You can tell the father was absolutely broken by the loss of his daughter. The poem at the end when he said Damn you, it struck me with empathy and grief and anger for what happened to that little girl.
I felt that deep in my soul. Imagine being a father and not being able to save your little girl from this👹!🥺
You can tell if someone is absolutely broken by the loss, even if they fake it.
we'll I guess so.....
@@liukang3545 That's right, if they fake it, then theyre not broken, but you will think that they are.
I'm a mother of a child that was abducted. And I can say it damages your soul. My child was found alive but extremely sick and abused .. 13 years later we are still recovering ❤️🩹
I used to go bicycling by myself when I was kid all the time to the local parks. I must had been one ugly kid because nobody ever approached me. But today, nowadays, I won't even go 5-10 feet without making sure my child is safe. We live in a crazy world that is getting more crazed. Stay safe, keep an eye on your children at all times.
True dat. Aside from cameras outside my house, I don't let my 5 year old daughter play outside by herself. Even though we live in a quiet neighborhood where everyone knows everyone and their ancestors, I don't feel comfortable letting my child out of my sight. I have watched too many of these criminal documentaries.
Well it was a different time back then
I too watch my kid like a hawk
Lack of worship and teaching of love, and pollution (water running through lead pipes, smoke and chemicals, fake foods full of pesticides)
💯💯
I was 9 in 1999 and my brother was 6. We played outside for years but always stuck by eachother. We were literally outside from sunrise to sunset. My mom constantly watched through the window though. We lived in an apartment complex too and had 2 guys pull up next to us one day in a van asking us to get it. We both ran home. It was freaking scary.. I'll never forget it. This makes me so sad 😞 she shouldn't have been alone at all. Rip angel.
@ Janet…. I was playing with a friend back in the early 80’s, when I was around the same age, when a CREEPY guy approached us and asked if we could get in his car to help him find his dog. My instinct was to run. I have NO doubt my life would have been in grave danger if I hadn’t.

I wish people would stop saying “it was different time”. There’s a zillion cases of kids getting kidnapped during these times; people were and still are just unconcerned and subconsciously think nothing bad is going to happen to them. There was probably actually MORE crime back then because there wasn’t as much technology available for perps to get caught.
There also wasn't internet and most stories never made it past local news.
There statistically was more crime back then.
But it is true. Times were different. None of those people were bad parents for not watching their children more closely because it was the norm to allow your children to roam free unsupervised. We judge them now with the privilege of hindsight
💯
I just looked up statistics. Your right.
So sad. He had to be a really sick man to have thoughts of kidnapping & killing an innocent child. The audio & forensic analysis were very accurately matched & the detectives did a good job in a timely manner solving the case. The thought of it being a neighbor someone so close is sickening. This is such a heartbreaking story. What a beautiful young girl! May God bless her family!
💔
Train your kids people. Dont go with anybody or anywhere without telling you, ever!!
You can tell them that and they still don't listen
Back in the day parenting was crazy ! Children roaming around outside, out of view, for hours at a time. Neighbor saw her “ a couple of hours ago reading a book “ 80’s 90’s kids are blessed to have their life
Most Kids were more mature, at a younger age then. And crazy people were not as abundant as they are now.
As a 90's kid I can agree. I was 6 yrs old catching the city bus by myself. I had to be independent very young. And yes a lot of bad things happened to me but I also became extremely independent. Times were wild. Rip baby girl😢❤
My wife and I raised 2 daughters; there were little girls in the late 80s. We never let them out of our sight, even back then. It in no way excuses what that guy did, but, I don’t understand your little girl being out of your sight for apparently hours. Maybe I have a jaded view but this world has always been a dangerous place and I’m in my 60s!

I used to play outside on my street, unsupervised, in the 60's. Those days are long gone. We live in a sick society where the value of life has been depreciated.

When I was around 6 or 7, around 1997 or so. I was with my papaw, and he went inside the gas station and I was in his single cab Chevy. A man in a white astro van , was parked about 20 feet to the right of the truck , and a man was in the driver seat with the window down, and I remember him staring at me and not looking away. I remember being so scared and I told my papaw as soon as he came out and I was crying. It’s kinda foggy after that of the details. But I think everyone has had that time in their life where they were close to an abduction. Especially before the security camera days..
That's crazy that there are so many predators targeting children.
Why would anyone do this to another human-being, let alone a child? This guy's worse than a monster. Smh.
Me as well. We played with friends for hours in the street below are our house. May the Lord bless and comfort Jessica's

