakku concert).
Dimash not only did not follow the lyrics of the original song, but he also changed one letter in two words, thereby completely changing the meaning of this song. Instead of "pain" (боли), he used the word "gods" (боги), and instead of "ask" (просить), he used the word "forgive" (простить). Thus, now this song has become with an even deeper existential meaning: we see not just a person suffering from loneliness, but a person who built a house and seeks loneliness at the edge of the Universe, where the paths of the Gods pass. He is waiting for them and wants to ask them questions gnawing at him about the meaning of being. The high notes of Dimash are now not just the howling of the wind, but the inhuman voice of incomprehensible creatures floating past a lonely house, standing at the intersection of star paths.

Димаш не только не стал следовать лирике оригинальной песни, но он также изменил по одной букве в двух словах, тем самым полностью изменив смысл этой песни. The other competitors knew Dimash was not allowed to win, because being a foreigner he could not, according to the rules. Next year they changed the rules.🙃 The original song by Russian Vitas was already popular in China, so Dimash wanted to surprise them with a challenging and playful approach. Good of you to notice the lyrics were contradictory to his presentation. Vitas was not amused that Dimash outdid his key changes by doing 2 extra. He forbade Dimash to perform it ever again. Dimash did nit kniw his dad was paying a surprise visit. He later said he would have been less cheeky had he known. There is footage of father and son being reunited shortly after the performance. So touching. D. asked two times if he had done well..🙃

Always keep a close eye on Dimash's hands when he sings. You will soon notice that they look like a Maestro directing an orchestra but in this case, his voice and sometimes, his fingers seem to be visual representation of what his vocal cords are doing. .
I haven't been to a concert... yet but from what I hear (and see), people who see him live can no longer be satisfied with his videos and audios. And they keep talkiing about the next concert... and the next... every concert he has, people fly in from all over. They say watching him sing live was like a transcendental experience... literally out-of-body. One friend told me that Dimash's voice seemed to surround her, engulf her and she was unable to take her eyes off him the whole time. And she didn't want to go home.
I have seen a few concerts where the dears stayed on in the hall singing his songs and calling his name. I have even seen one clip where the security ppl shouted at the dears, asking them to go home. LOL. And what's more, Dimash himself doesn't seem to want to leave the stage. In one concert in China, the dancers had to literally pull him offstage. In another, he kept singing into his mic even though he was already walking backstage... right until they cut the mic feed.
This man is unbelievable, once in a century, once in an epoch even! and sooo humble. I think it took him a long time to find his listeners, those who appreciate his style of singing... and when he did, it just exploded from there and he shows his appreciation for this love so much.

This song was originally done by Russian singer, Vitas. The original had just 1 octave increase. Dimash added 2 more. Vitas has prohibited Dimash from performing this song in public. He can go even higher than that. His highest note is from Unforgettable Day Gakku and his longest held note is from Sinful Passion. Both will leave you most likely falling off of your chair. If you want to listen to him really duet with himself then listen to Ogni Pietra/Olimpico. It was written specifically for Dimash by Igor Krutoy, a famous Russian composer. You've been warned.....lol

I would LOVE to see Dimash in concert live!!! That would be SO AWESOME!!! He did one big well received first U.S. concert in NY late last year around December and I was out of the Country and couldn’t go!!! He was so humble and so grateful and said it was his dream come true to be in the U.S. holding a concert and it appeared to be such an awesome array of people attending! So - whatcha going to listen to next??? I suggest checking out his debut video ‘KNOW’ or Bastau DIVA DANCE performance... it’s short but OMG - he sang it to perfection mid concert! 😱🔥🔥🔥

Oh, no, you have NOT heard the upper range of his voice yet. So... gently... he sang a D8 at the Gakku concert in a song he had composed when he was 17 years old: Unforgettable Day. That note is beyond the piano keyboard...

Then you have to check him out in his Tribute to Michael Jackson...who was his idol along with his song "Give Me "Your" Love"...big suprise there!!! Tre, you have quickly become my favorite reactor of all time, and I listen to a lot. First, when you intro or pause the video, it feels like you are talking directly to me, you make it so personal. Second, your understanding of Dimash's skills is so far above most, it adds to whatever you say. Now, if you are ready to bawl your eyes out, please react to Autumn Strong, also in The Singer version, where he sings a Chinese song, in Chinese, to a Chinese audience of a song so powerful, so emotive, and so heart-wrenching, I cry every time I hear it and I've heard it at least 50 times. Excellent reaction! Dimash did not know his Dad was in the audience...his Dad had flown in to surprise Dimash. If you watch the longer version you'll see the moment Dimash sees his Dad as Dimash is thanking everyone. Very special moment. No love lost in that family!
One last comment...if you get the chance to watch any of Dimash's full concerts, look at the reactions of the audiences (all races, nationalities, genders, and religions) to his performances. They are all affected by Dimash in the same way we're affected by these videos. There is just something about him (voice and stage presence) that tugs at your emotions and captures your full attention. He is truly the best singer/performer in the world and we're lucky to be alive to witness him.

I was at Dimash's first solo US concert Dec 10, 2019 in NY. It's difficult to explain what I experienced. Seeing Dimash perform live is a full body experience. His voice moved through me to the core of my being. I still find it hard to believe that the sounds I heard came out of him. Sometimes it felt like electric current. Most of the time I was transfixed. I felt like a teenager again, (I'm 66).

Dimash’s highest that we know of is D8; and that seemed easy for him... what can he do when we’re not watching? Most of the audience knew this song, it is a popular one by Vitas. But Vitas only goes up one octave at the end, and Dimash goes up 3 times. Also, Vitas sings it in a very different style. Yes, Dad was there, but Dimash didn’t know. Notice at the end, when he is thanking the orchestra, all of a sudden he sees his Dad and acknowledges him with a slight nod. Once he gets off the stage, he jumps in his Dad’s arms, really cute and touching.
Hey. I was at two of his concerts. I am incredibly sorry that I was only at two of his concerts. I would like to be at everyone! His concerts are great shows, but I haven't seen anything or anyone but him. It is impossible to take your eyes off him. He is beautiful. He is all perfect. The tears just flowed on their own. From admiration, from the inability to endure this perfection. A three-hour concert flies by instantly, and you immediately dream of plunging into this magic again ...

This is not at all the end of Dimash`s range. There is a lot you can looking forward to. At least he didn`t win, because of antiquated rules, but he is the winner in the public opinion and immediately got a star in China.

He won this episode. He finished the competition second after 14 performances. The first place went to Sandy Lam an extremely popular singer from Hong Kong who is in the business since decades. She is the lady saying "Wow!" at the end. There is an extended version of this clip showing her how she is trying to reproduce Dimash's highest note with difficulty and saying that these notes are hard to sing even for a girl with lots of training.

He sold out his first solo concert in America in New York at Staples Center on December 10th, 2019 to an audience of over 18,000 Dears who traveled from over 60 different countries and 48 of the 50 States here in America! As for his training, his parents are in the music business with his mother being a soprano opera singer. At the age of five they realized that Dimash had perfect pitch and began his classical training. Later he wanted to also sing contemporary and pop so he began training for those as well. He was a Wunderkind as a child and he has only gotten better.
