HI! Still waiting to see if the brand will give us a discount code of any sort, but in the meantime I found it for $100 off here through 11/27: ouraring.com/michel And $70 off here after that: go.magik.ly/ml/1yfhm/
Hi! Thank you so much for the video and the discount links - I have tried the first one (as I'm not in the US) and it looks like it's already been used. Anything else will me much appreciated! X
Thank you for doing this as I was contemplating buying this. You helped me with my decision and there's no need for me to buy this. You saved me some money!
THANK YOU for this video!! I considered this ring, but was put off by the design (too chunky for my taste!) and the membership. I think it's outrageous to charge an absurdity of money for a little ring, and then charge for a membership on top for the ring to WORK. It would be one thing for the membership to add more features or insights than the "base" functionality, I guess... Although I still wouldn't like it. I love the concept, but I'm hoping other tech companies will jump on the bandwagon and give us other, better options in the future!!
In case you’re looking for an alternative- I backed a kickstarted called Velia (formerly Iris) the ring is smaller, no subscription fee and supposedly does what the Oura ring does but better due to the technology it has. It is still in production but in my opinion seems much better than the Oura ring. Just an idea! And it’s a little bit cheaper from what I remember
@@MichelJanse you’re welcome! I believe the campaign is still open and can be backed, sizing kits are schedule to come out Q1 of 2024 and ship in March 2024. Of course this could change, but they do a good job updating the page with what’s going on.

O2, BLOOD PRESSURE, HEART RATE, STEPS (even though I am bedridden for the MOST PART) I ALSO have MANY different medical issues... one of them ALSO BEING LUPUS‼️I definitely know & understand what she is going through 💔🫂❣️ As to the watch, it ALSO can give me MANY DIFFERENT things that I don't USE (It would JUST drain the battery) ... My previous watch gave me by temperature and my A1C... but it finally died and I didn't replace it with the same one as it would not pair with my phone (the vitals WORKED FINE but I didn't have the correct time or date)... As for the OURA RING, it's VERY comfortable to wear (I wear it on my right hand pointer finger. I am left handed and I chose that finger to wear it on, as I only wear 2 other rings, my wedding set & a ring on my right ring finger! And they're already in production for the OURA4 RING ... @@maddieswarbrickan extra $120/yr for the fertility app 😒 why can't the oura app just calculate that? that's absurd. my $500 lady comp has lasted 20 years and is more accurate with no subscription fee. wow

This was a phenomenal review. I just ordered my ring this morning in silver. I typically wear gold jewelry but I am concerned about it scratching so I just ordered covers for it. Here's to tracking my sleep and stress levels.
Good review! I have a gen 3 and also find it really useful to help track my sleep and encourage better sleeping patterns. The more knowledge you have about your health, the better! You may already know this, but according to Oura, the ring is supposed to be worn on your index finger to get the most accurate data. The next option would be the middle finger. They do not recommend wearing it on any other fingers. I wonder if your data would change at all if you wore it on the appropriate finger? Just a thought.

I have had my Oura ring since June and I love it! I also got the ring for my autoimmune issues as well and find it incredibly helpful for when I start feeling a flare coming up and need to prioritize rest. I have heard people say the fitness part isn’t that great in comparison to an Apple Watch, but I’m not a fitness girly so I don’t notice an issue.
I've had my oura ring for 2 years now. I really like it. For me the biggest advantage over something like an apple watch is the size. I have more or less the same thoughts as you. What was interesting for me is that I average about 82 on my HRV and when I got covid it dropped all the way down to 39. So you could say the ring picked up on the fact that I was sick.
I sadly lost my oura ring earlier in the year. I've not been tempted to replace it...even though I loved it I don't think it's necessary. Like you said the data can get in your head.....and who really needs to know how much they sleep every night...we can tell that from timings. The red light thing did my head in and was counter productive with sleep. I also didn't find it overly comfortable to wear due to its bulkiness sometimes. I don't think it's really worth it unless you're really into tracking health data. I heard the new evie ring is cheaper and better...
I really wanted the Oura ring, but I did go with a different brand because of the monthly subscription. I just ordered my "other brand" ring, but this would have been my first choice otherwise. I wanted it to check sleeping patterns. That was what I was interested in.
Thank you, helpful review. If you have EDS, which I do too, it can be very normal to have a high resting heart rate because your blood vessels don't have enough collagen to constrict a normal amount. This means that your blood pressure drops a little and your heart rate goes up a little to compensate. Might be good to know about and there are tools to manage it if you were ever interested in looking into it. Love your videos!