Please teach your kids to not to go with strangers 🥺
seriously, it is mostly well known connected persons that commit these crimes.
Strangers hardly ever do 😐☹️
AGREED 😔
Stranger abductions and murders are very rare. You need to teach your children not to go with anyone, except in an emergency, where you tell them who they can go with. This also goes with school. Only approved people can pick them up. That’s just the beginning. You also teach them that no one except approved people should touch their “ parts covered by clothing.” And to scream your head off if they do (even better, yell fire. No one ignores that).
I like in New York City all of my life. Anyway...kids don't listen. Never do. Shit happens. The thing is kids want to be grown+that's kid's attitude. Not my son.. Definitely NOT.
Teach parents to watch their children

It makes me cry inside to go out walking and see young kids alone and unsupervised. As much as I want to know the kids are going to be safe, I fear that I could be marked as a potential predator, so I keep walking. It's the few sickos of society which have spoiled it for the concerned people who genuinely care about kids and their safety. Calling the police is as far as I would go to help.
My thoughts exactly.
I can't tell you how many times at my job parents leave their kids to run around a large department store unsupervised. It's absolutely ridiculous.
Oh..the life of living in an apartment complex. Good times..(sarc). It was my sole mission in life to make sure my children never experienced that kind of miserable experience. To anyone reading this living in this situation I feel for you…I sincerely do.
19:15 actually it was the mother that recognized and matched the voice. Without her recognizing the voice, the cops probably wouldn't have ever figured it out.
WTF?😳 The police cleared the recorded voice. Then the mom recognized the enhanced audio. I think they would have busted the killer even without the mom's contribution. Knowing the killer is white, have specific dog breed, and the killer being a neighbour who publicly walks that dog, they would have reached him. The mom just expedited the search.

Yea , even in NYC , because the people in the Neighborhood watched. over THEM TOO !!!
Things have always been this way though. We just know that it happens much more than we used to because the internet has connected the entire world. Information spreads quickly. I too used to think it was safer when I was a child but it wasn't. News just didn't travel as fast.
Things definitely weren't like they are now when I was a kid, but, I am also 66.
Pretty interesting how someone can take a life with 0% care and never consider the other persons desire to live yet can beg and beg for a deal that avoids the death penalty for them. Face the same fate as those you kill.

And left her alone unattended for supposedly HOURS.
I will never understand how parents can let their kids go outside unsupervised. I just I’ll never understand that. When the mother said “a few thousand later her father walked in..” a few hours??? I just simply cannot
That was a completely different time then tho.. we all went and played by ourselves. I use to go out myself all the time younger than her. But let me tell you my almost 14 year old still doesn't go to the corner store which is in on the corner of my street himself fuck that one

I was looking for some one to say this. !
I agree especially when she knew this man was in the neighborhood and he made her uncomfortable. I was in the small town where my sister lives. Every year there is a huge even that brings thousands into town. My nephew 10, my niece 8 were angry we wouldn't let them walk the 6 blocks from the restaurant back to the house. I explained there were a lot unknown people in town. I also taught them and my own son. Never go anywhere with someone. If someone tries to grab you, kick scream, scratch etc. I also have taught them trust your gut, anyone can be dangerous.
I totally agree with your comment-and while I feel bad for the parents-I question -where is outside- to me that right out front in the yard- within hearing -sight and vocal range- not down the street at the park waiting for dad- a predators opportunity- and two hours- this-sadly- has the element of neglect as well.
As a mother, when I thought “oh that’s weird grown man that wants to hang around kids with his dog constantly”, I would’ve been on guard immediately. But I guess times were different then. There is no way I’d let my kids out my site at that age. If you’re playing outside I’m watching you, and when I go in so do you. It is so sad that baby died over negligence all around. And yes my name is Jessica ironically. I’m a mother of 3 and I can’t imagine the pain this mom went through but I pray for the family and their healing.

The man upstairs (as Jessica's father called God) took James Edward Crow on Nov 21, 2011 and dealt with him up there.
The 1980s and '90s saw innocence lost with incidents like this. No longer can you let your kids play without being supervised or even so much as walk to the school bus stop alone. I used to do paper routes in the 1960s and early 1970s starting at 4AM to make extra money. In 1984 after the murder of a 13 year old newspaper carrier, that was the end of kids doing morning routes and they were phased out completely in 1992 on afternoon routes.
I can’t believe how many comments are blaming the mother (the customs at that time were different) and forgetting the sick disaster of a human who actually did this to Jessica. 😢 God bless this poor baby.
I was 13 when Jessica was murdered. I grew up and lived in the neighborhood behind the apartment complex where this happened. We grew up walking through the apartment complex to get to school because we did not have a bus that came to our neighborhood due to not being far enough from the school.
