Spinosaurus is a unique dinosaur but if you ever want to blame somebody put the blame on Jack horner btw love every dinosaur both carnivores herbivores etc equally
As someone who went to see Jurassic Park III in the cinemas in 2001 at 8 to 9 years old, the shocking defeat of the T. rex at the jaws of the Spinosaurus genuinely gutted me and lessened my enjoyment of the film. Add that to the fact that it took years for a new Jurassic movie to come out, JP3 was easy to hate and scapegoat, claiming the Spino was one of the reasons why the movie failed (it wasn't, of course). It took a few years to separate the movie monster with the fascinating prehistoric hunter that Spinosaurus truly was. Since the franchise's revival in 2015, JP3 ceased to be the bane of the franchise and became just another adventure in a now-ongoing film and TV series. It's no longer the odd one out, but an almost-quaint curio of early 2000s blockbuster filmmaking. After 2015, hating the movie Spinosaurus faded and its new features and attributes became its most defining strengths, and the new discoveries in paleontology made me admire the real life Spinosaurus.
5:25 it actually did show up again. In Camp Cretaceous Season 4 and 5 it showed up as older and much larger. It was confirmed to be the same on from JP3. The reason it’s on Mantacorp Island is because it was taken from Sorna and placed in the Desert biome on Mantacorp Island. It’s got different colors because it’s in a desert and not a swamp like environment so it’s stressed. Edit: 6:10 yes, Camp Cretaceous was confirmed to be canon to the main movie timeline.
I've always loved Spinosaurus, ever since I saw it in Jurassic Park 3 way back when. I like both the classic bipedal look and the more modern quadrupedal look. Both look pretty awesome to me.
0:46 Personally, even as a kid, I never had a problem with the Spino taking out that T-Rex. I was 4 and understood that even at that time, "ok that thing took out a Rex, it is not to be messed with" I never understood the hate for it, it's not like it took out "Rexy", it was a random T-Rex.
JP3 was what fully introduced me to the Spinosaurus and was what made me love it. Now I understand that the design of the creature in the movie isn’t accurate to what it may have actually looked like in reality(Not that accuracy ever mattered in the Jurassic franchise anyway), but that didn’t stop me from loving it.
When I first watched JP3, I thought that the T-Rex the Spino killed was Rexy, so that's why I didn't like it at first. But now that I'm older and realized that it wasn't Rexy, I started to like the Spino. You can kill any T-Rex as long as it's not Rexy!
Spinosaurus will always be the best Jurassic Park villain even tho spinosaurus in reality isn’t a T. rex killer or terrifying monster it’s an awesome creature accurate or not
If they do add Spino in the next movie,I really hope they don’t just kill it through the rumoured rematch since to me it is just done out of spite and hate(unless it is a paleo accurate one)(hope that’s not the case).Instead,if both Rex and Spino do fight, just have them fight it out but end it at a stalemate. At least a stalemate means both Dinos are just as equally awesome and good, finally settling the score/beef.Or trex fights another super predator and wins Plus,Spino as a whole, needs a redemption and the recognition and respect it deserves. The poor guy gets hate for 23yrs by the fandom for killing a Rex,not THE rexes of the franchise, only to appear in a tv show which puts it in a different extreme environment, gets a weird makeover, mind controlled and ganged up and overall underutilised. And then gets thrown into the void again without giving the fans any answers.Instead half baked excuses. A Lot of pipul hate me bicus i love Spinosaurus and im like Bro chil IT was cool i understand your angry bicus he killd a T-rex but you Kant Change what i love
I remember pre 2019 every comment I saw regarding the Spinosaurus were that people wanted a rematch where it loses. But nowadays a lot of people really like it (some a bit too much). It's probably the third most beloved theropod after T.rex and Velociraptor
As a Kid yeah I used to hate the Spinosaurus when it killed the T. rex the same way when I used to hate King Kong but years later I forgive them and like them now
Originally I felt nothing special about Spinosaurus but the more I learned how WEIRD it is, Its just make me amazed that something like this actually exist at some point.
