Just got my Blend Oud Sana today and I'm in love. Absolutely amazing option for a Lira lover. I couldn't do the synthetic version of DG Devotion. This is perfection on the blend. Will try it out for sillage and longevity but at least for the scent itself... its beautiful! A love. ❤

I love Bake, but one of my favorite citrusy vanillas is Franck Boclet Vanille. The lime note is soooo good.
It is SO good. I used to talk about that one all of the time esp as a more affordable alternative to Lira. But I passed it along as I had too much over lap. I r always said and thought it is a majorly under appreciated vanilla

I own Sana and love it. It’s maybe my only truly gourmand perfume. I usually lean fresher, but I love it in fall/winter. To me Devotion has something in it that gives citronella bug repellent and I can’t unsmell it. Good video idea!

This is one of my favourite categories! I love Ani for winter and Gypsy Water for summer 😍I had the opportunity to smell Gioisa recently and it's fabulous! 🤩Will be definitely getting a decant of it. I find it to be miles better than Bianco Latte.

I love Gypsy water in the summer!!! Sadly on my skin it is a watery body mist!!!! I love Ani in the fall/winter. I think I would choke someone out wearing it in the heat. Gypsy water (and freshies in general) are meant to be sprayed on fabric and not skin; they are not meant to be”morph” or warm up like most other notes in perfumery . So you should try spraying on your clothes. As you. A tell by commrnts; there are die hard GW lovers who like me, find it lovely and one of the more wearable vanilla perfumes in super hot weather. Then of course understandably there are those who feel differently. I’m just here to let yall know what I’ll be wearing. 💕💕💕😍😍😍
My favourite in this category is Ex Nihilo Love and Crime although I Think it’s more winter appropriate

Gypsy Water is my hot weather vanilla here in South Florida - perfect amount of freshness combined with warmth. It’s just lovely - and yes, wish it lasted longer. Always love your descriptions and recommendations. ❤

I love G Water but I layer it with Ingenious Ginger, which I often use to prolong other scents. I love Bake but Lira and Unknown Pleasures are very bitter, scorched lemon rind to my nose x

I love citrusy vanillas for summer, too. I must be the only person who can't stand Devotion, though. Devotion is just sickening to me. I love Ani so much, but I can't wear it in summer. It's one of my all-time favorite winter perfumes. Gypsy Water is also my all-time favorite summer ones, though I share the frustration about longevity, and because of that I also wear a dupe of it. There's a beautiful indie perfume that is citrus vanilla- Creme de Bergamot by For the Scent of It, and the note of vanilla isn't listed in the description but its a "citrus cream" so it sort of counts.

@@ThePerfumeNest I have been wearing Alexandria's dupe but I'm looking for another one. I've had it for a few years and almost finished it what's left seems to not be as good anymore. I'd be curious if there is another good dupe with more intensity and lasting power. I've heard some women say it's "masculine" but I love it and am looking for as close of a dupe as I can get, not one tweaked to be more "feminine."
Have you tried Eclaire by Lattafa? It is very, very close to Bianco Latte just not so beast mode on the sillage and still retaining the lactonic / caramel note that some many like. The one thing I did not like about was the over the top bottle.
I haven’t. I’ve certainly seen it around a ton. That is the one category I’m done buying in. I have Gioiosa and have Sissa on my wishlist for fall. But thank you for the comment. I think many will find it helpful. 💕😍
Hi Chris...wow, you know you have a lot of vanilla fragrances when you can do sub-categories! 😂 I love me a citrus vanilla, and I certainly haven't forgotten about Nishane's Ani. One of my top 5 fragrances for life. I adore that creamy vanilla. Sana has captured my eye and looks right up my alley. How about a spicy vanilla video? Those are my absolute favourite types of fragrances, but I guess they are better suited to cooler weather. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed this video!

On my skin Gypsy Water is truly like water. But Sana sounds so interesting.
That’s a bummer. Certainly not an excuse for its poor longevity, but the clean and fresh perfumes are meant to be sprayed on clothes . The idea is to keep them in their state and not warm or heat up like other notes (vanilla, ambers, etc)
Challenge accepted. I am going to douse my clothes, meet a friend for lunch, and she had better hurl some compliments my way.