Thanks for the detailed review. I’ve been wearing mine about 4 days and trying to decide if it is actually worth it or better than my watch. So far, I’m not convinced. Just a note, the more expensive, round version has a textured oval over the sensors, so you can feel/tell easily if it is in the correct position. However, not sure it is worth the extra $$ for the round one.
Not planning to buy this ring, but I still enjoyed this video. You talked about this getting if your head by checking all the time. I think it should be used like any other "health" indicator, like weight, to see the trends overall, not day to day variations unless you're specifically feeling unwell that day
I just bought the ring to track my temperature too! I have rheumatoid arthritis and I get fevers all of the sudden and I wanted to find something that could help me figure out if there was triggers to these spikes in temp or it’s just cause and at random. I’m bummed to hear it doesn’t. I turn so hot instantaneously and my skin turns beat red and start sweating…. It’s terrible! Having an autoimmune disease really sucks especially when you’re young and your body just wants to fight you!
Omg all of this! I get flash fevers too. The only thing stopping me from ordering for the last year is because my hands swell randomly so bad and hurt. I usually can’t wear my other rings to bed because my hands swell overnight. I woke up the other night because I didn’t take my rings off and my rings were stuck on! I had to use string and soap to get them off. How has the ring been wearing your hands? Can you just switch fingers?
@@christinec5958I’m not sure But I know the whoop is a watch like the Apple one. So that makes a big difference. I like the simplicity of a ring and nothing on my wrist 24/7 :)
One thing you have to consider is rings or watches that track steps are not as accurate as an ankle one. It tracks your arm movement. My hairdresser was getting thousands of steps and not walking anywhere it was her movement of her arms cutting hair. Another friend talks with her hands and gets soooo many steps in, lol. I know it is still some movement but it’s not equal to steps.
Since I had the misfortune of ordering the wrong size and needed to exchange it, Oura now refuses to accept a return of a ring that’s not working. In multiple emails they have not asked what the problem is to try to help fix it. 😢 There’s nowhere to leave a review.
I got an Apple Watch a year ago. Very similar to the oura ring in the metrics. No temperature measurements but it tracks my oxygen levels (asthma) and gives me a decent little ECG which helps me show the PVCs to my dr. Otherwise the sleep cycle measurements look very similar, heart rate, exercise stuff, steps, with some extras regarding my walking unsteadiness and a reminder to stand up and move for a few minutes every hour. I DON’T have any further money to pay to access the features. The purchase cost looks similar. I charge mine for about 35 -45 minutes daily. The battery safely lasts about a day so recharging is the main downside. It’s comfortable to wear, it’s supposed to be waterproof but I take it off and charge it during my shower. I use mine to help me increase activity, steps, and exercise plus track the above to help me improve my health (autoimmune, CFS, asthma and heart arrhythmia) I consider it one of the best things I’ve bought. My sleep has improved significantly and my overall activity has improved. I don’t worry about the metrics- I check in every morning and ignore it the rest of the day. I can answer my iPhone on it, receive and send texts, set timers throughout the day which is helpful for cooking and playing beat the clock with chores or taking stuff out of the dryer after 10 minutes to get rid wrinkles and avoid shrinkage.
Hi Michel. I have the same ring. Bought it around 7 mths ago. You and I bought the ring for the same reasons. I have Ms and leukemia. I want to improve my sleep and my health. I tried some of the breathing exercises. Once the ring falls below 30% we have to charge it that night otherwise, not all the data gets recorded. Definitely on the bulky side. Please don't think I'm crazy. Do you ever feel the ring heating up on your finger? Mine is pretty beaten up too. Thanks for your review. I'm still in the process of paying mine off. Have a great evening 😊❤
Have you tried it with the natural cycles app? If you pay for natural cycles (FDA approved family planning app) it WILL tell you your exact temp! It’s like $50 a year or something and so worth it- for planning or preventing pregnancy but also just basal body temp tracking! :)
misleading comment, it's $120/year if you prepay! more if you don't. that's absurd, the oura ring could easily build these algorithms into their own software, what a scam! there are much cheaper fda approved Natural family planning devices on the market.
Thank you Michel really appreciate your thoughts I was concerned about the bulk so that was helpful to know and luckily I’m a silver girlie so less noticeable wear and tear 🙂 great to know it tracks steps to I wasn’t sure it did that and that the exact thing I thought I’d need a second device for
I agree about the cheaper version, I wanted to get a rose gold horizon first but then I went to the store and I got so disappointed with the fit and the design so I got simple heritage silver. feels like a better thing I have done so far
Hey friend ❤ so happy for you. I wear a ring but I'm not married yet. I think when your married you should wear your wedding ring but I know some couples don't and some people hands.