I know another movie that shows this predator and I have it on DVD. The movie is also narrated by John Hurt and the predator appears on the very first episode of the movie.
I remember that fight, Lost sleep that night lol. Being older I understand they wanted to make a statement. T-rex is considered overrated and they wanted something new and boy Spino's a fascinated animal. Now the "bigger threat yeeting rexes" in every film gets old lol.
Don't confuse the terms people!!! This isn't about Spinosaurus, it's about a whole bad movie. We don't have a problem with the dinosaur, but we don't like JP 3 (unfortunately, the only movie in which it is). I have absolutely nothing against this dinosaur, but I don't mind how all his fans think they are better than anyone else and thanks to one movie and especially one scene, they think that their "hero" is absolutely indestructible and can survive absolutely everything (they're still making fun of the T-Rex fans whining, but it's pretty clear why they don't want a rematch, because if Spino lost they'd cry even more and be mad at the whole world). People simply idealize it and make it something it is definitely not (it's just an animal for god's sake and only acts on instinct - it can't be even a villain or either a hero). I quite like that dino, I like its unique design and I would like to see the finale of Dominion where T-Rex, Spino and Giga fight together (instead of Therizinosaurus). Yes, maybe there is someone for whom the T-Rex means their whole life and after JP 3 their world collapsed, but there are probably very few of them (if anyone at all).
I remember watching the original trilogy as a kid and just get absolutely terrified whenever the Spinosaurus was onscreen. Killing the Rex filled me with dread cuz that's when I realised that this guy was a force to be reckoned wiyh. I understand why people hate on Spino but that ain't me, chief. He's on my list of top 5 favourite dinosaurs in the Jurassic franchise.
I remembered when i first saw Jurassic Park 3 I didn't like the Spinosaurus because an obvious scene, but getting older I really like the Spinosaurus for it's cool design and menacingly roar, and just looking at the jp3 fight nowadays it's kinda entertaining even though it's short, I'll definitely be up for the Spinosaurus in the new movie (if that ever happens)
It seems like Jurassic Park treats the Rex like an older WWE star who has held the title for a long time and now has the responsibility of putting the newcomers over with the crowd. Showcasing how strong the new competition is by taking an impressive beating, while also putting up a good fight.
as a kid i hated the spino for killing the T Rex but as i’ve grown and watched more Dinosaur movies.. the T Rex had to be removed from the spotlight every once in a while
For years after the release of JP3, I use to hate the Spinosaurus for the fact it killed off that T Rex. But as I got older, old sail back crocodile on steroids really grown on me, especially given how incredibly rare of a dinosaur it is. And the continued debate on what this animal overall attributes say to what this creature is capable of, well it's made me appreciate that he did exist at one point in Earth's Vast History.
0:25 I like the Jango Fett reference lol “I’m just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe”….my channel is centered around Jurassic park and Star Wars so I caught that immediately 😂
A distinction needs to be made between the real animal and the movie creature. I for one love both the JP spino and the realistic spino as separate entities.
I love the Spino. Now lol back In 2001 I was one of the butt hurt 12 year olds that hated Spino for killing our beloved Rex. But that didn’t last long it grew on us quickly.
I personally absolutely love the spino even before I saw the jp3 one and that design is just so damn good I do hope through the years it gets less hate and more love Also I'm 20 and the spino is 23 years old that's insane to me
Is it possible that you can both hate and love this thing? I loved how cool it looked, and I loved how powerful it was. But yeah, I was kind of mad that it killed T Rex who, at the time, I thought was the biggest and baddest.
I mean I don't blame the fans. You suddenly bring up a new dinosaur, replace it from the main logo, kill it off, have a "T.Rex pee" scene where many fans claim that it means it was a Rex killer, the last point is just overdoing the dominance of Spino. But I can't hate it, it's roars are brilliant, it's savage and strong and it's formidable competition to the Rex. I badly want to see Buck and Spino fight in a 1v1.