Happy Sunday Chris! Another one I have is Xerjoff Nero 70. It’s a mixture of citruses and neroli with vanilla, amber and musk. . It’s very unisex so not super sweet. The only problem is that it is an exclusive to the Campomarzio 70 perfume stores in Italy. I bought one last time in Florence, so if anyone is going to Italy you can check it out.

I've never been huge on vanilla as a note.. However - when adding a citrus element for the summer? Oh yes. Love it. My favorite so far has been Signature by Mont Blanc. Lasts long on me, and I always get compliments!

Armani Prive "Bleu Turquiose" is a [Salty] Vanilla and is really good. Lancome "Idole" Aura is snother Salty Vanilla that is good(for a designer). 😊

Yes! That a fabulous vanilla. To me it’s more of a woody vanilla..but of course we are splitting hairs. It’s gorgeous. You’ll see that in my summer vanillas. Do you have EDT or EdP?

Indeed Profumum roma fragrances are expensive but last foreeever on me and you don't need to spray them a lot 😊 I like that they have 18ml format for a cheaper price (still super expensive compared to the quantity but they are so strong it would take me ages to finish a 100ml bottle 😅)

Are you talking about the yellow Absolue? I like it too but I worry it will be too much. It reminds me for some reason about Sunflower perfume. I used to own it and it was suffocating and made me caugh. Even though I loved it, I couldn't wear it.

I absolutely love citrus vanillas like Gypsy water, eau duelle, the architects club. I like Lira but I never felt the urge to purchase it. Devotion and bake for some reason smell like car air freshener and cleaning product to me. So I guess, I'm not into the gourmand citrus vanilla.

A good citrusy vanilla is Tocca Colette. It smells a lot like Gypsy Water for a fraction the price. That said, it’s not very strong, so I always end up layering it. Good for bedtime.
Yes it is SOO pretty. But even at discounters is running around 120$ so yes it is more affordable than GW, I still find the performance just as bad. I would love to find something VERY similar at a true fraction of the price (less than 75$) that lasted longer. That would be amazing. I’m going to enjoy my GW and it’s fabulous in blistering hot weather like yesterday (Was my SOTD in 96 degree heat) but I won’t be repurchasing. 😉💕

I’m in the Rio Grande Valley. Humidity + 3 digit #’s = vanishing perfume 😢 do you think any of these can withstand a day of running a few errands without carrying a decant? Tropical weather problems 😅

Not only is it interesting to hear the reasoning , but it could save me from a blind buy on a fragrance ( I do extensive research before blind buying but let’s be honest, it’s kinda fun to buy a fragrance you haven’t sniffed and smell it for the first time and be blown away by how much you love it …the THRILL of the hunt. ) In this fragrance journey, I have found citrus vanillas that are gourmand aren’t my jam. I like them in the bottle , I like them in the air, but I prefer to eat them or burn them in a candle 😂. Citrus vanillas that steer clear of pies and cookies I can do. I love Gypsy Water but I wish she weren’t such a Gypsy! Maybe if I bake her a lemon meringue pie she will stick around for more than an hour long visit .
🤣🤣It’s a sweltering day here so I wore Gypsy Water going to my exercise class and errands (of course I sprayed on my clothes). It lasted till past lunch, close Sillage which was perfect because this heat would ruin just about anything else. Thx for the feedback!!

This one may not fit into this category, but I think it does: Burberry Goddess. I have been wearing it nonstop and yes it has a distinct lavender, but when that fades a little bit, the ginger and vanille do something wonderful just like in Ani. Also, for people looking for a Lira dupe that is a beast: Hazz by Regalien. Price wise it is between Sana and Lira, and well worth your money.

@@ThePerfumeNest That is unfortunate! I can smell it for days when I spray it on my clothes. I did that with a sample and fell in love with it. Bought a 100 ml not long ago. I still have to discover the cacao note in it though. I hope I will.