Thank you so much for going through the pros and cons of the Oura Ring. I was debating for the last few months whether to purchase this ring or not. So this has been so helpful to me. Thank you.
My Dad always said that the sleep you get before midnight is better than the sleep after. I don't know if that's right but it might be why you get more deep sleep the earlier you go to bed.
Just some thoughts on EMF’s with the ring if you’re constantly wearing it 24/7 you’re exposing yourself to the EMF’s. I’d put it on airplane mode to eliminate exposure and then you can take it off airplane mode once a day to let the data sync with the app
I've never heard of this ring until Michel brought it up but the emf is all I could think about, especially at night near the head. My ears already ring so bad. Maybe the company has info on this. Interesting product though and can definitely see the benefits for people with health concerns outside of tinnitus.
Everyone gets their deep sleep in the first half of the night, and rem in the second half! I highly recommend the book “Why We Sleep” by Dr. Mathew Walker who has a PhD in sleep research!! Taught me so much about the importance of sleep, how sleep cycles work, and helped me prioritize it. (He also did a few great podcast interviews on Andrew Huberman’s podcast)!

I had been waiting for this video! I wasn't able to watch on Monday as I was doing a bit of screen time cleanse. But have you seen the new daytime stress feature??? I feel like this will help with you maybe catching flares? It's extremely accurate I've noticed.
The thing I don’t understand about these rings is that you can get all this functionality plus so much more from an Apple Watch for roughly the same price. Plus with the watch there is no subscription fee. If you have an iPhone that seems like a better option.
@@brandyleighsame. I don’t want to wear a watch all the time, even with all the great jewelry type bands they have to put on it. The ring maybe a bit bulky but still more comfortable to me. I actually did research after this video and got the Evie one because it’s medically the best, supposedly- and I have lupus and other conditions, and ships out in January. It also has a little arrow cut out that makes it look more like something I’d wear anyway. It was only $269, I believe. No deals on it bc it’s new but that’s okay.
@@BareBohemianBeauty oh yeah I heard of that ring! I’ve only had my Oura ring for about 6 months and I’ll use it until it breaks (since I already paid full price for it) but maybe I consider a different brand after!
Can you wear when washing hands? I do take it off to shower. I believe it is water resistant but curious who here does not take it off when getting wet.
I have the sleep applied on my Apple Watch/phone and it says you’ve met your goal of x amount of hrs however I set the time frame so it clicks on whether I’m in bed at my desired time or not so it’s pretty useless to me. How does this one track your sleep? Do you have to set parameters or does it just know when you’ve gone to bed and wake up for the day? This is my sole reason for wanting this watch b/c of my insomnia, I want to be able to actually see the data.
Yes!!!! Although you can turn the Bluetooth off on the oura ring and just put it on to sync...it still records the data. Its actually why I choose it over other devices. I try not to use anything Bluetooth and turn the WiFi off at night. So many things these days to battle with for our health 😢
Taking a moment to say that you brighten everyone's day including mine with your videos, you're always so kind and you're amazing. Happy to call you a friend.
Thank you so much for all of your content! Where did you get that beautiful black candle on the coffee table behind you? I have been looking for a similar one. Thanks so much :)
I have the fully round one and there is a little indent on the outside of the ring where the sensors are so it doesn’t get twisted around. So if someone wanted the horizon version, the one I have, the fully round version. Knowing where the sensors are isn’t an issue.
Thank u for sharing this review!! I’ve been contemplating getting one and always love hearing from someone who has had it first hand. I’m not a fan of having to pay for a monthly app subscription 🙃🙃
It's meant to be worn on our index finger. I don't like the emf effects, within 2weeks I had to take mine off. Its good, to track sleep etc, but it's not worth the emf effects sadly.
I’m curious where your average HRV is with your autoimmune conditions. Mine sits around 30 (also autoimmune) and it freaks me out when they say anything under 50 is considered “very unhealthy”
7:40 brilliant!! I think too much data makes us less aware of how we actually are feeling before we imputed the #’s in our brain. Thank you for sharing this piece! We all need to pay attention to our own body and how our brain connects and forget technology. Go to the beach like you already made your goal Michel when you moved there! So inspired watching you and learning!
