@@KawaiiDespair I'm glad you like my ideas. In my case, I just think it's a bit unfair that only Ascians can use the Dark line spells, and mystic knight has been around in some form or the other (Gladiator and Spellblade in FFTA, Spellfencer in Bravely Default) to be an iconic class.
well, we DID go and meet a bunch of ascians, I'm sure square could magic some justification for one coming to one of the main cities and teaching us dark magic
If not with this coming expansion then somewhere in the near future, I'm hoping that instead of adding jobs, they slowly start to introduce branching jobs, like you mentioned with WHM turning into Geomancer. It would add variety, save on development cost, especially if the gear stats can change which stat they go to dependent on role as you stated. Branching jobs also helps alleviate the class identity problem. Now instead of worrying is this new job too much like an old one, it's fine because the new job would be based off the old one and compound its gameplay style. All in all, I think this is a great vid that addresses an approach that I personally think is guaranteed in the future. I haven't seen many people mention role switching, and with how arcanist caused trouble back in the day as a dps that turned into a healer, I can understand why. However, ultimately I think it makes more sense to go back to that idea and flush it out rather than having 30+ classes somewhere in the next ten years. I look forward to the day you're theories are proven right.
Oh right, arcanist was silly back when we still had stat points lol. Also one of the problems with adding new jobs is just finding new weapons to use that aren't the same as other weapons like halberds and such :(. Though I also hope to be proven right in the future hehe! thank you :)
The branching jobs idea is one I've been thinking about too. It would be soooo much better for job identity and allowing players to play diff roles in newest content. personally i'd like to see a barrier tank like Mysta from FFBE and a Necromancer (DOT mage) iirc ffxi puppet master and corsair were combined to make machinist
the pupeteer thing makes sense, i remember when mch's placed down auto turrets like a pet, and oohhh a barrier tank could be cool. And I understand that dot's and hots aren't very "interactive" but man, its an important power fantasy and yoshi p is determined to rip it all away :(
Interesting evidence for sure. I think the next melee will definitely share scouting gear with NIN. I was hoping for a switch-up though. So they present a twinblade character, a la Zidane from FF9, and then a giant Hammer character. They present the hammer as a tank and the twinblade as a melee DPS, then some universe/multiverse shenanigans happens swapping their places. The giant hammer becomes the melee DPS using scouting gear, for a glass cannon build, and the twinblade becomes a dodge-tank, so Zidane can join DRK Cloud, GNB Squall, and PLD Tidus. BUT: After that volleyball bomb scene in the Endwalker Manderville content there is no way we're not getting Blitzer as our Ranged Physical DPS.
I would love to get twin blades too, but having a giant hammer/mace wielding boyo dressed up like a ninja would be hilarious and I'd be down for that too xD. Dodge tanking would be cool, or like more parry/riposting with the twin blades. would kill for more ff9 representation :)
*Elementalist from FFT Advance* Know Bard has DOTs? Know Red Mage that can cast both damage and healing magic? Merge them and viola, *Elementalist* In my mind, Elementalist is all about damage/healing over time 1) empowering DOTs from other sources (Bard Venom Bite, Monk Demolish, etc) 2) strengthen HOTs from healers (Regen, Aspected Benefic, etc) Its about how Spiritmaster from Bravely Default II works. Kinda like fairy of scholar but has more utility more than just periodic healing
I wasnt a fan of FFTA, being a teenager and going "why the hell would i want to LEAVE this world. boo" but a spiritmaster would be cool. BD has some cool jobs in it

man both of these tickle something I love. jobs that require MP that aren't specifically casters, and dot's!

Yes a puppet master class 7.0 plz that would be awesome
it would be soooo cool! pet jobs are my favorites

Yeah I want more dual wielding stuff. it just looks so cool
Seeing as alot of the jobs are similar to 11 pup would more likeybe a melee
maybe..but a man can dream lol xD
@@KawaiiDespair It could potentially be similar to smn with different puppet frames summoned at a time with melee. That would work
that would be cool. but have a bunch of em, ST ones, aoe ones. sky's the limit
@@KawaiiDespair Yes, on 11 there's a DD, rng, tank, when and BLM one so there is options
i love me archtypes that summon things to fight for them, and smn doesnt really do that anymore :( lol
Onion knight and a Geomancer.
both would be fun options that I'd love to see yoshi's take on. :)
I think ff14 dont needs a new job!
We are probably in a good spot, but gotta have some reason to get people excited about a new expansion!