@@White_Tiger1357 Sure, just remember that dinosaurs can either be killed tastefully or tastelessly. There’s a balance to everything. Back in 2001 the film-makers were treading unknown new ground with what they did and(hopefully) gained insight on the right ways and wrong ways in how to do it without angering everyone in the valuable audience and customer base. If the previous World movies have been anything to go by they did at least learn something. So far the whole thing kinda reminds me of this from TLW: “Don’t worry, I’m not making the same mistakes again.” “No, no, you’re making all new ones.”
Fun fact: They referenced that one scene from Jurassic Park III in a Doraemon movie. In that movie, a T-rex that was previously tamed ended up defeating the villains’ pet Spinosaurus.
Also, in the anime Dinosaur King, whenever Terry (the T-rex) fights Spiny (the Spinosaurus), Terry usually wins. This is also a potshot against the Spinosaurus in JPIII. Also, the infamous “documentary” Monsters Resurrected depicted the Spinosaurus based on the JPIII one, but even more exaggerated to the point of that episode being ridiculous.
Honestly I think another reason why we never saw the Spino is location as well. I think the events of Lost World were more in the southern regions of Isla Sorna, while JP3 was more northern regions. And I think there was talk that the Spino may have been the first Hybrid that would eventually lead to the I-Rex and IndoRaptor, hence the clandestine nature of its creation. And technically we did get our revenge on the Spino in Jurassic World when Rexy, the OG T-Rex, plowed through the Spino skeleton on the way to confront the I-Rex. Also I like how the whole franchise hasn't just outright villified any species of Dinosaur. We watched Raptors go from being the villain to neutral, to having a NAMED Raptor be somewhat Heroic. And Rexy herself, while starting a bit as an antagonist, also kinda went neutral to anti-hero in a way against the I-Rex, and even indirectly saving Blue's life with the blood transfusion. Overall I do like how the dinosaurs have been handled.
the spino being the first hybrid is debunked, dr wu admitted that the very first hybrid ever created is scorpius rex which it takes place after jp3 but before JW and dr wu is the only one that creates them.
Will this debate ever go away? Probably not haha

I use to hate t but grew up and realize it was needed in the jurassic verse, it is the perfect villain, it should stay the same and still be a rex killer
Not a rex killer bro
@raghochadman not in real life when it was alive, but it is in fiction.
Yes agred
A Lot of pipul hate me bicus i love Spinosaurus and im like Bro chil IT was cool i understand your angry bicus he killd a T-rex but you Kant Change what i love
And chill The Spinosaurus killd a Random trex
I remember pre 2019 every comment I saw regarding the Spinosaurus were that people wanted a rematch where it loses. But nowadays a lot of people really like it (some a bit too much). It's probably the third most beloved theropod after T.rex and Velociraptor
Do you think that the same thing could’ve happened to Space Jam, especially with the introduction of Lola Bunny?
As a Kid yeah I used to hate the Spinosaurus when it killed the T. rex the same way when I used to hate King Kong but years later I forgive them and like them now
Because you don't just kill the dinosaurs with the strongest bite force and intelligent carnivore in a few seconds
In fiction you can
In the franchise tyrannosaurus doesn’t have a strong bite force only in reality it does
in jurassic franchise the trexes bite force is 3.4 tons, it's been nerfed since the beginning of the franchise.
bite force doesn't really matter
Gonna cry on a fictional movie?
love the design and behaviour of the jp3 spino but hate that it killed the rex
T Rex isn't invincible
Like it's a movie
I mean they had to make it a menace to t rexes to make it feel like the new big threat
T. rex needed to be taken down
@@G55544 yeah but realistically....

