    It seems like having the smoker would act as an oven as well. Also, the pipe oven allows you to cook on the stove while things are baking. Pulling the trigger on this product with most attachments soon.

    Winnerwell make some great products, I purchased a Large Winnerwell Fire Pit from Bundy Outdoors for second fire pit, it’s only entry level and does not have any bells and whistles like the Snowpeak but was at a reasonable price about $110 on special.

    I notice that you guys never mentioned the price. I jaw hit the floor when I saw that it is double to triple the price of its competitors. Granted, it is stainless steel, but is it worth that much for shiny metal and glass sides (what is that all about anyway?).

    • @acafwd
      @acafwd  2 роки тому +2

      I honestly don't think you could do it fairly. Sort of like comparing a 4WD to a sports car. Depends on the needs of the user. I have both and use them differently. The Winnerwell is great because it can heat without any smoke inside an enclosed space, Can boil water. Can be used for cooking with as well, and provides great heat. Plus in rain, the fire just keeps going. Downside is they can weigh a lot more. An outside firepit can be a lot lighter and you can also boil water and cook on them with the right additions. But not so good in rain, windy conditions or when used in an enclosed spot.

    Yeah I just received my winnerwell from homecamp as well. Waiting on a 45 degree and extra pipe section. Did you have any trouble contacting homecamp?. They take a week to get a hold off over their email

      @acafwd  4 роки тому +1

      Hey mate. Yeah. I emailed them and did not get a reply so I sent them another message and they replied to that. Looks like they have been really busy, I know what it is like in retail. Best off to email them again. I generally level it for 7 days before trying again.
      I am aware they just got in more stock and should be sending out these orders shortly.

    Hi , love the video, really useful, we are looking at getting one, our flue will go up through a sleeve in our tent, we plan on getting the double wall, you mentioned heat moving to the pipe, do you remember at all what the temp was at the very top? Would it burn a tent if was touching with the double wall.
    Thanks

    • @acafwd
      @acafwd  4 роки тому

      So you can do a couple of thing if going through a tent or beside it. They have a rubber seal you can add into a wall of a tent which allows the pipe to pass outside. The other option is the chimney which dissapates heat quicker than without it. The top was nowhere near as hot as the bottom. I think it was around 40 c, but that may vary,

    Just stroll upon your video. Would you consider using this stove inside your home in case of a life and death emergency; during a winter storm power outage . I was thinking about if a power outage hit i would camp inside my carport inside a tent and use my stove with the 45 degree angle and my 90 degree angle to clear the smoke out of the tent underneath the carport.

    What kind of burn times do you get with this stove?? Can you damper down the flue and extend the burn to say 6 hours? More?

    • @nicholaswatt9850
      @nicholaswatt9850 3 роки тому

      You can turn the dampener to give you the slowest burn but I have this exact model and the burn time after you choke it down a bit is around 3-4 hours

    • @nicholaswatt9850
      @nicholaswatt9850 3 роки тому +1

      Great little unit! And the heat it throws out is crazy for something that size...purely because of how thick the stainless steel is...it's 304 grade so it's heavy duty, retains a lot of heat

    I wanted to comment that if you are letting that stove turn RED hot you are damaging the steel....when it cools it will warp and bend. Optimal TEMP for these stoves is between 400 and 700 Degrees F.

    • @acafwd
      @acafwd  4 роки тому +1

      Hey mate. I actually owned an Ozpig. It was a great product. But is was extremely heavy and its shape made it not easily transportable. It did not have any windows for light and heat and it did not have an oven or an attachment for hot water.
      I do love the Ozpig, but for camping I would always take the Winnerwell over the ozpig.

    • @Cruzeoverland
      @Cruzeoverland 4 роки тому +1

      Just got this winnerwell and fired it up tonight. It beats my ozpig hands down in heat output and comfort. Ie NO SMOKE. Ozpig is now scrap metal.

    • @missingMBR
      @missingMBR 2 роки тому

      If cost is a concern, then grab the Kings Fire Stove. Similar design to the Winnerwell at half the price. Although it's heavier, and does leak smoke so wouldn't use it in a hot tent.

  • @kennethmcdonald9736
    @kennethmcdonald9736 3 роки тому

    I dont see any logic to what you are doing. If its under a tarp that way, not inside a tent, you might as well use a solo stove or a Bushbox XL, unless its regulations against causing fire by sparks

    • @acafwd
      @acafwd  3 роки тому

      Hi Kenneth. There are a lot of advantages of this type of set up over an open fire. I love using this setup. Having the fire enclosed means it can run in all sorts of weather, you can have it insode and out, flames cannot escape so at the end of the night you close the vents and it goes out, or you can partially close it so it slowly burns during the night to make it very easy to start in the morning. It provides hot water when you want it, I can use it in an area where open fires are not allowed such as forests and caravan parks, and you can cook on it. The heat that comes from it is also awesome.

    • @kennethmcdonald9736
      @kennethmcdonald9736 3 роки тому

      @@acafwd but you are under a tarp with it so, bushbox wont go out. Sure but its massive. depends on how much gear you can carry
