Just hoping it leans more into horror. The series is sorely lacking in a horror element to its movies. And when they do lean a little into it. They are always the best scenes. Just gimmie a whole movie like that
Couldnt agree more, whilst I actually quite enjoyed the World trillogy, even though it was more family friendly, the series needs to go back to its roots. The trouble with World was that it simply wasnt scary and didnt feel very Jurassic, enjoyable, but not scary, Jurassic or suspensful, even JP3 had more suspense but yeah, Edwards is the perfect fit to shoot this new movie, cannot wait!!
I want to see some 90’s Jurassic park dinosaurs as well as some updated accuracy ones. “Less filled in gaps, our best guesstimate at a lifelike animal” or something that whatever wu ripoff decided to say for the press. I would love to see a more modern accuracy tyrannosaurus, all stealthy and mountainous fight another large carnivore and genuinely end it in a bite or two, or perhaps a ‘velociraptor anthirropus’ drop down from a tree and cling to someone with its claws while biting them to hell.
@@goldgamercommenting2990if you are saying that the teeth of t-rex are bladed, this is completely false. The rear ones are basically circle shaped while the front ones are more D shaped. This was to compensate for the extreme bite force of the trex which is estimated to be over 30,000 newtons. Comparatively the giganotosaurus, who actually has blade-like teeth, has a much weaker 18,000 newtons of bite force. Sorry for the long comment, i really like dinosaurs.
I didn’t start paying attention to directors of films until 2014’s Godzilla , so I have Gareth Edwards to thank for that !! And yes he is also one of my top favorite directors !!!!

I still think its an absolute crime that there hasnt been a teiceratops or stegosaurus fight against a carnivore in the movies. Sure the anky fought the indominus for 2 seconds and the brief carno fight in FK, but they tend to focus carni v carni. Lets get some herbi v carni
@luck.667 oh I've seen it. I was mainly talking about MOVIE fights and the lack of herbivores. We almost never see carnivores hunting or fighting herbivores which should be common considering that's kinda how dinosaurs operate
After hearing the announcement that Gareth Edwards, the same man who directed my fav. american Godzilla film, the 2014 Godzilla, Rogue One, and The Creator, is going to helm Jurassic World 4, with a screenplay by David Koepp (who wrote the original two films, Spider man, Death becomes her, Panic room, Mission Impossible, etc.), with Scarlett Johansson in the lead role, i have better hopes for the film. I wasn't a big fan of either fallen kingdom or dominion, and knowing this film ignores (but doesn't retcon) those two, hopefully it turns out differently and delivers on something that i would've personally loved to have seen in the Jurassic World trilogy.
Gareth Edwards ... alright ... so we're back to 7 minutes of dinosaurs per movie. Which means that the studio will be pissed off, changes the ending and we get a tacked on "finale" where the T-Rex beats up the monster of the week. Mark my words. I hope I'm wrong.

I'm still pretty wary of this. The last two movies burned me pretty bad and given how Universal as a tendency to play things safe and unambitious, I have little faith in this. Besides, JA Bayona wanted a bold and semi-artsy direction for Fallen Kingdom but Universal forced a dumb bombastic tone which resulted in a tonal mess. Why should I think this wouldn't happen again?
Me too. Not getting my hopes up until I actually watch this movie. But I will say, Fallen Kingdom - despite it's flaws - I think still pretty good and underrated, I like to compare it to The Lost World when it came out. It didn't recejve praise like it's predecessor, but time foward and we love the movie. But Dominion is a mess - they had something great to work on and just beefed real hard (I like to think they could just have had a two part movie - part one about the problems of dinos in mainland and people trying to coexist, part two biosyn pulling the strings and the characters trying to stop them

I was very fortunate to have seen Jurassic Park in theaters the day it came out. It was the first film I ever saw in theaters too. It unfortunately made me critical of so much garbage films that have come out since with bigger budgets. I really hope Jurassic Park gets done some justice it deserves. I've not enjoyed the last 3 films.

We gonna get another lame action pack Jurassic World type movie where main cast wont get hurt at all and worst thing we will get another super dinosaurs who have plot armor and haracter on thier own... I wish we had movie treating dinosaurs as ANIMALS scared of fire or gun shots with realistic behaviour so like we had in JP and JP Lost World.