Nice topic, say what you want about the appearance of the Spinosaurus in Camp Cretaceous, but that one scene with it catching the door was awesome 🙂👍
Blame Jack Horner, he wanted to force Rex as a scavenger, so he made the super predator Spino to kill it, also he hated Rex cause of Miasauria
I remember that fight, Lost sleep that night lol. Being older I understand they wanted to make a statement. T-rex is considered overrated and they wanted something new and boy Spino's a fascinated animal. Now the "bigger threat yeeting rexes" in every film gets old lol.
One of the reasons I like the Spinosaurus is because it’s one of the only antagonists in the Jurassic franchise to survive its initial appearance
Spinosaurus Jura king from Jurassic Park 3 is a favorite dinosaur and Spinosaurus Slicer is also a favorite Spinosaurus from Camp Cretaceous.
I watched JP3 when it came out when I was 3
He’s been my fav since then
I remembered when i first saw Jurassic Park 3 I didn't like the Spinosaurus because an obvious scene, but getting older I really like the Spinosaurus for it's cool design and menacingly roar, and just looking at the jp3 fight nowadays it's kinda entertaining even though it's short, I'll definitely be up for the Spinosaurus in the new movie (if that ever happens)
I live spino and no one can change my mind over the fact that it's underrated and overhated
fav dino
Imagine if we clone a Spino and it just ends up becoming a chef at a high end restaurant?
I like a lot more the Spinosaurus than the T-Rex. Spino and Carnotaurus 👌
It seems like Jurassic Park treats the Rex like an older WWE star who has held the title for a long time and now has the responsibility of putting the newcomers over with the crowd. Showcasing how strong the new competition is by taking an impressive beating, while also putting up a good fight.
as a kid i hated the spino for killing the T Rex
but as i’ve grown and watched more Dinosaur movies.. the T Rex had to be removed from the spotlight every once in a while
For years after the release of JP3, I use to hate the Spinosaurus for the fact it killed off that T Rex. But as I got older, old sail back crocodile on steroids really grown on me, especially given how incredibly rare of a dinosaur it is. And the continued debate on what this animal overall attributes say to what this creature is capable of, well it's made me appreciate that he did exist at one point in Earth's Vast History.
I really hope it comes back in the new Jurassic movie , if not I’ll cry
Honestly, I don't love OR hate the Spino. I'm just not a big fan of the JP version (although I don't hate it)
0:25 I like the Jango Fett reference lol “I’m just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe”….my channel is centered around Jurassic park and Star Wars so I caught that immediately 😂
Spinosaurus was always my favorite. Jurassic park 3 always felt the scariest.
Out of every movie in the Jurassic franchise?
Agreed!
@@UnwantedGhost1-anz25 they were stuck in basically ruins with fully degraded buildings to take shelter in
6:06 yes, it's canon, liking it or not.
The spino is my fave dino
The comparison of dinosaur and sports fans was extremely accurate.
I personally absolutely love the spino even before I saw the jp3 one and that design is just so damn good I do hope through the years it gets less hate and more love
Also I'm 20 and the spino is 23 years old that's insane to me
Is it possible that you can both hate and love this thing? I loved how cool it looked, and I loved how powerful it was. But yeah, I was kind of mad that it killed T Rex who, at the time, I thought was the biggest and baddest.
Fr- it ruined my childhood and later after i think spino was cool because it killed a trex and now i kinda regret it
I mean I don't blame the fans.
If the news about the upcoming movie are accurate you might get your wish tho it won’t be the Buck and the Spino will be a new individual as well.
if any dinosaur can die, so can the trex.
So far the whole thing kinda reminds me of this from TLW:
“Don’t worry, I’m not making the same mistakes again.”
“No, no, you’re making all new ones.”
@Dinoslay killing a random trex is no mistake, it just shows that any dinosaur can die in combat including trexes, trexes are never unbeatable.
@@White_Tiger1357 Yes. All I’m saying is that they could have done it in a better way than what was chosen.
Jp 3 was actually the first jp movie i have watched
