Hi thanx how much yards of fabric did you use

Since the fabric is basically a square with a circle cut through the center for your waist, you just need to make sure you are using a square piece of fabric. Depending on your height or desired skirt length, you would make a square from that size. Most fabrics are 36" / 42" / 60" wide. You would basically need to get the exact same length of fabric to make it square. Since she had a 42" wide fabric and probably 1.5 yards, she folded one corner to make the square and cut off the excess fabric so that her length was also 42". Hope this helps. Thank you for watching!

As a professional fashion designer with a bachelors degree in fashion design, I’m absolutely devastated by how poorly made this was. BUT I can see how this can be helpful to an absolute beginner or someone on a budget and in need of making their own clothes. otherwise, I would advise everyone to get their information from more experienced UA-camrs

You're right, UA-cam has tons of great videos by very experienced people. That being said, this quick tutorial was part of our San Diego Public Library How-to Festival, where locals share ideas, info and projects (in-person and virtually!) to get absolute beginners interested and engaged in our community. If you have a particular UA-cam video you would want to shout out, please share!
