The Dad is a baker by trade, isn't he? Has his own company, I think? He's incredibly fast at preparation, obviously after years of experience. Smashing channel because it does make people curious how you raise that many children. The parents are so laid back. I admire them tremendously.

This week's hot topic is our small family's different corned beef hash recipes.
Mine is chopped potatoes, carrots and onions simmered in half a pan of beef stock until just about to drop. Add cubed corned beef and re heat. Stir once to mix the ingredients and serve. I sometimes put it in the slow cooker on high for 4 hours.
My daughter throws sliced potatoes and onions in a pan adds the corned beef and simmers till cooked, stirs and serves.
Mum used to put sliced potatoes and onions and corned beef, covered with stock, in a casserole dish with a lid, in the oven for an hour and half.
Daughter's boyfriend makes mashed potatoes and adds corned beef.

We call it potato pie. My late mum used to make this, she was a blind widow when I was 11 so meals had to be cheap. ( never thought of putting in beans or tomatoes, that would help make more portions for someone like me who lives alone ☕️)

Are you excessively glutinous? He was feeding about 20 people and if you need more than that, I can’t imagine the size of you, I’ve never known anyone to eat that much, but, if that’s your thing go for it, triple up the size and you’ll be able to eat non stop all day 😊

Traditionally eaten day after Xmas to go with left over Turkey. So you fry off an onion, add sprouts - mash some potatoes and then add the onions and sprouts - put it all back in a large frying pan with olive oil and brown off the potato onion sprout mixture - as it fries you can here a squeaky sound coming from the pan

I wouldnt put the thickening gravy mix in also just 2 stock cubes, three would make it very salty .

Definitely, not the traditional corned beef hash that's made here in Lancashire. Might try this for a change, though would be far too salty using 3 of those stock pots

My mum wouldn't have baked beans in the house -- she would make this with a tin of condensed mushroom soup in the corned beef.

I'd hardly call this 'budget' cooking ! the corned beef alone is pushing up to £2 a tin !!