Thank you so much for this!!! I love my ring but I'm just like you, I hate that I have to pay for the membership monthly!! I paid enough for the ring that I shouldn't have to!! Anyway, yes, I love that it has the flat top too, it lets me know it's on right. It's something that I came across the video before I went out for my walk because it needed charging! I have the silver and wear it on my pointer finger on my left hand, my wedding rings are white cold so it goes great with it. Thanks again sweetie!!
Thanks for this video, I had been curious about it. I used to get the same information with an app on my Apple Watch, but I no longer wear it and am curious about alternatives.
How so? It has medical grade sensors so it’s no different than being monitored in the hospital. If you had a chronic condition such as lupus like Michel and I do, it might make more sense to you to want to know what your body is up to. Just saying :)) friendly question is all
@@BareBohemianBeauty the more irradiation you apply to your body, hospital as well as home, electrical, etc, the more harm it has done to us all since birth. It’s an unfortunate fact of life. My hairdresser was getting thousands of steps and not walking anywhere it was her movement of her arms cutting hair. Another friend talks with her hands and gets soooo many steps in, lol. I know it is still some movement but it’s not equal to steps.
yeah, highly doubt the unpacking was 13 miles. I get data like that when I fold laundry and sometimes even driving.
I use mine to help me increase activity, steps, and exercise plus track the above to help me improve my health (autoimmune, CFS, asthma and heart arrhythmia)
I consider it one of the best things I’ve bought.
That’s great friend!!🤍🤍🎉Thank you for sharing!!🫶🏼
Thank you Michel really appreciate your thoughts I was concerned about the bulk so that was helpful to know and luckily I’m a silver girlie so less noticeable wear and tear 🙂 great to know it tracks steps to I wasn’t sure it did that and that the exact thing I thought I’d need a second device for
Yay I’m so glad it was helpful!!🤍
I agree about the cheaper version, I wanted to get a rose gold horizon first but then I went to the store and I got so disappointed with the fit and the design so I got simple heritage silver. feels like a better thing I have done so far
Hey friend ❤ so happy for you. I wear a ring but I'm not married yet. I think when your married you should wear your wedding ring but I know some couples don't and some people hands.
Thank you so much for going through the pros and cons of the Oura Ring. I was debating for the last few months whether to purchase this ring or not. So this has been so helpful to me. Thank you.
I've been wearing a Garmin Fenix for 2.5y. It does most if not all what your ring does, and the app is free!
My Dad always said that the sleep you get before midnight is better than the sleep after. I don't know if that's right but it might be why you get more deep sleep the earlier you go to bed.
He's right 😊
Thanks for the review! I found it very helpful in my decision to purchase the oura ring.
This was super helpful, Michel. Thank you very much.
Is it waterproof? How do you keep it clean?
Yes it’s water-resistant. Believe you can swim and shower with it on.
Thank you for your review❤ definitely happy I stayed until the end, I’m going to size up for a thumb ring because I’m a ring lover 🥰
Really appreciate this thorough review!
Does the flat top have scratches? Might not be bad if only scratches at the bottom.
Off topic....but I LOVE the sweater you're wearing in the video!
Thank you for the reading suggestion👍🏼❣️ I read avidly. Anything I can get my hands on‼️ I will go grab this NOW‼️I will also be sharing IT 👍🏼❣️ MAHALO NUI LOA❣️💞 ALOHA FROM HAWAI'I 💞🌹 LYSSA 🌹
I have been considering it, I’m glad you for the most part have enjoyed it 😊
I had been waiting for this video! I wasn't able to watch on Monday as I was doing a bit of screen time cleanse. But have you seen the new daytime stress feature??? I feel like this will help with you maybe catching flares? It's extremely accurate I've noticed.
I’d this included in app? Or additional feature to pay for?
Thank you for sharing! Had no idea a subscription was required, so that is good to know!
You can use it without paying, you will just have less features, like no stress levels tracking.
@pauliina909 oh thank you! That is good to know!! ❤️
@@pauliina909you get no data if you don't pay, not even your heart rate
The thing I don’t understand about these rings is that you can get all this functionality plus so much more from an Apple Watch for roughly the same price. Plus with the watch there is no subscription fee. If you have an iPhone that seems like a better option.
Think it’s all about everyone’s personal taste. I prefer the look and feel of this ring vs wearing a bulky watch all the time.
I’ve only had my Oura ring for about 6 months and I’ll use it until it breaks (since I already paid full price for it) but maybe I consider a different brand after!
it's for people like me who can't stand wearing a watch, especially to sleep.
I’m curious if your sleep quality is worse if you do not sleep alone and are being affected by a partner’s sleep habits?
Michel, the $70 off link isn’t working for me. Is there another way to link it?
