Dangerous Brian, Septic Peg and, of course, Nick Frisbee ("It's a puppet !"). This show had me helpless with laughter in its day - one of the most naturally funny comedians ever !

I always remember it from when i was a kid, but found no information on it anywhere, maybe i imagined it

Infern0121 currently trying to find any info or clips of this hard as nails sketch. I can't find much footage of beadle's other shows to check through either.

Hard as Nails was The Hard on the tube, It's actually my friend, Malcolm Jenson who played that character on The Tube in 1982.

That was Beadle's Hotshots. Another brilliant 90s show that I sorely miss.

Brian Conley along with Lee Evans is one of the funniest guys i've ever come across he used to have me choking. British comedians piss all over American comedians by far, i say that because an American recently said Brit comedians are devoid of even one funny bone. I say Americans are too busy trying to look perfect, obsessed with image and are completely full of shit.

Or do you mean the character that would loudly exclaim, "HAAAAARD AS NAILS!!!" and then run into a steel gate or head butt a bag of nails or something equally hard?

  • @eurochrissy2

i think Brian might have got the ear wiggle from Stan Laurel,in A Chump At Oxford...i think.

'hard as nails'-they were two guys on another tv show,-it was kind of 'you've been framed'-but the videos were edited/shot by the viewers, mainly like tv ads-and a little bit more than accidents/etc,-basically one guy introduced the other as 'hard as nail's,then the other guy would go on to do some stupid stunt or other, similar to dangerous brian,i think they went on to advertise for real, the brand of 'hard as nails' adhesive,so i don't think you imagined it infern0

eurochrissy2 it's been years but any light on what show this "hard as nails" sketch. I can't seem to find anything on them other than the comments on this video and a reddit post that leads nowhere.

i remember Paul Hogan doing a spoof of a hairspray advert, him and his mate are digging a hole by the side of the road, the woman with the hairspray cycles past, and a distracted Paul hits his mate over the head with a pickaxe, then buries him in the hole, hoping no one is looking!

He was a real anachronistic comic. He might just have been funny in the 1960s. And to think he was the same sort of age as the comic revolution team of the 1980s. Sad.