I’d like a prequel set between 2-3, but it does look like it’s definitely after dominion. I love Sorna and the abandoned facilities. But it could be anywhere. The CGI models are complete, but they’ve still to render those models into the movie etc. I am so excited to see what Edwards does with this and that Koepp’s script is as good as it’s been rumoured to be.

Jurassic City seems an odd name since all of the locations have been remote and tropical locales. But if it’s got something to do with the ancient ruins we’ve seen from time to time, that should be fun! As a sort of Lara Croft meets Trespasser kind of film, and I hope this is not the only film that Gareth had in him.
I wouldn't be interested in this movie at all if weren't for the fact that Gareth Edwards was helming the project. Dude really knows how to elevate the work. And with Koepp writing the story, this could potentially be the best JP/JW movie since the original.
My concern is don't tease the dinosaurs for so long only to cutaway as soon as they start doing their thing. That tactic was annoying in both monsters and godzilla 2014. Also make the humans likeable and not boring cardboard cutouts like in those two movies I mentioned earlier. If this is gonna be a fresh start then make it worth the wait
At least 2010's "MONSTERS" and 2014's "GODZILLA" are both far more cinematically competent compared to Hollywood movies we're getting in these days. And yes, by "Hollywood movies we're getting in these days" I'm not only referring to Marvel studios, DC studios, Disney studios and etc but I'm also referring to the last three MonsterVerse movies from 2019, 2021 and 2024.
Jurassic world 1 is great despite some faults. JW2 & JW3 were god awful, so im not hyped for JW4. Fully expecting another disappointment I probably won’t go to theaters to watch it unless I know for sure they show a trex and trike fighting!
This sounds awful already. None of the people you mentioned seemed to have any experience with this kind of movie. You said it's a reboot, but not actually. The last 2 movies were awful and need to be wiped from cannon if there's any hope of real stakes. A complete reboot is their best option. Filming in so many locations implies it's going to be another cluttered movie. I don't see this being anything more than a very quick cash grab from a creatively dead franchise.

It’s amazing to know the film is in good hands in terms of producers, we’ve got a wide cast of talented artists that I trust will bring Jurassic to glory! I’m excited to see a more Jurassic park like installment.

Sounds like they're repeating what's been done four times before already. Like Hollywood does with every franchise now rather than actually evolve and move a series forward. There's so much potential in showing us a world where human have to adapt to living alongside dinosaurs but Hollywood don't seem to have a clue how to write anything interesting with the concept. Fallen Kingdom was set in a house once they got off the island and Dominions plot revolved around locusts and a cloned little girl.
I feel like they should definitely have him get eaten if he does appear, in a very similar fashion to how it went down in Primeval. It would make for quite a funny inside joke, and I bet Nigel himself would love it.
If the rex isnt gonna be in the movie or the small possibility based on where it is in the timeline then perhaps other large theropods could be used like mapusaurus, tyranotitan, and acrocanthosaurus or even saurophaginax. Torvosaurus would be a good addition to a movie as well.
You told so many great details that I would like to revisit or rewatch all parts of the trilogy again, including Jurassic World too, although I have not seen Jurassic World Dominion yet. And I will do this. Thank you

Jurassic world 1 is great despite some faults. JW2 & JW3 were god awful, so im not hyped for JW4. Fully expecting another disappointment I probably won’t go to theaters to watch it unless I know for sure they show a trex and trike fighting!
This sounds awful already. None of the people you mentioned seemed to have any experience with this kind of movie. You said it's a reboot, but not actually. The last 2 movies were awful and need to be wiped from cannon if there's any hope of real stakes. A complete reboot is their best option. Filming in so many locations implies it's going to be another cluttered movie. I don't see this being anything more than a very quick cash grab from a creatively dead franchise.

Sounds like they're repeating what's been done four times before already. Like Hollywood does with every franchise now rather than actually evolve and move a series forward. There's so much potential in showing us a world where human have to adapt to living alongside dinosaurs but Hollywood don't seem to have a clue how to write anything interesting with the concept. Fallen Kingdom was set in a house once they got off the island and Dominions plot revolved around locusts and a cloned little girl.
If its like the last one🤦 I'll give up in this franchise

If the rex isnt gonna be in the movie or the small possibility based on where it is in the timeline then perhaps other large theropods could be used like mapusaurus, tyranotitan, and acrocanthosaurus or even saurophaginax. Torvosaurus would be a good addition to a movie as well.
Seeing new carnivores and herbivores would be awesome. Seeing larger theropods would be nice