I have been wanting one of these rings forever
👀👀
That’s so cool for what all it does but no way I am sleeping in jewelry. I can’t sleep in any rings, necklaces, etc.
If it wasn’t for the subscription, I would have been their customer.
I’m not interested in another monthly payment, I got enough of those.
Can you wear when washing hands? I do take it off to shower. I believe it is water resistant but curious who here does not take it off when getting wet.
Thank you!! I’ve been looking at buying one so this insight is really helpful!
I tracked my sleep for a couple months years ago and I felt like it wasn’t actionable at all!
The constant EMF exposure is not good for auto immmune disfunction or health in general. Please research and consider eliminating 💞
Exactly
Yes!!!! Although you can turn the Bluetooth off on the oura ring and just put it on to sync...it still records the data. Its actually why I choose it over other devices. I try not to use anything Bluetooth and turn the WiFi off at night. So many things these days to battle with for our health 😢
@@KWilliams22but would you still recommend it?
Timely as my DIL asked for this for Christmas.
No way!!! Suspicious 👀👀
I might be mistaken but your basal body temp is the lowest temperature point in a 24 hour window
Oura ring rocks - dump the big bulky heavy Smart Watch and get a cool Oura Ring.
Taking a moment to say that you brighten everyone's day including mine with your videos, you're always so kind and you're amazing. Happy to call you a friend.
🥹aweee Jackson!! That is so kind, thank you for being here friend!!🤍🤍
The more expensive one has a small indent on the bottom so you can make sure it is on right.
Whaoh I didn’t know this!!! Good to know, thanks for sharing!!🫶🏼🤍
I was so excited to see this video. I’m an Oura ring girly. Let me know if you create anything for us Girlies to go on will be fun to share metrics.
Thank you for this review. I was thinking of making the investment for my immune compromised daughter. Blessings
The newer style has a bump on the bottom so you wear it correctly 😊
Thank u for sharing this review!! I’ve been contemplating getting one and always love hearing from someone who has had it first hand. I’m not a fan of having to pay for a monthly app subscription 🙃🙃
Can’t watch yet but wanted to comment to support! I’m amped about this video
Awwe thank you for the constant support Jessica!!🤍🤍
Wow I was considering this ring until you said there's a monthly subscription! Yep. Now I'm out. That's ridiculous.
Great info - thank u…I also autoimmune reasons think I ‘d like this
It's meant to be worn on our index finger. I don't like the emf effects, within 2weeks I had to take mine off. Its good, to track sleep etc, but it's not worth the emf effects sadly.
How did emf affect you?
Seems similar to my Fitbit
Yep! Stick to the fitbit 😊
This was a great review! Thank you!
Wow.....the monthly subscription is a huge turn off. Thanks for the info!
Same!! I wanted the ring but decided not to just because of the subscription
Why don’t you wear it in your right index finger. It looks way better on the index or the thumb
Does the code still work??🤩🤩🤩🤩
Can you wear it on your thumb?
It recommends your ring finger to wear it on but I think you can wear it on all fingers...but not sure about thumb
I hate that you have to pay a monthly subscription to view your stats in addition to buying the ring. You shouldn’t have to pay for that.
What does the HRV balance stand for?
Heart rate variable
@@ashleysimmons1216 thank you!
FINALLY someone i watch and trust posting this
Honest review ? - isn’t it a minimum requirement?
I also have a high resting heart rate and am an autoimmune girly (Crohn’s). I wonder if there is a correlation!
Can’t imagine having an Apple Watch on my wrist much less this for health- electronics attached to one’s body and heath are a complete contradiction.
As much as chemical poisoning, harmful products, additives etc. Individuals are waking up to this fact and turning away from pharmaceutical products as well.
@@ljones4301 ohh okay. I thought you meant that being on our electronics was a bad thing, like addiction to social media. I should’ve realized what you meant.. It is a scary thing but I guess for me that I’d like to be healthy while I’m still around. It’s a win lose, I suppose, thinking about what you said.
You don’t get an accurate count of steps with an Oura Ring. I was shocked by the amount of steps my Oura ring reported compared to an actual fitness tracker.
Great review. No need for this item!
You know these smart devices are not good for your health right?
Do you have any issues with it in the car?
The charger is not included? WTF. Very disappointing. Best Buy does not seem to suggest a charger comes with it. That turned me of period.
Okay I found it further in. But be careful. Best Buy advertises a charger next to your shopping cart with the ring. It suggested to me that I needed that. Scheesh.
Thanks
No thanks, it is huge.
